Followed another reviewers post and decided to try. We were a little nervous because there was no one there but thankfully we stopped and went in!! Extremely attentive and friendly staff. Clean, well kept restaurant. Love the individual painted tables, personalized carved chairs, decor. Chips, salsa and queso very good. Large variety on menu- everything being served looked good. We went a little early for dinner crowd and only shared quesadilla but it was very good also. Based on all of that, would definitely go back if in the area and try more food. read more

So where do I start, this has to be one of the most ridiculous things ever to be requested of a restaurant. So they have a sign that says check your order before it leaves because we are not responsible for wrong orders!!!!! Excuse me you want me to go through an $80 order and unwrap every plate and look to make sure it's correct!!!! Isn't that what your staff is hired to do???? It's not my job to check my order before I leave it's your job to hire competent employees that know how to do their job. Your kitchen staff should be able to understand the order and then you should have the person doing to go orders to double check the order before you box and bag it up. That said my family had been traveling 8hours and we got into town and we ordered for 5 the bill was over $80 and I tipped 20% anyway. We get it home and they had left the pint of cheese dip out of my order. I called as we live 5 minutes from there and I explained that we were shorted a pint of cheese dip which by the way is as expensive as gold. I was told after back and forth and a call back after review that I am out of luck and they would not give me my $17 cheese dip because it was up to me to check my order and go through the 3 bags of food to make sure my order was correct. Needless to say I will never go back!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is the craziest response from management. Hey how about since I have been coming into your business since you opened 15 years ago you do a solid and give me what I ordered!!!! It's one of the newer Tex-Mex restaurants in Silsbee. The original is just down the road in Lumberton. The food here is very good as are the portions. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, but sometimes service can be a little erratic I think due more than anything to COVID. So far everything we've tried has been very good! Beef Enchiladas are very good and everything is served with rice and beans. I usually get the big dinner which also comes with a cold plate of a taco, tostada, and queso chip. The Carne Guisada is really good too. It comes with the flour tortillas and rice and beans. They have a pretty good kind menu that includes Chicken Nuggets which is good because that's what our 6 year old always wants. We usually get iced tea or Cokes, but they do have mixed drinks and their Margaritas are good too. read more

This was my first time here & the food was not good at all. The queso did not taste good, it tasted like it came from a can and it had been sitting there. The tostadas and tacos were soggy and wet. I could not finish my food i felt so disgusted while i was eating it. The waitress didn't even speak to us when she gave us our chips & salsa. This place was great! Not spicy but still I really liked the flavors. (I'm not into hot foods in general). I had the fajita taco salad (not crazy salad like, definitely didn't overdo the lettuce but I also didn't feel like it was just one ingredient, had a good mix of stuff. Pinto beans, fajita chicken was delicious, and guacamole was good) and husband had the chimichanga. We also split the fajita flameado. All were good! Standard Tex Mex. Not greasy, and good flavors. Also husband, when he was picking up curbside, saw them turn away two pple who weren't wearing masks, so felt pretty good about them taking covid seriously. read more

Just visiting in the area and saw good reviews so we gave it a try. The chips and salsa were very tasty. After that, however, the rest of the meal was disappointing. No vegetarian options on the menu so I went with the chiles rellenos with cheese. Unfortunately, cheese was the theme of the plate so much so that there was entirely too much. I pulled off enough cheese to completely fill an empty salsa container and had plenty to eat besides. My wife had the chicken enchiladas and found gristles that were inedible in the meat filling. Food was Great when I finally received it. I was by myself and was seated immediately. I waited for over 10 min for my waitress to take my order. I ordered an appetizer and my meal. It took 20 mins to get my appetizer and additional 20 minutes for what they call the cold plate. I sat patiently for an additional 30 mins waiting on my hot plate. My waitress approached me with my check and I explained that I had never received my hot plate. She said she would check on it. She returned and stated that the kitchen had messed up and that my food was now being prepared. 15 mis later my food arrived. As I was paying my bill I was asked how things were. I explained this debacle and was told that this happens when the kitchen gets backed up...no offer to comp anything. Ruffly a hour and a half to eat. Very poor customer service. I had the pleasure on Saturday to have lunch at the new Mi Pueblo located in Lumberton, Texas. A very attractive building with a modern Mexican decor. Everyone there was friendly and my waitress Hannah was the best. She is a true asset to this restaurant. The salsa and chips were excellent. The salsa was thick and not too spicy. Just the way I like it. I ordered the mixed fajitas for one. Presentation was perfect. It came with a generous portion of tender, charbroiled beef and chicken fajitas served on a sizzling hot skillet with sautéed onions and bell peppers. It was served with four tortillas, pico de gallo, refried beans, rice and guacamole for $13.48. My meal was great and I preferred the beef fajita over the chicken. Beef fajita was tender and chicken slightly dry. For my dessert I ordered the sopapillas. My order consisted of four with honey and sugar on top for $2.98. These were made out of puff pastry instead of flour tortillas, which is my preference. I won't be ordering these again but I will be trying the Postre Del Pueblo. Which is a cinnamon shell with ice cream and strawberries for $3.78. Over all Mi Pueblo is a fantastic Tex-Mex restaurant. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to going again. She kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly to see if there was anything we needed, while always wearing a friendly smile. I ordered the large fajita salad with chicken and beef for $9.98. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was point on. It was a large fried floured tortilla filled with a layer of beans, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream(which I asked to leave the sour cream off). It is then topped with fajita beef or chicken (I asked for both)and lastly, it is covered with chili con queso. The large salad was fabulous but too large for my appetite. I would also suggest asking for the queso on the side. This is not a salad to take home leftovers because they pour the queso over the salad and even though it is good, the lettuce is wilted from the warm queso by the end of the meal. My grandson ordered the Burrito Rio Grande for $9.98. A 10-inch flour tortilla that is filled with everything but the kitchen sink. It is filled with seasoned beef, gravy, Mexican rice, beans and chile con carne. topped with chile con queso. It was huge but he managed to eat the whole thing. My granddaughter orders the same thing atMexican restaurant, and you can bet your paycheck on it, and that is tamales. She ordered the Gonzales Tamales for $8.48. It consists of three tamales covered with chili or queso (she asked for her queso on the side). Served with rice and beans. We finished our meal with some light and delicious Sopapillas drizzled with honey. Delicioso. All three of us loved the salsa, the queso and our meals. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. For a Saturday night, it was not crowded at all. If you looking for some good Tex-Mex take a drive to Lumberton and try Mi Pueblo. New to town, my boyfriend went for dinner after a long day of moving. We really enjoyed the salsa, it could have been a little more spicy, but it was chilled and had a nice amount of cilantro! Also the Tex-Mex style food was very good including their queso. I do wish that they served beer or margaritas considering Lumberton is "wet" now and in my opinion, these things are staples in the Tex-Mex scene. Our service was actually very good; however, I did not appreciate being reprimanded by our very young server, "Dylan" I believe was his name, when asking if they had any beer on tap. He politely told me, "no, we do not serve alcohol here ma'am.", but then proceeded to leave a handwritten scripture on my receipt: 1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. I am a Christian and I am not against scripture whatsoever; however, I did take offense as I did feel that this was personally directed toward me in response to asking about beer. I do not go out to eat for life advice from my high school aged server. There is an appropriate time to minister to others and being on the clock and taking a gamble at offending customers is not one of them. I seldom give 5 stars. The food was four and a half. The service was five plus. Our server nailed the perfect balance between promptly anticipating every need and allowing us time to enjoy at our pace. Additionally there were other wait staff that kept every aspect of the meal well organized. And they were all very friendly and well trained in customer service. The food and service is really good at both locations at Silsbee and Lumberton. I have a daughter who worked there but had to quit because she has two kids, one getting ready for school and needed to be on day shift. When hired she was told by the manager she would be working night shift for a few nights then moved to day shift after she got trained. On her second day she was told she will not be put on day shift but is required to stay on night shift. The manager flat out lied about to her about her shifts and refused to listen and maybe work out something. Wonder what else they lie about. I was told discrimination also exists in the work environment as well. read more

I'm a former worker here and I'd like to comment on the quality of sanitation there. After handing trash, dirty dishes, and cleaning supplies the workers would often not wash their hands. As well the workers would eat from the chip machines with dirty hands, and touch the ice with their hands. Also there were often flies and a few roaches seen in the storage room. If you plan on taking a trip here please avoid this as a stop. If you plan on working here don't expect sanitation standards to be upheld and fully expect to be treated as worthless by the managers. This restaurant has a high turnover rate for a reason. Managers are bad, and the hygiene is sub-par. read more
