Service was also great! The food truck is very close to the VW plant, across the freeway directly behind the City Express Hotel. We enjoyed the food so much at the food truck we decided to visit the main restaurant on the "Recta a Cholula" with a large group of friends. We made reservations and our table awaited our arrival. Being Sunday "El Negro Mandingo" had a live band playing Cuban music. The seafood was fresh, fantastic and portions very ample. Chef Mauricio Pulido is a seafood genius! No wonder it was packed. Every single person of our group of 10 was extremely happy with their selection and raved about their selected dish. Great fun, great food, would highly recommend!

We selected this restaurant because of the seafood. We have the the grill local shrimp salad. The shrimps are butterflied and grilled. It come with avocado salad. Our second is grilled octopus with rice. Both dishes are excellent. We end the night with special flan cake. The top layer is flan and bottom is chocolate cake. Nice touch. I asked what the difference between ceviche and aguachiles was, got that aguachiles are spicier. Sure. I asked to go light on the spice and got the red version (you can choose your peppers). I also requested a mix of the octopus (pulpo) and fish (pescado) with more lime and no cilantro - and what a great decision! The citric flavors explode in your mouth with just the right amount of spices and salt. And the chips they use are so delicious even by themselves. The staff is also super nice, friendly, and attentive. I saw chapulines (crickets) by the cashier and asked if I could try one - then was quickly chickening out - but they all encouraged me to try ("It's now or never!") so I did - and I have to say, surprisingly good! The upstairs deck lends you a breezy view to the marketplace while you sip the agua del día (watermelon for me) or beer of your choice. Such a perfect reprieve.
