My go to Honduran food place. I have tried a lot of their dishes and everything has been good. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they will give you re-fried, old (from the day before) fried chicken, I can tell by how dry and over cooked it is. And that is not right. I don't dine in. I always take my food to go. My go to are the baleadas and pollo con tajadas. It can be messy to eat so I prefer to eat at home. The horchata they have is also yummy. The baleada is like a giant flour tortilla filled with beans,eggs, and avocado or you could also choose with the fajita beef. Now the pollo con tajadas is a couple of pieces of fried chicken(bone in) sitting on top of a bed of thinly sliced plantain chips and cabbage that is mixed with a homemade creamy sauce. I give it 3.5 stars. This is no-frills restaurant, with plastic forks and knives and plates, that serves authentic Honduran food. For those who are uninitiated it is a cross between Peruvian and Mexican. This is the first Honduran restaurant that I have seen in the Dallas area. It means that some of the foods are similar but the dishes are prepared differently. For example, the wife got enchiladas that seemed to have a hard taco shell on the bottom, and had fresh tomato and a boiled egg on top. It was covered in red sauce and a very sharp shredded cheese which I am guessing is goat cheese. The restaurant is modest but clean. The restrooms were clean. We went for lunch on a Saturday and after we sat down there was a pretty good crowd that followed us. I got an order of papusus--3 to an order--for $6.99. it came with rice and beans, both of which had good flavor. Good deal. I liked everything a lot. The papusus were flavorful and did not need sour cream or any other condiment. I think I like Peruvian a bit better and would return to El Salvador or Santa Rosa. Still, this was a good experience and I am not sorry that we tried it. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is homemade. My main reason for 3.5 stars is the no frills atmosphere and plasticware. read more

The food tastes very well but my problem is with the girls who work the front and the time for the food to be done. They are always changing people in the front and they grab the phone when they take orders and touch your food at the same time. Most of the girls never look happy and are not professional. The food always takes a very long time to come out no matter what it is, I'll call in my order and it still won't be ready. They take about 30 to 40 minutes for it to come out. Really small family owned style, I've never had Honduran food but this was the best way because it was cheap and home cooked, for 5$ I got a baleada (I think how you spell it) was very big and plenty. They didn't speak English at all so be ready for that. All in all good and they serve you a lot for the price. read more

We moved out to Dallas from Houston ( where you can get the most authentic central american food and mexican ever ) and we loveddddd this place, until today. Today we ordered yuca con chicharon , pollo con tajadas , 2 baleadas con carne , and 2 pupusas de chicharon con queso... Yuca was over fried and hard , along with the yuca and my tajadas and the chicken. I love me a good baleada with carne and the meat is almost always great quality until today too.... It seemed like they used the beef scraps for our baleadas. Nothing but fat and un-chewable cartilage. I understand beef has fat , but wjat we were served today was literally unedible. I noticed they're looking for a new cook , maybe it was the cook serving such terrible food. Honduran food is one of my family and I's favorite... Sadly, the Mi Cocina owners of HP Village fame are suing this poor family for trademark infringement. It's an authentic place so much so that i did'nt know what alot of the items were. I went for what i know and always order, pupusas. These delicious fried goodies are made out of cornmeal stuffed with cheese, beans and cheese, or shredded pork and cheese. We order 1 of each which came with white rice, black refried beans, and curtido (cabagge and carrot marinated in vinegar salad) all for $7.99. This little restaurant, tucked in the middle of Garland, is truly a taste of home. Giant portions, real flavors, and fresh fruit drinks that will cool you off like a slice of cold watermelon in the summertime. The soups, especially, are particularly delightful.
