We meet for lunch but my partner and I stopped for dinner tonight , so yummy! We both ordered the shrimp and scallop fajitas and a pitcher of frozen margaritas. Our waiter was polite, efficient and an all around good guy. Food was so good! Neither one of us could finish so we got to go boxes, plus we had both finished our tortillas and ordered more before we decided we were full, those went in our boxes too. We did order queso to go with our complimentary chips and salsa. Of course we finished the queso. I cannot recommend La Fragua enough, whether it's dinner or lunch, it can't be beat. Prices are good too! We will be back!

If my memory is correct, this building used to be the American Legion building during Crestline's better days! I am glad the space is being used for a business as Crestline does not have a lot of dining options. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, and promptly took our orders. I ordered the chimichanga with shredded beef! It was very tasty and flavorful and the presentation was excellent. This restaurant is very festive looking and the environment is casual but nice. It looked like they were gearing up for Day of the Dead celebrations which do seem to happen around Halloween. I didn't try any of their adult beverages but I bet they are good! Food is good, reasonably priced and service is very good. Highly recommend!

That said, the interior is a little tacky and worn, but the food and service are terrific! My wife ordered a à la carte chicken enchilada and a side of rice while I ordered their shredded chicken taco and chicken tortilla soup. All four dishes were huge and delicious! I did need to add a little kicker to the salsa but all things considered, it was pretty good! The chicken tortilla soup had a huge amount of chicken in it, accompanied by fresh fried tortilla bits. Combined with the salad, it was more than enough for a wonderful dinner!

I have dreamed of having my own taco truck and this experience was equally inspiring and frustrating, knowing I could do so much better but also knowing this guy gets a taco truck while I don't. No delicious salsa on the side. How could meat, cheese, veggies, etc, be so flavorless?? I know people complain about things being spicy - maybe that's part of it - but this was so disappointing. Such a waste of $15. Also, what's up with the loud generator? Can hardly even hear the dude - and vice a versa - when trying to get my order.

Words that come to mind: authentic, delicious, creative…read more Authentic: The food lists Mexican items that are well prepared and flavorful, while paying homage to traditional Mexican cuisine. There were a variety of choices, including vegetarian options. I also appreciated how they organized their menu; it was easy to navigate and not overly complicated like some Mexican restaurant menus can get. Delicious: I didn't regret a single bite. My wet burrito was a medley of traditional Mexican flavors served with a side of perfectly-cooked Mexican rice. I asked to sub fajita veggies for meat and they accommodated with no problem. While most people go crazy for cheese, I gotta admit the red sauce on the burrito was the star in my opinion. My husband got the molcajete and it was bubbling hot with cuts of steak, chicken, and shrimp cooked alongside onions and peppers topped with a mound of cheese. It could easily feed 2 people! Creative: Like any Mexican restaurant, they find creative ways to appeal to gringos. In this case, it's through their drink menu. We had a Black Magic Margarita served with a slice of lime floating atop a scoop of ice, topped with a gummy frog so it looks like a frog on a lily pad. There are some other nods to creativity on their menu like the wet burrito, but they aren't going to sacrifice their authenticity for the masses, which I appreciate. Bottom line: This is great Mexican food that is authentically cooked with a few twists to appeal to American taste buds. My only qualm is the chips aren't homemade, but hey, they're free and that wasn't why I came in the first place. We stopped off on a Sunday afternoon and by 4pm the place was packed, so the secret is out that Casa Express is awesome!
