Service: excellent. Ambience? Ehhh think early 90s Denny's minus the grand slam. Great view of the no-tell Motel compete with drug deals and prostitutes. (Not their fault, Welcome to Willard). The food was missing seasoning. You can tell everything was fresh- so that's a plus. Our waiter told us their cook "just quit" so I'll give them a pass on the missing menu items like langua and barbacoa but zero excuse for serving bland food. went on 1/17/23 3:53 pm and had server #10 woman with long red hair. Some of our food was cold and told her about it and she just looked at us like what am I supposed do. My husband asked her to warm it up and she said she would make it so it burned his mouth‍ It still came out cold. He approached her at the register about her attitude and her response was..... that ain't nothing... you want to see attitude???He said he was going to call in and tell the manager about her and she said I'll call my Auntie!!! Well maybe for Ohio, this might be good. Beef and chicken burro. Turns out it's ground beef, same as Taco Bell. Salsa and chips, stale thin saltless chips. Salsa appears homemade with tomato sauce, some onion, hint of Chile but overall BLAND & FLAVORLESS. Beans had an off taste. Maybe it was the river water that the beans were cooked in. Also had a combo plate, taco and beef enchilada. Same ground beef, no garnish on taco, just "beef". Service as good as fast food. No follow up. Was anything good? If you are in Shelby this is a must!!! Hands down delicious! Huevos con chorizo is slamming! Chori pollo can get in my belly! Love it!

Had lunch today at the only Mexican restaurant in Shelby because we didnt feel like driving all the way to Mansfield to our usual spot. Got in, we were seated pretty much immediately and the place is nice inside with the typical Mexican restaurant aesthetic of cactuses and sombreros. The prices are a lot higher than most places I've been, not sure why. The chips and salsa were okay, not deep fried very well. Salsa was watery. Ordered a burrito lunch special that comes with a hard taco. Burritos dont come with lettuce, sour cream and tomato so make sure to add it. The burrito deluxe like that is $6 which is pretty insane considering everywhere else Ive been it's $3.99. Burrito was good though, the taco not so much, just seems like their deep fryer there needs cleaned. All in all a good experience if you come in during lunch hours, it's a tad bit cheaper. Ordered from Grubhub for the first time after living here a few years and I wish I would have tried it sooner! The food was perfectly cooked, very flavorful, and delicious. My husband is, for health reasons, a lactose free pescetarian and as you can imagine that can limit our options with takeout in a small town with mostly pizza places. He had no trouble finding a dairy free seafood dish with fish and shrimp here that he really enjoyed and is looking forward to having variety! I really enjoyed the cheesy chicken and chorizo dish I tried. I did add some cilantro to it and he added some extra guac to his, but all great. Visiting Ohio from the Southwest, I was a little worried about being deprived of Mexican food, but Don Juan's was a nice reprieve. They were friendly and prompt, and had a nice (and affordable!) lunch menu. They were pretty authentic, too! I was impressed. The decor was quite bright, but fun. read more

A couple of years ago, my family, which included immediate family, cousins, and extended family, went there in between calling hours. We are a very large family, and it was decided that we would go to Don Juan. I don't know how or why we decided to go there. That day was not the day to go home and cook with so many of the family in town. They accommodated us with no problem and pushed together several tables with their chairs to make one long table. We all ordered food, and it was brought to us in a reasonably quick amount of time, and it was good. Their food is definitely Mexican, and it's good. It's a lot more authentic than many of the other Mexican restaurants where I have eaten and it felt authentic to me. Besides that, it's just good. I liked it a lot and wished that I could have gone there more the last time I was in Shelby. An added plus was that I got to speak Spanish there, too. read more

We attend this restaurant when we get a kick for mexican, due to proximity. However flavor of food seems to lack compared to other sit-down mexican restaurants that we have been to. Yet, prices are decent, so we continue to go. Food comes out pretty quick read more

I've eaten at Mexican restaurants throughout the country and Don Juan's is one of the best. The owners and staff are welcoming, friendly & courteous. The food is excellent with a wide variety of dishes from which to choose. The place is very clean and colorful. A great place to dine! read more
