I have always wanted to see what shopping at this store would be like. First off, it 's huge and…read morethe shelves are full to the rim with products. I have never seen a store with all that product on the shelves. WOW ! Very impressive with the variety as well, One reviewer wrote " they are very racist and segregate non asians and everyone else serving them first and refusing to service to everyone else".. well I certainly did not see that today. The staff were great when I asked about something and they served me at the hot food section - no one told me to go stand in the back to wait. The hot food section had a great selection and people were lining up for it. Even fresh roasted duck. I love sushi and there was plenty to choose from ( reasonable prices as well). The baked goods are looked amazing .. my sweet tooth was ready for some goodies . But when I got to the fish department... wow ! The selection was unbelievable. I have never seen clams that big, crabs piled up , and fresh fish. I am not a big fan of fish but seafood I do love. The variety is insane.. shrimp , squid, lobsters , and musssels..oh my ! I just walked around a bit to see what else they had in stock. Everything for home cooking chinese food is all here.. even woks . A pack of spring rolls, shrimp, onion pancakes, some sushi and everything came up to just over $20. Simply put, if you are looking for Asian foods specifically , then I suggest to go here.

Now let's get to dislikes: The parking is horrible and the exit from that parking is a nightmare! Basically this massive store with a giant traffic is located in a very wrong place! The store is not big enough for the traffic and it seems like people can't really move easily and shop in peace! Again, I may go back there for unique products that I like and need but if there is another option, I probably try the other option for the mentions negative points. And I know that's unfortunate because the store is very good.

Many of their refrigerators on the left side of the store have been broken for months now. Went to buy salt fish and there was molded food in the fridge. The wall of videos and the relaxing 'omm' sign are a nice greeting, but even better was stumbling over bags of fresh Jamaican sugar cane. Finding boxes of mangos from Jamaica still in their shipping boxes brought a huge smile to my face. Shelf after shelf of useful ingredients, delightful smells, and treats both sweet and savoury. There's a few coolers along the walls, but as it was a scorching hot YEG day and me with a black backpack, I didn't inspect as well as I might've. Sorry. Next time. There *will* be a next time, certainly, because my YEG kitchen is missing pickled veggies (which are generally a condiment but find their way into my cooking in ways as varied as Indian spiced burgers and eggs with a bit of the oil from the container). There's some dry spices that I need to have handy, for toasting before using, that I have in California but not here. Spice Island inspires me to try cooking further and further afield. Yum!
