The shop is made from an old gas station that was converted into a cafe. They serve pastries along with a wide range of coffee beverages. I always find myself drawn to their seasonal drinks, which are usually themed around something fun. This year's holiday menu was Ice Age themed, but I remember last year being Shrek themed, and I think there was even a Top Gun themed menu at some point over the summer. For the Ice Age menu, I got a Manny which was a Chocolate Orange Mocha drink. I got it hot and it was great! The space inside is quiet, nice, and well lit. It's a great place to get work done. In the past, I've noticed the wifi could be tragically slow, which made some tasks difficult. During my most recent visit, though, I don't recall the wifi being slow at all, so it seems like that issue has been fixed. There is also plenty of outdoor seating if you get lucky with one of the three nice weather days in San Antonio. I really like the coffee here. For such a small shop, they do a great job, and it has become an essential stop for me every time I am in Castroville. I say well trained because sometimes you forget to add things to your order and when the staff can notice that and ask follow up questions that remind you that you missed something it's always a sign of good training. The location is super clean. The coffee (white chocolate mocha, cinnamon Dulce latte) actually tasted pretty good. Shout out to the baristas. I told her that she shouldn't ad live the bill. She replied, "nothing is free" with that snarky tone. I told her that over at Jalisco's two blocks away it is free. Her response, "Go To Jalisco's". She might be one of the owners, if she is Franks? wife, Dorine? or something like that. If so, and if they bought that new location like I heard, then they are looking forward to eking out a living. Jalisco's is so close, so nice, and so cheap. They did fix it up. I am guessing $15,000+. If this is a waitress, get rid of her. She will sink your business, all that money, all those improvements, all for not.
