So I'm a regular at this restaurant. And for a reason. The service is excellent; friendly and attentive. The food is consistently good. I've tried most everything by now; my favorite being Charlie's lunch. I had wings today, and omg are they good. The sauce is not too spicy, the wings are large, and the price is good for the amount of wings you get. They have dark beer, and what looks like a fairly well stocked bar, although other than the dark beer I've only ever had the margarita which was pretty good. There are about a dozen or so Mexican restaurants in Rome, Georgia, but my search for a place where the food and the service are consistently good is just going to have to continue. I've now been to Mi Alazon three times, and have had three very different experiences. The good - Drink specials are truly well-priced. I mean, a large pitcher of Dos Equis for only $7.50? That's pretty good stuff. A large pitcher of magaritas will only set you back about $12.75, too, and I've heard they're scrumptious though I haven't imbibed just yet. The chips and salsa are tasty and served immediately, and the menu offers a ton oftasty and reasonably-priced options. I've had the fajitas, tacos, burritos, and chiles rellenos, all of which are the perfect blend of heat and flavor and more than enough to fill a hungry person right up. My only complaint is the underwhelming guacamole, which is more akin to stuff you'd buy in a jar, not something you'd expect from a generally impressive kitchen. Good food? Nice prices? Yep! What could possibly be the problem? You guessed it - it's the service. Now, every single server I've had at Mi Alazon has been just as pleasant as could be. They're friendly and smiling and if you ask them for something (i.e. more water, a napkin, whatever it might be) you'll get it delivered with a smile very promptly. The problem is that the servers can sometimes forget you're there, and you'll actually have to flag them down to get those needs met. The other night, a friend and I finished eating and sat there with empty water glasses, mostly-finished plates, and most importantly, AN EMPTY PITCHER OF BEER for nearly fifty minutes before we flagged down the server and asked for the bill. We'd have happily had another pitcher, but by then it was too late, and I'm pretty sure he'd have just left us on our own until closing if we hadn't waved him over. The food is pretty good and the service is good. There is usually a bad smell in the restaurant that takes some getting used to.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Rome- and that's saying a lot because I would be content eating Mexican food every day of my life. The food is good, and the service is usually quick and easy. It's a great place to go to get a quick Mexican fix, yummy margaritas and no pressure to hurry and leave. We eat here probably twice a week and my husband no longer has to ask for his favorite hot sauce- they just bring it to him as soon as we sit down. Good people and good food! read more

My friends and typically I come here once a week after we get done at the gym. The food is great, but the service can be really slow at times, especially with a large group. The Jumbo Burrito is fanatic and gigantic, if you like shrimp get the Jumbo Texas Burrito. I usually like to get it with steak and ask them to add chorizo to it. So good! I can't eat the whole thing in one sitting, so the next morning I'll reheat it and add a fried egg on top. read more

Went on New Years day and we were the only one in there at the time. Service was prompt but personally lacked any emotion. It was like the secret service was taking our order, can the servers smile just a little? The food did come pretty quick considering we were the only ones and it was made to order. My son got a shrimp burrito and I got a chimmichanga with no beans. The server did come and give refills quite fast. The food was just OK. The chimmichanga was two small pieces rather than what I'm used to and being one large one. This is tolerable but makes me think I'm not getting as much as I normally would elsewhere. Mind tricks I tell you. The rice was just OK with no flavor. I tried to add salt and pepper but then found I used too much. The chicken was pretty good and my son loved his food. He said the sweat tea was really good, I couldn't tell because I'm a Yankee and don't drink that nasty stuff. It taste like dirty water...all of it! The decor inside has a weird feel to it, so much lime green and even the concrete walls were painted that color. Guess they did the best they could with what they had. I think if the service was more friendly I might give it 4 stars. Its not that they were rude just very dry, seemed uptight and need to lighten up a little. Overall I would rather go to Las Palmas even though the prices would be a bit higher. I would consider going back to Mi Alazan if I didn't want to drive across town or the wait at other places was too long. read more

Ate lunch here today. Food good, service fast, attention, not so good. Felt rushed. Shrimp qasidilla was tasty, was full when I left. Was surprised how large the shrimp was, I liked that very much. The guacamole salad could have used more quac and less lettuce. The rice was bland. Prices were excellent. Would I come back here? Yeah, I will try it again and see how goes it. read more

Try the enchiladas verde. They are not afraid to sauce up their enchiladas with cheese sauce and homemade verde sauce. Now, is the restaurant much to look at? No. Is it clean? Yes. We always get good service there, and we usually never have to wait. read more

Has become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Rome. Food is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the tapatio. The 1/2 pitcher of margaritas at $7.75 is the best deal--and they are hardy and GOOD. They offer dishes that no other Mexican place offers. The pork dishes are wonderful, not dry and tasteless like other places in town. The shrimp is always cooked to perfection as well. this place has AMAZING food. When you look for a place to eat Mexican this is the place you want to go in Rome. However, the service is less than par. Lupe chews her gum like a cow and drops the plates down infront of you. The last two times we have gone in for lunch during the week, the first we inhaled our food and made it back to work, last Friday it took so long that we walked out. Service and friendliness is not a priority here, which is too bad because the food is excellent. read more

Not sure if this is standard or not...but pretty sure my family and I got food poisoning from the ground beef at this place. Even if the ground beef wasn't the culprit, the food was bland and boring and horrible when compared to literally any other Mexican place in Rome. You're better off going to Las Palmas or the Taqueria. read more
