Strange building and squished atmosphere. Very outdated and not the cleanest (don't look at the carpet). The temperature inside was so very hot. When you have a business in Georgia, especially during the dead of summer, you need to make sure the A/C works! The salsa was decent, but not much heat. The chips were nice and hot. The enchiladas and its sauce had an off-putting texture and consistency, almost grainy. The chicken taco salad was delicious, but needed more cheese or something. So, I'm convinced that you can pretty much find good Mexican anywhere in Georgia, but I happened to be up in Rome visiting babe and it was a destination we had to go to because he is a fan. We've been here a few times and it is great and crazy busy. The house salsa and chips are so good you just start craving it out of nowhere! I really enjoy the chicken soup so much so that I keep getting it over and over. For $9.99 you can't beat it. Also, it's served with some really delicious queso fresco Crema toasts Which are oh so good. I've also experienced the margarita's here and they are packing quite a punch for the price! Big disappointment on Cinco de Mayo! Has always been our go to in Rome! Got there @ 5:00pm walked right in. Ordered Chili Poblanos a la carte for me; Loco Shrimp for hubby. This area certainly isn't lacking for Mexican restaurants, and if my review were based solely on the food itself, I'd give it a three or four. Everything is solid (the quesadillas are quite good, the veggies are fresh, and the tableside guacamole is a real pleasure!) but not spectacular. What truly makes this place stand out is the service. I went with a couple of friends after class the other day, and the waitstaff could not have been more accommodating about setting us up on the patio so my dog could chill out with her own bowl of water and plate. We had two different servers, both of whom kept the water coming to humans and canines alike, and both of whom went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. We used to come here all the time. They had great prices and great food. Not anymore. Now they charge a lot of money for bad food. Went yesterday, for 50 dollars, you can feed three, have your drink spilled all over the table, have your order wrong, and no refills on drinks. 2 of us didn't have a drink for half the meal, the only reason the other person did is because it was dumped all over the table. The nachos were bland, the meat was burnt and there was so little cheese sauce that it is not even funny. The El Polo Locco was even off. The other meal was fine after it was remade because it was made wrong. They spilled salsa on one of us trying to clean the table of the spilled drink. I have nothing good to say for the last 2 to 3 visits and it gets worse every time. Spend your money else where. If you want a decent Mexican meal please go else where. I used to recommend this place to everyone, but after yesterday, not anymore. read more

I come here occasionally with my dad and enjoy the food every time. Good food for a decent price, though sometimes the wait staff has been sort of uncommunicative. A lot of them speak Spanish (which is no issues of course) but the staff has been very nice to us. The ventilation system is a bit weak which isn't entirely their fault as it's connected to the Mexican store. Overall a decent restaurant and I enjoy going there. read more

Note: The name of Laredo's has changed to Las Palmas I have never been to a restaurant chain that has better chips & salsa than Las Palmas. I have eaten here a few times, and the food is just as good as other Las Palmas. Interesting Fact: This restaurant appears to have tasks better divided up between its employees, with one person constantly going up and down the aisle checking chips and salsa, another (usually the waiter) check on drinks, and then a Manager taking on all tasks making sure we are okay (which is awesome!). I personally though, still prefer the Las Palmas on Shorter Ave. over this one, because I like being given a separate salsa bowl instead of one big salsa bowl (meaning having to share with others at the table) because of "double-dipping" and I like my salsa with salt, while my girlfriend doesn't. If this Las Palmas gave everyone a salsa bowl (without constantly having to request it) it would of been better. My only other suggestion for improvement, would be that it would be cool if they included cilantro in their salsa like the chain in Cartersville, GA does. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Las Palmas. The best thing I've encountered is the fresh guacamole dip. One of the cooks rolls the ingredients out on a cart and prepares the whole delicious mix right in front of the table. That way, you can control the amount of ingredients in the dip. (For instance, some people hate cilantro, so you can request that it simply be left out.) As for the other fare, I haven't been overly impressed. I got a quesadilla there with shrimp, chicken, steak, and various vegetables. I expected a lot of flavor and was surprised by how bland it was. Then, the next time I went, I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. It, too, was largely flavorless...at least it didn't taste bad, I guess. Thank goodness, because I wouldn't have had anything to wash it down with since my water glass was empty for the last half of my meal! (The service on my first visit was much better.) read more

What a great place for Mexican! Every Time my wife and I are in Rome,Ga which is a couple of times a year we eat there at least once. The food is outstanding and the service is second to none. Be sure you go hungry because the portion sizes are huge. We have not had a bad meal there. The various burrito recipes are our favorite. Every time I visit this particular location, someone (staff) takes a major dump in the restroom and it stinks up the entire booth area!! Turns my appetite and makes me second guess returning to patronize this location again. Been here twice already, first time on a Tuesday and the second time on a Friday. Both times I received average service, I was taken care of but it wasn't over the top stellar. My fiancé and I use to eat here a lot. Tonight we went to eat and they served my fiancé RAW chicken! He didn't notice until he bit into it. Our waitress was awesome, apologized, and got the kitchen to remake the food. The manager on the other hand was horrible! He never came over to address the situation even after our waitress asked him to. He kept peaking around the corner starring at us. That's not how you do business! I am taking a large group of 20 teenagers to Las Palmas, so I called as a courtesy to make sure we could have seating all together and they would have enough staff. When I asked to speak to a manager, she was too busy to speak to me, although I'm not even sure the employee I spoke to even told the manager she had a call. He forgot what one of us ordered and had to come back. He forgot to bring a drink and sounded surprised when we said that we wanted it.
