So, I'm convinced that you can pretty much find good Mexican anywhere in Georgia, but I happened to be up in Rome visiting babe and it was a destination we had to go to because he is a fan. We've been here a few times and it is great and crazy busy. The house salsa and chips are so good you just start craving it out of nowhere! I really enjoy the chicken soup so much so that I keep getting it over and over. For $9.99 you can't beat it. Also, it's served with some really delicious queso fresco Crema toasts Which are oh so good. I've also experienced the margarita's here and they are packing quite a punch for the price! I'm sure babe and I will be back here soon and I can't actually wait because it's a favorite coming to Rome (Georgia)! When in Rome you must try!! read more

Service was fair. The waitress must've been new, she didn't have answers to any of our questions about the menu or adult beverages. Food was fair. Not a lot of flavor and didn't finish the meals. Salad had a lot of water on the bottom of the plate and wasn't very fresh. Just not impressed with the food overall read more

It's been a while since I've been here, but upon Return, it was a pleasant experience. The food was a little better, but the restaurant was very clean and the service was extremely better. read more

Strange building and squished atmosphere. Very outdated and not the cleanest (don't look at the carpet). The temperature inside was so very hot. When you have a business in Georgia, especially during the dead of summer, you need to make sure the A/C works! The salsa was decent, but not much heat. The chips were nice and hot. The enchiladas and its sauce had an off-putting texture and consistency, almost grainy. The chicken taco salad was delicious, but needed more cheese or something. Service was good, but the tables were so squished together, I'm not sure how they function efficiently through a shift. Not sure I would visit here again. read more

Pretty bad. Only thing worth getting is the fresh guacamole, chips and salsa. Out of 10 people nobody said they would return except for guac. read more

Pretty average Mexican food. I found that the burrito and the salsa were a bit flavorless. The service is good though and the chips felt like they were freshly made read more

The service is really good nice and friendly and the food was vey good I would recommend it.

Big disappointment on Cinco de Mayo! Has always been our go to in Rome! Got there @ 5:00pm walked right in. Ordered Chili Poblanos a la carte for me; Loco Shrimp for hubby. Poblanos were entirely too spicy to eat. Had to have water glass filled twice. Quality of food has definitely changed. read more

This location has really gone downhill in the past year. Quality of food is lacking (served cold twice) and up charge for everything. I will not be back. Too bad they essentially have no competition in the market. read more

Always a wonderful restaurant. Every meal we have had here has been great. Delicious, fresh, and large portions. Service is always great too. read more

Check for 99 cent taco night - it made for a crazy good deal as wife & I were in a hurry headed to a show, so had no drinks. Bill was less than $5. Remember to tip well. read more

Excellent food. Great service. Owners are very nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

The menu is huge and so many delicious choices. We went for lunch today and both of us got the Las Palmas Bowl. I got mine Texas style and it was so good. Excellent portions. The margarita on the rocks was awesome too. Can't wait to go back! read more

My husband left his Maui Jims on the table and when we came back to ask nobody saw anything. The food is alright but if you forget something, good luck. read more

My tacos came on flour tortillas. After telling the waiter to put the cheese and lettuce on the side, he brought tacos with just lettuce and cheese. Said he would fix it and then brought it back with lettuce, cheese, lettuce and cilantro. He forgot my margarita, and the food wasn't that great. read more

really getting off on wrong foot with me location (Armuchee), large cheece dip 14.00.. chips were stale as well.. music blaring in the kitchen, food was bland , even the glasses looked as if they were bought at yard sale.. read more

This area certainly isn't lacking for Mexican restaurants, and if my review were based solely on the food itself, I'd give it a three or four. Everything is solid (the quesadillas are quite good, the veggies are fresh, and the tableside guacamole is a real pleasure!) but not spectacular. What truly makes this place stand out is the service. I went with a couple of friends after class the other day, and the waitstaff could not have been more accommodating about setting us up on the patio so my dog could chill out with her own bowl of water and plate. We had two different servers, both of whom kept the water coming to humans and canines alike, and both of whom went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. We'll definitely be making this a regular stop! read more

We used to come here all the time. They had great prices and great food. Not anymore. Now they charge a lot of money for bad food. Went yesterday, for 50 dollars, you can feed three, have your drink spilled all over the table, have your order wrong, and no refills on drinks. 2 of us didn't have a drink for half the meal, the only reason the other person did is because it was dumped all over the table. The nachos were bland, the meat was burnt and there was so little cheese sauce that it is not even funny. The El Polo Locco was even off. The other meal was fine after it was remade because it was made wrong. They spilled salsa on one of us trying to clean the table of the spilled drink. I have nothing good to say for the last 2 to 3 visits and it gets worse every time. Spend your money else where. If you want a decent Mexican meal please go else where. I used to recommend this place to everyone, but after yesterday, not anymore. read more

Authentic mexican food for a good price. The guac is a little pricey, but it's a large portion and very fresh. Their street tacos are always cooked well and have never disappointed me. Their margaritas are quite good too. read more

I come here occasionally with my dad and enjoy the food every time. Good food for a decent price, though sometimes the wait staff has been sort of uncommunicative. A lot of them speak Spanish (which is no issues of course) but the staff has been very nice to us. The ventilation system is a bit weak which isn't entirely their fault as it's connected to the Mexican store. Overall a decent restaurant and I enjoy going there. read more

I am taking a large group of 20 teenagers to Las Palmas, so I called as a courtesy to make sure we could have seating all together and they would have enough staff. When I asked to speak to a manager, she was too busy to speak to me, although I'm not even sure the employee I spoke to even told the manager she had a call. She didn't put me on hold, so I could hear. If you are looking to accommodate a large group, choose another Mexican restaurant in Rome because other places were more than happy to accommodate me and my large group. read more

First I'll start out with saying that the food is excellent. But other than that, this restaurant is horrible. The waitresses are very rude. The floor is dirty, and the prices are way to high. Needless to say, I will not be coming back read more

Note: The name of Laredo's has changed to Las Palmas I have never been to a restaurant chain that has better chips & salsa than Las Palmas. I have eaten here a few times, and the food is just as good as other Las Palmas. Interesting Fact: This restaurant appears to have tasks better divided up between its employees, with one person constantly going up and down the aisle checking chips and salsa, another (usually the waiter) check on drinks, and then a Manager taking on all tasks making sure we are okay (which is awesome!). I personally though, still prefer the Las Palmas on Shorter Ave. over this one, because I like being given a separate salsa bowl instead of one big salsa bowl (meaning having to share with others at the table) because of "double-dipping" and I like my salsa with salt, while my girlfriend doesn't. If this Las Palmas gave everyone a salsa bowl (without constantly having to request it) it would of been better. My only other suggestion for improvement, would be that it would be cool if they included cilantro in their salsa like the chain in Cartersville, GA does. read more

F-O-U-R- !!!!! Yes 4 stars. Cant misss with the guacamole prepared tableside, the chips, salsa. A couple of cold beers and you have a winner. . I don't even like guac...but I LOVE it here read more

I'm not a huge fan of Las Palmas. The best thing I've encountered is the fresh guacamole dip. One of the cooks rolls the ingredients out on a cart and prepares the whole delicious mix right in front of the table. That way, you can control the amount of ingredients in the dip. (For instance, some people hate cilantro, so you can request that it simply be left out.) As for the other fare, I haven't been overly impressed. I got a quesadilla there with shrimp, chicken, steak, and various vegetables. I expected a lot of flavor and was surprised by how bland it was. Then, the next time I went, I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. It, too, was largely flavorless...at least it didn't taste bad, I guess. Thank goodness, because I wouldn't have had anything to wash it down with since my water glass was empty for the last half of my meal! (The service on my first visit was much better.) read more

Great food. Awesome environment. Super fast service. 100% would come back. Bar tender Alfredo was great!

What a great place for Mexican! Every Time my wife and I are in Rome,Ga which is a couple of times a year we eat there at least once. The food is outstanding and the service is second to none. Be sure you go hungry because the portion sizes are huge. We have not had a bad meal there. The various burrito recipes are our favorite. The menu is a bit overwhelming but the wait staff will help guide you through. Make sure you have a meal there while you are in Rome. You won't be disappointed. read more

Been here twice already, first time on a Tuesday and the second time on a Friday. Both times I received average service, I was taken care of but it wasn't over the top stellar. Which I wasn't expecting anyway, I'm not coming here to be pampered. The food here is pretty on point. I'd say it's authentic as you're gonna get in Rome, even with its American flair it doesn't disappoint. Will most definitely be a staple in my restaurant rolodex. Tamales and chilaquiles are a must try! read more

Good service, the food is ok. I don't know if they've ever realized how weak their ventilation system in the restroom is. Every time I visit this particular location, someone (staff) takes a major dump in the restroom and it stinks up the entire booth area!! Turns my appetite and makes me second guess returning to patronize this location again. Please look into getting the restroom area a wall to separate it from the dining area or a better ventilation system. That sh*t is ridiculous!! read more

Some of the worst Mexican food I've had in my entire life. Meat was over salted. Salsa was too sweet. They didn't even know how to make an actually margarita. Only served pre mixed margaritas, that are over sugared and probably had a splash of tequila. We will never go back. read more

My fiancé and I use to eat here a lot. Tonight we went to eat and they served my fiancé RAW chicken! He didn't notice until he bit into it. Our waitress was awesome, apologized, and got the kitchen to remake the food. The manager on the other hand was horrible! He never came over to address the situation even after our waitress asked him to. He kept peaking around the corner starring at us. That's not how you do business! My fiancé could have gotten really sick from raw chicken and the manger couldn't be less concerned. We will never be back! La Parilla and Tarasco's are much better anyways! read more

Thanks to all restaurant workers during this pandemic. This place is consistent. Great staff. Food is fine for a southern Mexican place. I've been many times and will return. Service and food were great.. the smell coming from the restrooms wavered through the dining area.. this needs to be resolved! Also seating at bar area and live music would make a great addition read more

This was our first time here so didn't really know what to expect. We were seated pretty quick and had our drink orders taken immediately. The waiter brought chips and salsa and took our order. He forgot what one of us ordered and had to come back. He forgot to bring a drink and sounded surprised when we said that we wanted it. We asked for mor chips and said yeah I'm bringing it, kinda rude. All he had to say was ok, on the way. He was complaining about not getting to take his break. The food was amazing. I would give it 5 stars if the service would have been better. It was just luck of the draw when we got this waiter. I'm not saying all of the waiters were bad just the one we got. We will definitely be back, just hope we get a different server. I'm not going to say his name but it rhymes with Brian. read more
