This French-Indian "fancy" restaurant was enjoyable, but I was not a fan of the food. We shared several appetizers: the fried fish (OK, but not crispy enough), moelleux paneer (SO GOOD, this was my favorite), and the veggie cakes (good flavor, but didn't like that they were served cold). All of the sauces were tasty, colorful, and flavorful.
We also ordered the veg plate of the day (stuffed tomato with bulgar), butter chicken, banana leaf fish, and a few side dishes. The butter chicken was very rich, if a bit dry. I liked the sauce in the tomato dish, but wish it had been stuffed with a mix of things instead of just bulgar. The fish looked excellent but I didn't taste it, unfortunately. The side dishes were OK, nothing special.
I really wanted to like this place and expected something a bit more exotic. It was very French - beef on the menu (the horror) and nothing was spicy.
Some may like that it's more of an Indian-influenced cuisine as opposed to straight up Indian food.
It should definitely be noted that the staff was great and the atmosphere was pretty cool. I liked the colorful glass light fixtures and all of the mirrors - it made the space seem much larger than it actually is. read more
