Ask the Community - MFRx Myofascial Release

I've had myofascial release before and it worked great - but my question is, will it work with trigger thumb?

Yes! The tendon sheath around the finger is inflamed and swollen. thus preventing the tendon from gliding when you attempt to bend and straighten your finger. Myofascial Release can decrease the inflammation and soften the restrictions in the tendon… Read more

Would myofascial release help an infant with a tongue tie and general body tension?

Most definitely! Infants respond amazingly well to MFR. MFR can also prevent the need for tongue clipping. Please do not hesitate to call if you have questions! Thank you for reaching out to me.

Is this terribly painful? Is it best to get a cortisone shot first?

This is a great question! Myofascial Release is mostly a gentle manual therapy approach. At times, it may be necessary to “go a little deeper” if the fascial restrictions are severe but this is generally the exception. MFR does not include vigorous… Read more

I was able to make an appointment for the following week. The day of the appointment I was taken within five minutes of the scheduled appointment. Dr. Bouffard quickly moved to obtain a history of the medical problem for which I made the appointment. He asked a number of relevant questions and after hearing my history, determining the location of my pain and reviewing my past treatment and medical record of over the past several years, he determined that a cortisone shot was appropriate and scheduled it for the next date I was available. We then spent a few minutes talking about his background and his practice. Overall, I was very pleased with the results of my appointment and grateful to have found Dr. Bouffard.

His demeanor is rude, argumentative and does not engage with the patient. On top of that, if you are in pain and need to get in on the day you call for an appointment there is a $60 surcharge to come in. The pain meds he gave me did zero to help and then he wants to give you more! I ended up going to Cedars Sinai and got the correct specific injection that has relieved the neck pain that I've been dealing with. Run, do not walk away from this buffoon!

As a 20 year combat veteran, United States Marine Corps, I would not recommend this place for my…read moredog to get any pain management. Not only was the doctor late by more than two hours. The office visit only lasted not more than 10 minutes max. I received a bill one year later in the amount of $336. I made multiple calls and asked what the bill was for. She literally did nothing for me. I was in and out in 10 minutes due to the fact that she profiled me. My pain medication, which I've been on for 10 years due to a injury in Afghanistan was the reason for my visit. One of the first question she asked was family history, I told her I really don't associate with my family because they are a drug addicts and been incarcerated in and out of the system their whole lives. The doctor's words verbatim were, " oh, you have family history so you're automatically dependent and high risk addict to be on these medications.' it took everything that I have in me to not get up and kick her square in the chest. That is family history, that is not my history! I literally just paid $336 for a doctor to profile me, a 10 minute office visit on top of her being 2 hours late!! She should not be helping any veteran at all, I will make all appropriate calls who I have to to get her removed from seeing any veterans. She is a sick and disgusting individual who should not be treating combat veterans whatsoever.
