While I was hospitalized at Overland Park Regional Medical Center last year Dr. Adam Kaye did the…read moresurgical procedure to insert a central catheter line (perma-port) to be used as an easy intravenous access site during my upcoming chemo treatments. It's a very quick and simple procedure, but not without some risk because the surgeon needs to be careful that the wires that are part of the apparatus don't actually touch the heart muscle as it's being inserted. In this case everything went fine and there were no problems with the insertion. Approximately a year later the perma-port stopped working properly, and I had completed the chemo treatments, so I had Dr. Kaye remove it at the beginning of April. This was another relatively simple procedure, done at the Overland Park Surgery Center under local anesthesia. It did involve a bit more tugging and pulling than I anticipated, but there was nothing painful about it. My only subsequent concern was that a good-sized lump developed afterwards under the incision that was fairly tender to the touch and looked bruised. Follow-ups with Dr. Kaye (a really nice, cheerful guy, by the way) were reassuring -- sometimes after this kind of procedure where there's a remaining pocket under the skin, where the port had been located, fluid can accumulate during the healing process. There was no infection, the small incision itself has healed nicely, and a month or so later the lump is now considerably smaller as the fluid is being reabsorbed and it's no longer tender. I just saw Dr. Kaye again to check, and he recommended hot compresses on the site to accelerate the shrinking of the remaining lump. That's certainly no big deal to do! I appreciate Dr. Kaye's accessibility and his willingness and ability to explain what was going on, both before the procedure and during the healing process. I've been fortunate to have never had any other surgeries, but that means that I didn't know exactly what to expect at each stage and Dr. Kaye's been good about explaining what I needed to know. Considering this experience, I'd be happy to have Dr. Kaye again as my surgeon if I ever need to have something done, and I can recommend him to others who may need surgery.

Gosh, what to say about Khemraj Physical Therapy. They're amazing!!!…read more I was referred to the office by another doctor for physical therapy that's "outside the box" so to speak. They suggested Khemraj Physical Therapy because Rajesh looks at you holistically. Mind, body, and soul. His methods are unique to the way he believes he can help a person so no two people have the same treatment. Prior to coming to Khemraj Physical Therapy I had been attending another physical therapy office for about 4 months and had stopped atrending because I did see/feel any sort of progress with my injury. In half the time at Khemraj Physical Therapy I've not only seen/felt progress, I've been given stretches and exercises to support my appointments. The atmosphere of the office is refreshing and scheduling appointments has been nearly effortless with their text appointment reminders and flexibility with my schedule. Kayla does an amazing job. If you have the need for a physical therapist and are not sure where to go, you MUST try Khemraj Physical Therapy. I insist!

For background I am a former collegiate football player and multiple deployment USMC veteran. I was paired with Dilyn Schooley who asked lots of questions to ensure that he understood my particular circumstance. On the very first visit my pain abated and my progress has been steady in a positive direction since. We began with nerve flossing techniques, McKenzie exercises and dry needling. We worked on core exercises and graduated to various versions of the same exercise and added new ones. Between the chiropractic adjustments, PT and the home based regimen we created, I am realizing the greatest period of relief in years. My issues are chronic, and require diligence, but the progress until now, October '24, cannot be overstated. Dilyan, the amazing administrative team at the front desk are always helpful and accommodating. I can call or schedule appointments via text. I recently had a billing issue with my insurance(what else is new) and the front desk and I got it sorted. I don't do online reviews but the service and care this team provides is more than deserving. If you come here there will be a plan, it is up to you to listen and work it!
