Meyer Glass - Windshield - Auto Glass Services Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

A rock hit my windshield this past weekend, leaving a dime-size crack on my windshield. I was told that I needed to get it repaired ASAP, before the crack spreads. I did some research on Google and Yelp. There are a handful of windshield repair shops that had 5 stars on Yelp. Unfortunately, they were all very pricey, considering the crack on my windshield is tiny. Meyer Glass provided a much more affordable quote, which was half the price of what the others were offering. I called this morning and asked if I could bring in my car last minute during lunch. They were able to get it fixed by noon. When I arrived, they took care of my car almost immediately. The repair man assured me that the crack isn't going to completely disappear, but it's going to stop the crack from spreading. I waited in the lobby area for less than 30 minutes before they were done with my car. They sealed the crack pretty quickly, and it is a bit smaller than before. It totaled up to be $34.95 but if you pay cash, they give you 3% off! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They even provided a quote if I wanted to replace my whole windshield. I highly recommend going here if you have any issues with your windshield. read more

Yelpers, here is a review that some might find helpful. We have a little Tacoma pickup that suffered a windshield pock from a highway stone. This pock mark began to creep and crawl its way across the glass, assuming the proportion of the San Andreas Fault. So, my quest for windshield replacement began. I called three repair shops, and left the recommended email for a fourth (recommended on their website) searching for 1) the most reasonable price, and 2) the most expeditious. Believe it or not, the first three gave the exact price for the repair, leaving me with the thought that perhaps there was some collusion in pricing here...(kidding). The fourth shop, by the way, never returned my email for an estimate for the repair. Of the three that I contacted, there would be a 2-3 day delay in scheduling, and the repair time for one shop was over 4 hours....they recommended I leave the vehicle for the repair. And by the way, the heralded shop that will take the windshield to wherever you may be...well that is an additional $50.00 for that convenience. I was underwhelmed with the pricing, with the delay in scheduling and in completion of the job..remember...I have a developing chiasm on my windshield. So, what to do? Check the Yelp site, Einstein!! And that is how I happened on Meyer Glass on Popular and Zarzamora. Some may consider the location, shall we say, edgy and a bit "rough". And while I now reside removed from the area, I grew up in the neighborhood. And when the Meyer estimate beat the competition by $120.00, and the job could be completed in an hour, same day, well friends, I had Scotty beam me up and energize me there, like yesterday!! So, this shop is a family business, actually started by the father of the present owner almost 80 years ago!. This is not the slick, shiny operation some may have seen elsewhere. The structure is, well, decades old. There are only 2 bays, and I counted only 4 employees. Small, no frills building, small no frills waiting room: an older, established working business. Upon arrival, my vehicle was promptly moved into the bay, and as I waited, several other customers arrived for window panes, mirrors etc. The other customers were working men and women by appearance, workers needing glass to complete their jobs. A couple offered that they had been customers for some time, and offered that this had been their "go to" glass shop above all others. The install on the Taco truck (aka Tacoma) was completed, as promised in an hour. As the proprietor was completing my bill, I mentioned that I had grown up in the area, and we reminisced about the neighborhood mechanic that both our families had patronized, the remarkable donut shop down the street, the laundry and cleaners...well, this was a walk down memory lane for me. So Yelpers, would I recommend Meyer for windshield repair? For the competitive pricing, the efficiency of the work, and the very good cheer of the proprietor...I would recommend in a New York minute! read more

Had my front windshield replaced in an hour plus for a great price too can't beat it. These guys are the best in San Antonio

Great service, reasonable prices and very helpful. I have ordered all the window glass for my historic home from them. Almost every window was a different size, some by a 1/16 th. 39 pieces of glass and not one was wrong! Nice friendly people too. read more

Great service, even better value for what I was billed. I called them, they ordered part, I made appointment within appr 2 hrs, done in like 40 min from when they started work. All done in same day. Good as new window. The price was extremely reasonable. I assure you that you will likely NOT find a better deal with good, fast service and product for such a low price. read more

Helpful and fairly priced. No run around, just straight talk and exact pricing that didn't change when a few hiccups happened. Happy I found this place for my daughters car. Definitely would recommend!! read more

My truck was broken into by some POS. The low-life smashed in one of my windows. I decided to call Meyer because they did a great job on replacing my windshield in the past. The woman who answered my call told me they didn't have my glass in stock but was able to have it delivered to their shop in 2 hours AND they could have it installed same day AND the price was more than reasonable. When Chris looked at my door, he noticed the scum had broken my power window regulator in the process of smashing my window. Another L for my wallet. So I ran to the parts store and Chris installed everything for me by closing time good as new. read more

Great place to bring your broken windshield for replacement. Great price, professional in every aspect, removal, installation, and best of all the price. I have referred my insurance company to this business. If you go somewhere else you made a mistake. Called Meyer Glass, gave details on my vehicle, they quoted a price and told me to bring the vehicle by at 1:30 PM as the part would be ready to install. I waited for approximately one hour and the windshield was perfect, the attention to detail was beyond my expectations. Great job A+++++. read more

Found this place here on Yelp and it was one of the few that was able to get the glass I needed for my vehicle in a reasonable amount of time and took my insurance without any issues. Dropping my vehicle off was easy enough and they do have a gated area behind the shop where they store your vehicle when it's finished (for those worried about the area). My only issue was post-install something is "off" about my replacement windshield. The heads-up display reads at a weird angle and is significantly blurry whereas it was crystal-clear prior to the install it just had a crack going across most of it. I guess between the two trade-offs the un-cracked, distorted heads-up windshield is safer than the one that was cracked 96% across (especially with all these crazy weather shifts - that actually caused the crack to spread significantly) and although many may not like this location, it's ultra convenient and close by to where I live so not having anyone to drop me off and pick me up, this was only about $10 each way with an Uber. read more

So my poor battle scarred Jeep has now officially seen its fourth windshield...dumb vehicle is only 3 years old =( Found this place on Google and called up....they replaced my windshield for $165 bucks, which was pretty good, pretty sure that's cheaper than the last couple, but anywho...real friendly and good price...the work was done in exactly one hour. I actually forgot that I had 32 bucks hanging in my visor...when the work was done and I paid up, my denairo was still there...so I count them as good peeps. I refuse to give it more than 3 stars based on location, I'm not a fan of the area at all. Zarzamora does seem to be a mecca of mechanics though, I swear I saw 3 Auto Zones within 10 blocks of eachother...weird. read more

Again, Yelp for the win. Needing to replace my windshield, I asked around and heard "Safelite" from everyone. Most people raved, but a few had horror stories. So I asked myself, "why haven't I asked Yelp?". Shame on me. And thanks, once again, to the Yelpers who have gone before and have taken the time to share their experience... you sent me to Meyer Glass Co. The price quoted was lower than Safelite's web-quote, and my service was outstanding. There was a scratch on the first windshield delivered for my car, so they fetched another. They asked if I had time to wait, and I did - in fact I was enjoying my wait, visiting with a longtime customer of theirs (replacing glass on his '51 Ford truck; he said his friend has a glass company, but he still goes to Meyer). The only edge Safelite might have is they'll come to you. I didn't ask Meyer's, so I can't say whether they'd be willing to do it. If they aren't, they might could recommend someone who would. There's no problem with their neighborhood; it's just an older part of San Antonio. People who are weary of the area musta spent their whole lives in suburbs (no offense, Chris L.). Personally, I prefer the way the well-kept old building speaks to the care they put into their work. This place is what Yelp's all about. Local. Quality. Stuff. P.S. I think all the reviews thus far are for auto glass, but that's not all they do. I heard them speak with other customers while I waited, so I know that if they can't do the job for you, they can suggest where you might look next (for example, they sent one man to Plastics Supply off Josephine for his camper window). read more

This place is great. Out of nowhere our car windshield was smashed and we had no idea who or what did it. We needed it replaced and didn't want to pay and arm or a leg so I got on yelp and did some research. We were going to go with safelite because there were convenient and a trustworthy name but when I gave Meyer's a call they said they could do it for over $100 less than what safelite has quoted me. Even better is once we showed up they pulled the car in right away, and everything took about $ 15 minutes from start to finish. Plus they have big windows in their waiting room so I could watch the whole process, which I found interestingly anyways, these guys are great and offer honest prices. Check them out! read more

A couple of gentlemen with an organized, clean, old fashioned little shop who do one thing, and do it well. If that wasn't welcome enough, holy cow it only cost me $145.20 to replace the windshield on my dakota. Friendly and quick. They saw my headliner was hanging and shot some adhesive in there to help me out. Cool, thanks guys. Thanks to the peeps of yelp, wouldn't have found them withoutcha. But Chris L? C'mon man, you removed 2 stars because of the damn location? Alright dude, good job knocking them for not owning a quality business near where you happen to live, the center of the universe. This place is practically in the middle of the city, blocks from that super cool new Interstate 10. That thing is suuuuuper handy. read more

We were on a week long trip to Texas when our windshield was cracked by a pebble on the interstate. These folks are glass professionals - they know auto glass, service and installation. Same day service. Cheaper than my awesome USAA insurance deductible (sarcasm) that wants you to go to Safelite (not well liked) and expensive)... Best quoted price, I received, of all the places I called. In response to one of the other reviews: Sure, not the most "safe" location, but I am not living there and it is centrally located. Had a rock chip destroy a cheap windshield that was installed by Safelite. In a last-minute desperate attempt to find a replacement windshield that fit my budget before a long trip I'm making out west, I decided to give the guys at Meyer Glass a call and see how their pricing and service measured up compared to the 2 others I was considering. After calling and requesting OE Equivalent with the sound barrier like my original OEM had, they came back with an AWESOME quote followed by awesome service. Over $100 cheaper than my next choice and BETTER quality than anticipated upon my arrival. They managed to get me a windshield that is the same brand as all the rest of the glass on my 2018 Tahoe, minus the GM OEM stamp for $245 OUT THE DOOR! I will forever be a Meyer Glass patron and customer! If you need the BEST, ditch the rest and get over to Meyer Glass Co on Zarzamora @ W Poplar...#CountryBoyApproved. Thanks Meyer! read more
