On February 2, 2018 my four friends and I called Mexicana to take us to a bar in Williamsburg. Prior to the pickup, I asked the person on the phone how much it would be to make two stops before our final destination and he said $33. When the driver was a few minutes away from the location my friends and I wanted to get our money together so we asked how much it would be. The driver said $41, I told him that the guy on the phone said $33 and he argued with me that was the price without stops. I told him that when I initially called the person calculated the price with the stops but my friends and I paid $41. We drove in car #126 which was a Black Toyota Suburban. One of my friends sat in the front but my other three friends and I had to squeeze in the second row being that there was no third row. It was a FREEZING night so the driver had the heat on blast and the windows were fogged up. When we arrived to what we thought was our destination, we got out without looking because the windows were foggy. It turns out that the driver drove us to the street we were going to but TEN BLOCKS AWAY from our actual spot. My friends and I were absolutely freezing walking to the bar. When I called the dispatcher back to complain about our driver and ask him to come back, the dispatcher pretended not to know what we were talking about and said none of his drivers went to Williamsburg. I explained the story three times to help clarify but he got rude and hung up the phone. Naturally, being that it is 2018 I'd use uber but since we were so many people, Mexicana was cheaper than Uber. To say the least, I'll pay the extra money next time because these people definitely do not deserve one penny of our money. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are extremely unprofessional and ripped us off because we are young adults in our early 20s. read more

HORRIBLE!! Do not use Mexicana!!! On Saturday, my car was parked on a block in Bay ridge, one of their drivers hit my mirror so hard it completely flipped around, and then drove off! My car could not be driven!! After some major taping, we were finally able to drive to their offices where they assured us they would take care of the problem. I provided him with a description of the car and driver and the last 4 digits of his plate. When I called back the guy had no idea what I was taking about, and told me "It wasnt his problem." Decided to take this car service again as I was running late to class. Lets start with the fact that the driver came and pretty much kept his hand on the horn for a good two minutes waking up my entire neighborhood. Comeplete lack of sense of direction, moved away from the destination only to circle blocks later several times. You may ask why I didn't just give him directions? I was completely ignored due to the fact that he was having an extremely loud phone conversation in Spanish. When that ended he went on to turn on even louder music. Honestly so done with this car service. Switch to UBER! read more

Umm I used to love mexicana but they are rude. They hang up before I get to ask how much a ride is all the time, but today was the last straw because they hung up on me while I was canceling a cab request. It pissed me off because I use there cab every week and have been for almost a year. I deserve better service than that. They are fast, though. read more

Took them a couple of times from Lutheran Medical Center to Sheepshead Bay. The drivers arrived promptly, were nice, and knew how to get where we were going. Plus, they're cheaper than any of the other car services we've used. read more

Thoroughly inconsistent service. Sometimes they are fast and efficient but sometimes you end up waiting 30 min+ with no explanation after they told you the cab will be right away. Had scheduled a LGA pick-up for my family and I. Kept dispatcher posted on late arrival. Driver called me when I landed, said he's at curb. Bags took awhile. He called again, threatened to leave. Given two small kids and pre-booked and midnight, asked him to stay. He said call when outside. When I exited, called him, told me he was gone. I used La Mexicana car service to go to two job interviews in Long Island. Both times the drivers were extremely nice and friendly, and took a lot of stress of job interviews out for me. The first time I used this service I had to change the pick up location at the last minute and the driver was unaware that I was going to Long Island and thought I was going to Brooklyn. Despite these set backs he was patient and understanding and we got there right on time. The second time was also a good experience. I had a female driver and she was really sweet, wishing me luck as I went in for my interview. When I called the second time, the woman over the phone remembered me and my trip which was also nice. And the price was definitely a good deal. I would recommend this car service to anyone in a heart beat. read more

I ordered a cab the other day because I had class 30 min before (mind you it wasn't that long of a ride, maybe 8 minutes) and I expected to get there a little earlier so I called and they said their usual "5 minutes" I told them to pick me up on the corner and it started to rain so I called again and they said "you said 65th?! 5 more minutes" so I waited in the rain and 7 minutes went by when I called again and the dispatcher said "the cab Is on 12th avenue it'll be there shortly!" I used to like mexicana until one day when the dispatcher was really rude to me .I was on Ocean Avenue and Avenue J on the corner ,and that's what I called and said .He said whats the adress ?Then I repeated myself .Ocean Avenue and avenue J on the corner .He said ,"you dont speak English ?" (first strike ) so i went by the nearest building and I gave him the number to make it easier .This was at 6 oclock PM and I had class in half an hour plus the crappy weather.After waiting 20 minutes ,I called to see where is the car .He's like ,"Lemme ask you a question .Why didn't you call earlier ?Why you call after 20 minutes ?" (Second strike ) so its my job to fuckin call or am I supposed to be heading to my destination already ?I saw the car (didnt have any other cab numbers ) after fuckin 30 minutes .If I had taken the b49 I wouldve been at my destination faster than mexicana . So I called Mexicana and not only was the man 30 minutes late, his eyes looked glassy and he just looked off. Right away I thought he was drunk and he seemed to be chewing gum which gave me more of a feeling that he was trying to hide his smelly beer breathe, so I didnt even bother to get into the cab. I can't stand these jerks. Not only do they drive like maniacs all over the neighborhood but they also park all their vehicles anywhere on the street overnight which is illegal. A number of these drivers live in a building near mine in Brooklyn and those lowlifes are about as sketchy as they come. Among other things, some of these taxi drivers blast their horns outside this building at all hours of the night. Do they carry insurance in case of an accident? Are their drivers here legally? Mexicana is the worst car service in Brooklyn. Patronize them at your own risk. read more

They are inconsistent. Sometimes you get a car right away but today I waited over 20 minutes. Barely making it to work on time. I had to call the base 3 times and they claimed the driver was at the wrong address. The driver told me when he finally arrived that he had just gotten the call. Idk why they have such low ratings. Living in NY for 20 years, this is the best car service u can get. Their rates are lower than others and service for me has always been on time. Their rates are even lower than uber from what I have judged. I booked them today for LGA and they gave me a courtesy call 30 minutes before and was by my house at the time I told them. If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. I had called Continental Car Service at 7pm for a 9:15pm pick at JFK. Apparently they didn't have drivers and called in a favor to this joke of a company. I waited outside on the phone with a dispatcher from Mexicana and multiple drivers for 45 minutes while 2 separate drivers sailed past my location many times "not being able to find me." The drivers were near impossible to understand and had me convinced they were at a completely different airport with their inability to locate my explicitly detailed location. The dispatcher was nice... Until I had the audacity to ask for a discounted ride given the 45 min wait time and mounting frustration. He even threatened to have the driver turn around and dump me back at the airport. Apparently good customer service only applies if you call their company and book directly. And since they were "doing me a huge favor" by picking up continental's slack, I guess all I get is rudeness and incompetent drivers at full price. If you have some to be by a certain time avoid this car service there service had gone down hill now they never know the prices so you get a different one all the time and when they tell you the car is 10min away they really mean 1hr... These guys really need to stop over pricing, I took a minivan from the same spot twice going to the same 2 places and the only charged me 16, the other day I called for a regular car from the same spot going to the same 2 places and the guy charged me $20! What is that shit! When I argued with him he said "that's what the base told me" and when I called the base they said they didn't say anything and I told the guy to call the base and he didn't want too.
