It could have used some diced tomatoes and jalapeño though. It was the best item the restaurant has to offer. The chips were lacking flavor. I ordered a chicken burrito. It was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce. It had some chicken, peppers and a few pieces of corn and pinto beans. Very ordinary but edible. My wife ordered tacos. Four of the smallest tacos I have seen were smothered with diced onions. She was also less than impressed. Casita Mexicana is just another average restaurant that tries their best, but just serves the typical "Euro-Mex" food. It just isn't the same as good Mexican food from the Southwestern U.S. (Or Mexico, of course). There were only two other couples in the restaurant, yet the girl sat us in the back, right next to the toilet. Didn't realize it until I was eating and started smelling it. Poor decision by the staff.

Esp the one with chicken in chocolate sauce , and the slow cooked pork one in orange sauce were great . The Salsa tasted like it was made with roasted tomatoes. My wife had Veal Tacos and was surprised by its presentation; baked with cheese melted to encase the meat within the taco shell (see picture). Taste was great, but she was disappointed in not getting what she's used to in the U.S. I liked that they had Veal as an option; not common in U.S. Mexican places. I had the Veal Enchiladas, which I loved! Staff was very nice and the place had a nice hacienda look and feel. Definitely recommended.

We have tried many "Mexican" restaurants in Germany and this is -- by far -- the best Mexican restaurant. We really miss Mexican food being that we're from California and you can tell by the dishes that this is true Mexican cuisine. The owners are from Mexico and if you want to level up your spice to your dish they have other spicer sauces like habanero which is difficult to find in Germany. They decorated really well and have huge painted murals and have Spanish music playing while dining, we will absolutely return the next time we're in Köln.

Hier die Details: Das Essen: Um mit dem Positiven anzufangen - die mexikanischen Gerichte waren wirklich lecker und authentisch. Ein Lob an die Küche! Der Service: Die Dame im Service war zwar sehr freundlich, tat mir aber leid. Sie war komplett auf sich allein gestellt und musste gleichzeitig die Theke bedienen, das Essen servieren und kassieren. Dass ein Restaurant bei vollem Betrieb so extrem unterbesetzt ist, geht zulasten der Gäste und des Personals. Das Management (No-Go): Der Grund für die schlechte Bewertung war jedoch das Verhalten des Chefs beim Bezahlen. Wir wollten einen Gutschein einlösen, woraufhin eine unnötige Diskussion entstand. Da er sich angeblich nicht mehr an den ursprünglichen Wert erinnern konnte, weigerte er sich, den vollen Betrag anzuerkennen, und rechnete nur 50 % des Wertes an. Ein solches Verhalten gegenüber Kunden ist absolut unerhört und unprofessionell. Fazit: Gutes Essen allein reicht nicht, wenn man sich als Gast beim Bezahlen betrogen fühlt. Wir werden aufgrund der schlechten Organisation und des unverschämten Umgangs mit dem Gutschein nicht wiederkommen.

Not very Mexican…read more The Chili con carne is made with beans from a can , not very Mexican, the hen Mexican soup is made with chicken, not very Mexican, the wifi is known only by the chef ..... who never arrived ... who then prepared our food? ... which was not very Mexican . They did not have enough white wine , we asked for a bottle of 13.50 Euros in the menú and they wanted to sell us half a bottle for 10 Euros.... Unbelievable . Last but not least they do not accept credit cards ...., very very disappointing.... Is it because they believe it is the Latin world ???? No to be visited again
