Unfortunately VISA credited the amount as well. After much time on the phone with VISA and trying to explain this to the manager at Kirkland store, I sent her an email Dec 21 to say I would come and pay the amount, and for her to leave an invoice. Instead of leaving an invoice or responding to my email, she sent me a registered "Demand" letter, threatening to send my file to collections!!! I have an excellent credit rating and now this woman threatens me, rather than simply returning my email and setting up an invoice to pay. I contact her and now she is away for an entire month!. What kind of organization are you operating. It may have started as a small family company, but in no way does it reflect the Quebec culture and respect it once did.

Terrible Quality and Service - Avoid Décor-Rest and JC Perreault…read more This has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating purchases I've ever made. I ordered three custom sofas from JC Perreault, manufactured by Décor-Rest, expecting high quality and durability. What I received was anything but. After waiting six months for delivery, one of the sofas started to fail within another six months--springs were literally coming out of the seat. It took over a month for anyone to come and fix it. Fast forward eight months, and the same sofa broke again in the exact same way. This furniture is in the home of an elderly woman, with no children, no pets, and very light use. If a sofa can't survive in that environment, I can only imagine how quickly it would fall apart in a home with young children or animals. It's not only disappointing--it's dangerous. The fact that this happened twice with the same piece shows a clear failure in Décor-Rest's quality control, and JC Perreault's after-sales service was slow and unhelpful. They were quick to take our money but nowhere near as responsive when things went wrong. A sofa of this price and brand reputation should last for years--not fall apart twice within less than two. This is not an isolated issue; it's a warning sign. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from either of these companies. Buyer beware: you're on your own once they deliver.

C & B was a home store that I looked forward to checking out quite a bit in the late 90s and early…read more2000's. Their style was fresh and modern but also had some classic clean items plus bold colours. Since their foray into Canada they have carried this similar business model that I once remembered 20 years ago when visiting the gargantuan stores in SF, NYC and Chicago. The store here at Carrefour Laval is well laid out nicely decorated and offers lots of items. However I'm a bit surprised how much their items appear to cost in Canada. Sure I know this place is not Ikea particle board furniture AKA kill your fingers putting together with a mini hex wrench. However Cadillac Fairview (Carrefour Laval) must be charging a stranglehold rent for them to have to charge what they do for items at a mall location. Selection is very good and they have high quality items. Really you can decorate the house to make your place look snazzy! A great place for office worker gifts or for the wifey or GF to get you out of the doghouse. If you are patient check out some of their name brand items and order online. You will definitely find cheaper.

If you like finding one-of-a-kind furniture or decorative pieces, statement pieces or antiques…read morewhich might have some interesting story attached to it, then you owe yourself a visit to Shivam Imports. Located in the ground floor of a warehouse straddling the very top of De l'Eglise Avenue, St. Patrick, the Lachine Canal and underneath the highway, I would never have even guessed or known about this place if it wasn't for the fact that my brother recently bought a beautiful, hand-carved wooden table here from Rajasthan, India - the kind you see in decorative magazines, high end lofts and spas or super posh furniture stores only you're too scared to look at the prices there. Here, you can look at them all you want and you'll be floored at the bargains you'll find, no joke. Shivam Imports is normally a wholesaler but they do sell to individuals and the prices are more than reasonable for the sorts of pieces in their showroom, but you need to make an appointment to visit their showroom (at the moment). So despite the appointments and out-of the way location, it is well worth your while to stop in and have a good look. You won't regret it. First off, this ain't no IKEA. You'll find hand-carved teak tables, antique mirrors, crazy pillars which look like the belong in a palace of some Maharajah, antique finished cabinets, candle-holders, unique pieces like wooden headboards. Stuff no one you know will ever have because everything here is so individual and unique. If you're like me and don't like generic anything, love old-fashioned quality then you'll just love it here. Andrew the owner is a really chill, easy-going guy and often buys pieces directly in India and makes trips several times a year there. If you're thinking of re-decorating, need some ideas or inspiration or looking for that one unique mirror to place in your room or a conversation-piece coffee table, look no further.
