Scott was our photographer for our wedding but also our engagement shoot. My husband and I are not models and we needed a lot of hand holding to say the least. Scott was calm, kind, and professional (and funny!) the entire time we worked with him. When there's so much going on and you feel like the world is spinning, it's nice to have someone there to guide you. Scott had no problem directing us while also checking in to make sure we were okay (it was cold and windy on our wedding day!). And on top of that, the pictures he takes are breathtaking - it takes a talented person to be able to cut through chaos and get a beautiful picture out of it all. When you're getting married, you don't know what to expect. You hope you can plan it all but in reality, you never know what's to come. Having Scott with us felt like we had an anchor. I think it's important to see his pictures and determine if his style is right for you but I also think it's important to consider how genuinely helpful and caring he is. He went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be more grateful. The fact that we have these beautiful pictures to capture one of the best days of our lives is priceless. Scott was wonderful to work with from the beginning of our 2 year engagement period up until the days (and months) following the wedding day! He is responsive, considerate, and has a great eye for detail. We did an engagement photo session with him where he had plenty of location suggestions to guide us in what we envisioned, and then brought takeaways from that session into our wedding day. My husband and I are very casual and love a good crowd! Our wedding guest attendance was ~180 people and a majority under 30 so it was LIVELY to say the least. Scott captured all the high energy fun in his creative shots and moved around the venue space seamlessly to secure the key moments. Our sunset pictures and final wedding album came out absolutely stunning! He worked so well with my children, capturing such beautiful pictures that reflected their personalities perfectly. Scott is a passionate and a skilled photographer with an eye for details. He makes sure that lighting, angle, subjects and everything else in his frame are in perfect harmony to convey the emotions of the couple. He photographed both our engagement and wedding and both turned out much nicer than we could imagine. In both the events he came earlier than the starting time we proposed. Before we reached the site, he already checked the surroundings and set his camera in proper position. If you are searching for your wedding photographer, look no further!! I came across Scott's page after looking through portfolios & reviews of what seemed like thousands of Boston area photographers. After meeting with him we were so excited to be working with him, and it turned out to be one of the best wedding decisions that we made!! His patience, professionalism, and talent are truly out of this world. We can't even count the number of people who have told us how amazed they are with the results of Scott's photography. So many have said his photos are the best they've ever seen!! When we saw the photos we were in awe of how much he captured; on our wedding day I didn't want to spend any time doing formals, so Scott basically had a few rushed minutes to capture what he could. When he sent us the proofs (LESS than a week later!!!!), it looked as though he had hours to set up each perfect shot! So many guests at our wedding commented on how impressively stealthy and non invasive Scott was during the ceremony & reception. I honestly don't remember seeing him at all the whole night other than the couple of direct conversations I had with him- and when I saw the hundreds of photos that he took, I couldn't believe that he got so many amazing photos while somehow remaining virtually invisible! In addition to our wedding photos, we did engagement photos with Scott, which he turned into a beautiful guest book for our wedding- his turnaround time is so quick and as unbelievable as his pricing. My husband and I decided to inquire Metzger Studios after being at a venue and looking through albums. Every album we were drawn to was from this studio. The first time we met Scott we knew he was the perfect person to capture our day. He had a great personality, an awesome sense of humor and his love for photography and his edits was evident. The day of the wedding Scott arrived on time and ready to start. He asked hair and makeup artists if he could adjust the lighting for a brief time to get some shots. He worked so quickly hair and makeup didn't miss a beat. The makeup artist actually said "I'm hiring him if I get married!" At the wedding Scott and his assistant continued to exceed our expectations. Scott seemed to have his eye on everyone at all times. He would approach my husband and I at the perfect moment, where we had a good amount of downtime, and steal us for some photos. He worked so efficiently I'm not sure if he was taking a hundred photos in 5 minutes or it just felt like 5 minutes! I can't say enough about Scott Metzger. Not only did he deliver all the photos to us just over a week after the wedding, but they were amazing! He really was able to capture every special moment of the wedding. He knew to ask about any traditions, special items or photos we wanted to take, but he also just knew exactly where to be and when. The pictures are truly amazing and artistic. He is great with up close shots, action shots and wide angle landscaping shots. Its amazing what he can do with the lighting too. Just unbelievable. I would highly recommend him over and over again! Not only is he great at getting every shot, but half way through the reception I had to actually look for him. When its your wedding it's important that the photographer capture the moments, but also kinda fades into the background to allow your guests to really let loose on the dance floor. There is nothing like a photographer that is in guests faces making them self conscious about their dancing skills. Scott had a great way of commanding the bridal parties attention to get them into the poses he wanted (during the posed part of evening). He had some great jokes that got real laughs out of people to capture REAL smiles! He's the kind of guy you actually want to be friends with after the wedding!!! This is my first ever online review of anything. That right there should reinforce how incredibly AMAZING Scott and his assistant, Katherine, are. We searched and talked with several photographers when we were planning our Veterans Day wedding, and fell in love with the photos from Scott's blog and portfolio. When we saw those, we knew we had to work with him. His communication throughout the entire process was clear and concise, and we appreciated the direction he gave us on the day of our wedding. Neither of us knew what we were doing (aka where to look, how to pose, all that stuff you anticipate to be really awkward with a photo shoot), but everyone felt really comfortable doing what we needed to, especially with the little random jokes Scott threw out to help lighten the mood. We had also put together an entire list of places to go take photos, but completely ran out of daylight (poor planning on our part). We only made it to one of our major locations, yet Scott and Katherine made it work so well. Oh, and did I mention it was only about 27 degrees outside?! What troopers! We did our photo shoot quickly and efficiently, and Scott made sure we were back in time to enjoy our cocktail hour before the reception. Then, during the reception, he was everywhere (just envision Superman basically). We could not have asked for a better photographer, and we absolutely cannot wait to see how the photos turn out!
