Replaced valves and water supply line on a rush basis. The work was scheduled quickly. The plumbers arrived on time, were professional and courteous. The replacements were taken care of as fast as possible. I recommend their services! read more

BUYER BEWARE! Robert Metzger Plumbing's web site is misleading when it comes to pricing for services. I needed a simple hose bib replacement for a house in the Graduate Hospital area of Philadelphia which should fall in the basic category of service. I received a bill 240% above that rate, and only a small portion was for parts. This business sent two plumbers for a one person job. They were on site for about 30 minutes. One individual was clearly the more skilled, and should have completed the job alone. Upon setting the appointment for this simple repair I should have been informed that I would be billed for two people to come do a one person job and I would have declined. read more

Top-notch service here. Jeff, OJ, and Robert provide old-school professionalism and integrity, and exceptional craftsmanship. This is a team that understands how a whole building is put-together, and their work is thoughtful, precise, and built to last. We've hired them for various jobs, and they were always tidy, respectful of our home, and easy to be around. I recommend this team for home plumbing services and renovations alike! read more

Called on a Saturday morning with a leaky kitchen faucet. Jeff and OJ came right out, then went to the plumbing supply store to grab me a new faucet. They were very professional, came prepared and did an excellent job. I was very happy with the end result and the price. I will be using them in the future and recommending them to friends and neighbors. read more

10/10 stars per services rendered by Jeff and OJ. They were professional, clean and tidy and even cleaned my tub after (cleaned up after themselves) unclogging the drain. Jeff and OJ are old school plumbers with precise expertise, they really do pride themselves in quality work. I wouldn't be comfortable using anyone else for plumbing needs. read more

They do any amazing job. They are very meticulous and knowledgeable. When they were finished with my bathroom it looked like I had nothing done.. they are impeccably neat. Thanks Jeff and OJ always being reliable and quick thinking read more

Horrible company the guy Jeff came to my house to fix a leak for a faucet and fix the leak and didn't screw the faucet on tight now my faucet is completely loose and you can view the pipe that behind the faucet when I called less than 24 hours back about the issue he attempted to argue that it was like that and he will come to fix it I called several days throughout the week to see when he will come back out to fix the issue he kept giving me the run around and never came to fix the issue I had to pay another plumber to come out the fix issue. Due to Jeff over charged me for the issue is insane I will never recommend this company to anyone once they get they money they say screw you and they don't care they don't value their customer at all. Horrible I will stay away! read more

We've used Mr. Metzger's services several times in the past, but can't help but feel overcharged for $165 after a call that took 10 minutes max with no parts needed. After inquiring about the breakdown, we were informed his hourly rate is now exactly that (not quite 2x when last visited), which certainly gives us pause to using his services again. read more

Water heater broke around 2:00pm this Friday afternoon. Got a callback within 10 minutes. Had a plumber at my house within 30 minutes. New water heater was delivered and installed by 4:00 pm. Techs cleaned up well and were very respectable. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the outcome. Perfect. read more

Very friendly when I called and came same day for a sink disposal. Definitely feels like a family run business and we are happy to support. Serviceman was really friendly, Covid-safe, and professional. Gave us some pointers and was in and out. read more

Terrible service at very high prices. Rob Metzger talks a good game, but that's all his company does well. He never lowers himself to actually touching a pipe, and so his employees that do, do what-ever half-@ssed job their obvious lack of training enables them to perform. Was forced to hire a second plumber to undo the mistakes his crew made and then finally install the plumbing and fixtures the job I originally hired Metzger to do. read more

Showed up early and fixed our toilet issue two hours after I had called. Will definitely use them again if we run into future problems.

Robert literally kept me on the phone for 15 minutes talking trash about other Philly plumbers and Roto-Rooter. THEN NEVER SHOWED UP OR RETURNED A CALL. read more

Finding a contractor can be daunting. More often then not, contractors either never show up for the estimate or never get back with a quote. That was not the case with Robert. First off, he showed up for the estimate, on time. About a week later he came back with a fair price for the work and good general availability to do it. Permits were pulled, crew showed up literally to the minute on time, and the work was impeccable. I could have not asked for a better job. They even did a thorough job cleaning up. I could barely tell they had been there that day! In short - if you're looking for someone reliable and competitively priced, don't hesitate to reach out to Robert Metzger Plumbing. read more

Excellent service and very professional. I would like to appreciate Mr. Metzger for his great help during this difficult pandemic time. I am a frontline worker and needed a washer to be installed ASAP. Many plumbers could not accommodate my request and offered to do it for very high price. I called Mr. Metzger. When he heard my story, he sent one of his technicians, Anthony, to my place within one hour. Anthony installed the washer for a very reasonable price. I am so grateful for their help, understanding and professionalism. They made me feel that I was part of the family. I will recommend Metzger Pluming to anyone who needs a great professional work. Thank you again! read more

I've used this company several times since I bought my condo. Quick response time, personable and efficient. I believe they are only handling emergencies during the Covid crisis, but I had one and my faucet was fixed within an hour of when I called! read more

Great, professional plumber. Reasonably priced and responsive. Bob was a pleasure to work with. It's great to have tradesman that you can trust. read more

Mr. Metzger proves experience is worth every nickel. When you deal with Rob, he will have folks do the work but you are paying him for the expertise he brings. He ran a project to dig up the water line coming into our basement last December (what an awesome Christmas present). Thanks to his experience, he was able to properly diagnose that the leak was in our line from the street to our basement, saving us from having to dig up to the main (which was another 6000 dollars!!!). Besides the quality work, every time we have called Mr. Metzger, he is extremely attentive and very accommodating with us. Just an honest, awesome plumber. read more

Nothing sounds better than to be told "it's not a big deal." Returned home from vacation to find a puddle in our finished basement and discovered a leak from the water service pipe. Called Robert Metzger Plumbing at 9:30 a.m. and the leak was repaired within an hour. Plus, Robert is a great guy! Highly recommended!! read more

I called up because had some pipes freeze. I had isolated the pipes that were the problem and had tried everything I could think of but the problem was still unresolved. On the phone, he explained to me the TRUE source of the problem and gave me a plan going forward. Within 30 minutes I had hot water running with no problem. I cannot speak to how they are in person or their timeliness, but I can say that providing some free advice on the phone instead of just hanging up or saying they cannot do anything without showing up was truly appreciated. This is the kind of local business that we need more of. Thanks! read more

The quality didn't meet the price at all. Hired for plumbing part in our remodeling project. The scope was clearly outlined (prepare the piping for connecting with shower and sink faucet, connect the bathtub), they estimated it for 4 hrs of work + cost of parts to be delivered by them. Spent an hour of paid time for waiting for the required parts to be delivered by their guy. Failed to complete the scope within initially agreed time, didn't connect the bathtub. When installing the faucets we revealed, that they mixed the pipes with hot and cold water when routing the necks. Had to reroute ourselves at the end. I really regret that I couldn't stop paycheck. It was a shame from their side. Will never hire them again. read more

Can't say enough about Metzger Plumbing. Get a couple of estimates if you need to - you'll go with Metzger!

Fast and fair. What more can you ask for , you will not be disappointed hiring Metzger plumbing

I can't recommend --or thank-- Metzger Plumbing enough. Rob returns your call promptly, shows up as scheduled, and does a great job for a fair price. My experience with Metzger was in direct contrast to a dreadful experience I had with his "competitor" just months ago. Save yourself a major headache and just call Metzger. read more

Metzger today replaced a section of 3" pipe on the side of our home's steam boiler (the equalizer aka Hartford Loop). They get 5 stars for these reasons: 1. Good quoted price. 2. Showed up 15 min. early to do the work (amazing). 3. Diligently did the work. 4. Work was perfect. 5. Left work area neat. 6. Nice guys, very professional. Will definitely use them again. read more

I have used these folks 3 or 4 times over last 3 or 4 years and never got around to leaving a much-deserved review. They are great. They come on time, are clean, and they totally know what they are doing which can save you both time and money. It was "anthony" who came out most if not all the times we called and we were 100% satisfied. read more

I am writing my review a year later because I JUST learned that I was ripped off from last year! I didn't write a review then because the service was sub par at best, but my problem was fixed. On December 23, 2012 , my roommate declared there was no more hot water. As a new homeowner, I was terrified that my family flying in for the holidays would not have access to a hot shower. I panicked and went straight to Yelp for plumber suggestions. I happened upon Robert who was kind enough to come out a few hours later. He arrived and told me that there were too many 90 degree turns in my piping connected to the hot water heater and thus my water heater was working too hard and giving up. Ok....my hot water heater is lazy. So, he was going to send someone else out to make the adjustments to the piping. He needed a check for $250 (parts + labor). Done. My mother , who works for Whirlpool, was a silent observer, until it came time to pay. She told him that she had looked at the water heater and it was indicating an error message by blinking a certain number of times. He dismissed that and said that he knew what he was talking about and that the error message was due to the piping. My mom retreats-to let me learn a lesson. Another man comes, changes piping, leaves, no hot water. Another guy comes , observes previous work, calls other two guys who were previously there, leaves, no hot water. ALL 3 men come back, speak in hushed tones in the basement, decide my problem is the blower- a malfunctioning part, call Bradford White (manufacturer), order part, tell us it will be in after Christmas, leave, no hot water. My mother diagnosed the exact problem by paying attention to the error message that the hot water heater was sending out. I decided to trust the plumber I paid money to. Too shorten this up, the problem was fixed, but it took a lot of calling Robert (once the part came in) to have him come back and install it. It took him under two minutes to install. Fast forward to today when I go into the basement because I am having the same problem. I pay attention to the error message and then call Bradford White on my own. Guess whose hot water heater is still under warranty until 2015?! Mine. All of the parts are covered as well. I paid Robert $250 to fix something that was covered under warranty. For someone in the plumbing business for years, it is odd that he chose to ignore the error code on the unit. Funny how that worked out well for him. The moral of this story is listen to my mom-she is always right AND don't use Robert Metzger. I found him to be dishonest. read more

I have a sani-flo toilet in my basement that got clogged and stopped working a few months ago. I initially used Roto-Rooter to try and fix it (HUGE MISTAKE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!), and after their first $350 "repair" stopped working less than a month after the technician came out, they told me I would need to replace the whole toilet for over $1,000. I called multiple local plumbers who refused to work on sani-flo toilets, until I finally called Metzger Robert Plumbing. They sent a technician (Anthony! Thank you, Anthony!) out two days later, who was able to fix our toilet for $140!! I really appreciate their professionalism, customer service, timeliness, and most of all their affordability. Thank you, Metzger Robert Plumbing! You saved me a lot of money, and now I can pee in my basement bathroom again!!! :) read more

Great experience. My heater needed to be replaced. Called Rob Monday afternoon and he came over same day and on time! He explained what he would do in detail and sent me a quote that night and told me when he could do the job,( 3 days later). He arrived in the morning as schedule, on time and totally prepared. When job was finished, everything was cleaned up, very neat. He also called later that day to make sure everthing was OK. This will be the plumber I will use from now on. He also had the best price (I had 2 other bids) and was the most knowledgable. read more

After finding my old water heater leaking, I called a friend owns several rental properties he recommended Metzger plumbing. After speaking to them about the existing unit, they gave me quote for the whole job and scheduled the work for the next morning. Arrived earlier than expected, which was fine, looked things over, talked about the options and resolved a problem with the new heaters being too wide by finding an equivalent model that was taller and narrower. From arriving to leaving was just two hours. The plumber who did the work was extremely nice and helpful. Based upon this experience, I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others. read more

I called for service and they came out the next day and fixed the pipe within an hour. Very professional and the price was very reasonable. I will use them again. read more

A little pricy but more importantly, Robert is honest and does a good job. I have been ripped off before by plumbers I picked from the yellow pages - the last time, after being quoted $1,200 for a leaky pipe in the bathroom by the company I picked from the yellow pages (They exaggerated the nature of the problem), I turned to Robert and got the job done for $90. I have had them install a new water heater for me at my home as well as work on an old gas furnace (hot water system) in a rental property I own, which they succeeded in fixing. I am a big fan! read more

Rob came during the freezing cold week when everyone's pipes were freezing. He completely fixed my kitchen sink and drain issues and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. Great Experience! Immediate call back. Was able to easily fix a shower valve that two other plumbers couldn't be bothered with. Advised me to check with manufacturer to receive free parts rather than charging me and remained in contact in between appointments. Also replaced hot water heater. Overpriced, unprofessional and insulting. Lied about being able to get out there that day. Lied about calling me the next day. Waited 3 days to be told they could get out there till Friday. Then had a huge estimate. I had already recieved an estimate for less than half when They finally got there. Then the guy gets irate with me for wasting his time. I WAITED THREE DAYS FOR YOU TO CALL ME BACK. read more

called Metzger, on Friday, said they would have a plumber out Monday morning. He shows up and looks at the problem, and fixes it without all the b.s. I got from other plumbers who came out and wanted to charge me 250 to 4 hundred dollars more and do this whole big smeal. Anthony came out and looked at it shut off the water, and fixed the leaking in my tub. He did tell me that my tub guts are old and will eventually need to be replaced, but he fixed the washers, and gave it the once over. no more leak. Gave me a 30 day guarantee and was on his way in about an hour. i definitely will call Metzger again for my plumbing problems. Anthony was great, you can tell by his being that he was an up and up guy. Thank you Metzger! read more
