We have been here regularly for various purposes - walking, taking our kid to the play area, playing basketball or tennis. This is one of the few parks that also has a pickleball facility. The parking is in pockets in different parts of the park and easily accessible from Highland Park Main Street.

I was pleasantly surprised by how courteous and polite other dog owners were too. Every person picked up after their dogs and actually were paying attention to what was going on. Although I appreciated the overall cleanliness of the park, there was construction going on that made parking difficult and confusing. I ended up parking in a residential area and trekked my way there with two beagles in tow. I also wished the bathroom and the water fountains weren't shut off for the season. Aside from the small inconveniences we had, I had a wonderful time perusing this dog park facility. I look forward to hosting another beagle meetup here in the future.

Central Park of Morris County is located on what was once Greystone Mental Health Facility. After…read moreit was demolished in the early 2000's, it was reconstructed in 2008 as a county park. Today the park is a large athletic complex featuring 2 inline hockey rinks, a 2.5K cross country course. 2 sand vollyball courts, 1 artificial turf softball field, an 18 Hole Disc Golf Course, 4 artificial soccer fields. walking paths through meadows & wooded areas, a kickball field, a playground area designed for 5-12 year olds. The playground area has a lot of different apparatus, rubber ground cover and benches. Fully equiped reatrooms can be found in lot 4. Lastly, the park has a dog park. The dog park has a section for small dogs, 2 sections for large dogs, and short wooded area with a path. The dog park is completely fenced in, well maintained, clean and spacious. There are obstacle courses, as well. The drawback is the grass and dirt areas after wet weather. Additionally, there are no trash containers in the fenced in areas. Bring water for your dog

Add a parent I really appreciated that it wasn't too crowded on a Sunday morning and all of the children there were patient and well behaved. Since it's a bit further away we won't be there daily but will certainly make the 20 minute trip again!

Came here with the family after receiving the township news that fireworks for Independence Day…read morewould be held here. It's a small park and has some parking but it's small. The waterfront brings cool breeze on hot summer days which is a plus. There's also restrooms which is a plus. The only problem is the restroom has no air condition so imagine the funky oder! Phew...! There is also no soap so I'm glad I had my hand sanitizer right after washing my hands with only water. There's also a stage performance of live band which was awesome for entertaining everyone while we wait for fireworks in the dusk. Because many others were here with their pets and also seeing the fireworks, there's so much traffic and road closures with cops detouring all traffic. The firework show above the waterfront was up front and very beautiful. I will definitely come back again next year but definitely earlier to get better parking. After certain time, you can't drive your vehicle into the park. The cops make people find parking elsewhere and the walk into the park gets pretty lengthy.

Both sides have water available for the dogs and a number of different obstacles for them to run around on off-leash and areas to drink, but also some random puddles. Owners have to keep an eye on their dogs, so even if they are social sometimes they can fight. Almost all the dogs I've met here have been pretty nice though. Lot of bugs at the edges, though, especially in the muddy areas, and I killed a tick I saw, too, so you have to be careful. Parking can get quite busy at peak times.

So much to do here I'll just ramble off a list of what you can find here: walking and biking the miles of paths, tennis courts, grassy areas for solitude, a reflection park with landscaping and stone benches arranged in an oval, barbecue and picnic areas with built in stand up grills, picnic benches and a few covered large areas for entertaining large groups with nearby running water from a hand pump (check park website for availability but I believe it's first come first served for the covered picnic areas), TONS of parking all around the park for easy access, babbling brooks, cute bridges, a really nice man made pond with an island and best yet, BATHROOMS all over!
