The experience was like a therapy session. Dan talks with you about your daily life and how it weighs on you. Then he focuses on certain areas to relieve things like stress or pain. He placed needles from my toes to my face. It didn't hurt and he used needles that were in sealed packages. His location is very clean and comforting. It felt like I had a massage after I was finished and I was super relaxed. Like I said before, I haven't been for acupuncture anywhere else, so I can't say how Dan does things compared to another location, but I can tell you that I felt at ease even though I hate needles and that I would go back if it wasn't so expensive*. *Heartpath was actually cheaper than the other places that I checked out. I think it cost me $70 for the session and it lasted about an hour.

I'm willing to try rescheduling but am somewhat skeptical considering I'm a new client and it's been a bit rocky.

I've been treated for months for polymyalgia rheumatica and, more recently, a radiculopathy. Prednisone, Naltrexone and PT provided inadequate results and a 20 lb weight gain. Severe pain has kept me awake almost all night on multiple occasions. I was ready to try something else. Kathryn provided enormous, immediate relief. I'm told it usually takes a while but that response is often seen with severe pain. I just came back from an intense week at an adult band camp that would not have been possible without her help. Some people who practice chinese medicine just put the needles into you and never really explain the why and the purpose, they tell you very little and stay very quiet, so you are left feeling like sort of like a blind mouse trying to chase your own health issues. You can feel around you but can't quite reach it and you are left feeling dependent. Anne's treatments empower you to be part of your own healing . You get the benefit of her years of Yoga experience and the wisdom from that practice. She is a friendly face in a mysterious profession.
