Escalators and elevators are available to reach the train platforms. It takes a few minutes to get to train platform level as the escalators go very deep underground. There is also an elevator from the outside ground level to the lower level station entrance on the Northeast corner of Nieuwe Vizjelstraat and Weteringshans. Once you reach the station entrance level you must scan your ticket (physical or digital), chipped credit card, or QR code from relevant transportation pass at the electronic turnstile entrances to enter. You must also scan the same method upon exit, so make sure you have enough funds or time on your card so you don't get stuck inside a station! Ticket machines are available at the station entrance level too. Happy travels!

It's a rare sighting of an indoor station for a tram network, compared to a stand/station built on street level. I did find the station slightly difficult to navigate as it does have different entrances for each direction, but there was staff inside the station who spoke English and were happy to point me in the right direction. The station was fairly modern and clean, and easy to find the platform once you were inside the right building, built in 2004, it still felt modern and fresh. The station has both lifts and a small staircase, the staircase is quite open and the steps are very light, making them much safer and more accessible than a regular metro station. I didn't notice a ticket machine, but I didn't purposely look for one, as I already had my Tourist Day Ticket. PRO TIP: For €14.50 you can buy a Tourist Day Ticket which gives you unlimited travel on HTM and RET, meaning it covers the metro, trams and buses in both The Hague AND Rotterdam and can be purchased from most metro stations. 4* - I enjoyed getting the tram from here, a very open, modern and unique tram stop, yet clearer guidance on entering the right part of the station to make sure you get on the right service is essential, especially for tourists as this is right in the centre of The Hague and one of the busiest stations on the network.

The M52 metro line (or subway line for us New Yorkers) serves this station; the line traverses between Amsterdam Zuid (south) and Amsterdam Noord (north), hitting most of the central neighborhoods in between. Walking, it's about 8-10 minutes north of the Amsterdam RAI commuter train station and the RAI metro station with the M50 line. Descent into the station is via escalator, elevator or stairs. Ticket machines are available though I don't recall seeing a manned kiosk. This tram station has a small seating area with some glass that will probably protect you from some of the rain but not if the wind is blowing. It's very exposed, which is normal for Amsteram's tram stops. There is no ticket vending machine here but there is a sign that will tell you how long you're waiting for the next three trains. This stop services lines 1, 2 and 5 as they head to and from Centraal station, in this part of town along the Leidsestraat. You will need to board the tram at the appropriate marked doors as two are for getting on and two are for diembarking. The center door has a staffed desk where you can buy a ticket. If you already have a card, scan it at entry (and exit). [Review 12098 overall, 1881 of 2019.]

The entrance looks like any other station on the Metro, and there are a small number of ticket machines. I didn't notice any staff around the station to offer assistance. The station is fairly small, but that isn't a bad thing, there's a single platform for two tracks, the left side is one direction, and the right side is the other, with all three lines serving the same platform. This is great if you do need to change lines, although you will need to be alert and pay attention before boarding your train to check you're getting on the right one. 3* - OK, average station on the Metro, It serves the Nieuwmarkt square in central Amsterdam and is a useful station to change between lines. It is also right next to De Wallen, so would be the station you'd use if heading to the Red Light District or Amsterdam's China Town.
