Amsterdam has quite a few trams and we were able to use the tram to easily get from Centraal Station to our Airbnb, which was closest to this stop on the Keizersgracht (Emperor's canal). Very exposed as the station is on the bridge over the canal. Yes, there is some glass to block the wind but on a chilly, rainy day, it was rather uncomfortable.
This stop is serviced by Tram 4 between the Prinsengracht and the Rembrandtplein stops. There are no ticketing machines here but there is a sign indicating how long you'll need to wait until the next train. From the stop, you can see a few blocks in each direction so that you can also see the tram coming.
Note that you need to board through the appropriate doors of the tram. There is one next to the driver at the front of the tram and there is one in the middle of the rear section of the tram, which had a staffed counter if you need to purchase a ticket.
