I have to say, Nina is by far and away the best landlord I've ever had . . . we were only at her property a year, but she was great during that time. The previous tenants had been there several years, so naturally, there was a lot of stuff that needed fixing or broke within our first few months at the property. Nina was amazingly fast in her responses and had repairmen out to fix things in a jiffy!
The one small snag (which is by no means Nina's fault, more so just warning potential renters) we ended up moving after a year because we wanted to get a puppy, and even though we were told dogs were allowed upon move-in, we were dissuaded from doing so given the tumultuous relationship with the women that lived above us. We were the only renters on the bottom floor of in a 3-unit building (3866A 21st Street) and constantly dealing with attitude from the women above us who complained if we made a peep after 10 pm, but whose dog would go berserk at all hours and they would stomp across their house beginning at 4:45 am every morning and we had to just suck it up. Honestly, they treated us like dirt, we think, because we were not owners like them, but renters. We tried our best to be good neighbors while still living our normal lives and not walking on eggshells constantly, but we ultimately came to the conclusion to just move as it wasn't worth us not being able to get a puppy and constantly worried that the women upstairs would complain about us to the other neighbor in the building as well as Nina. The funny part is, all of the surrounding neighbors were all gems and that was probably the hardest part about leaving. The community of 21st street was really quite amazing.
While we were upset and Nina was frustrated, we all understood the situation at hand and I have to say, Nina was both professional and human about the whole thing. She allowed us to move out even though we had already negotiated a 2nd-year lease (in the middle of a pandemic, nonetheless)! She was also very kind when it came to our deposit and move-out dates.
In reading about Nina as a realtor, it's no wonder she's both successful and has 5-star reviews. My partner and I will definitely consider her when buying our first place in the future. When you deal with Nina, you get 5-star service, practicality, and a warm and understanding woman! read more
