I've been to the Metropolitan Pavilion multiple times for industry trade shows over the years. It's a relatively small, two-story venue that has been around for a very long time. They typically feature a coat check, and promoters usually arrange for food and drinks available for purchase. The trade shows are common, creating a small and cozy space for vendors, buyers and designer to connect. It's the right size as the venue is not too overwhelming.

I attended JFRE event last month or another name is Japanese Food & Restaurant Expo. It was super nice to see tons of vender and restaurant owner. It is a good opportunity to get contract and explore more high quality or get a good deal for your business if you are in this industry. The convention has separate section between food, drink and equipment. It was less people in the morning but super packed in the afternoon.

A few of my close co-teachers and an Admin got into the swing of things by letting loose the weeknd before school got out to come to an event that showcased rums from St. Lucia, PR and other Caribbean islands at Metropolitan P. on W. 18th in the Chelsea area. Tickets were purchased in advanced- so registering and waiting outside for a bit was flawless without jumping through hoops. The space itself is easy to navigate by using stairs or the oversized elevator with distance floor markers. I'm not sure what's the allowed human capacity, but I felt between the rum companies+ kiosks and folks like myself there, the space was small in my opinion. But there was a very good flow as well as some security guards on hand to keep people in check while sampling rum shots and cocktails after another.

Came here for an art display. It was entertaining, interactive, learning, and had fun. Some art piqued my interest. The prices for the arts were a bit expensive imo. They were like USD $500+ for a frame... Being my first time in here I wasn't sure if you are supposed to pay sticker price or bargain... But there were definitely some crowd for the event that I attended to...

Came here for a Whiskey and Bourbon tasting event and it was so much fun!!! It was a nice venue that held a decent amount of people inside. Only came here for a special event but it was certainly memorable even with all the tastings! I think the staff did a great job controlling the amount of people and the dinner buffet that was included in my ticket. Would highly recommend coming here for an event! Cheers!

Excellent place to see Art. I like that is not as huge as other places, it was just 2 floors for the Affordable Art Fair NYC, which was right for the amount of Art and kind of easy to walk through. I walked it and had enough time to see it all.

Coffee companies showing their ware. You smell the roast all around as you walk around from booth to booth. Mao bao going to serve food during lunch!!! Mad coffee competition going on all day!

I've been to this particular event space about six times by now and for events such as PLAY NYC, TTPM Spring Showcase and the New York Coffee Festival. Since I am here to discuss it as a space to host an event I will be keeping this short. Overall it is a solid enough space and capable of hosting a function that several hundred will be in attendance for. During the events I've attended I've found it neither to be too hot or too cold in terms of the climate control and the facilities are always clean which is a bonus to find for those needs. Now I don't know if a WiFi signal is handled by the event space or the event organizer itself but I think its the first one and there is NEVER an open WiFi to use. Considering that people want to converse their own data plans at times, I think the event space should have something set up along with a section to recharge ones battery as I seldom see that anywhere. If the general public is curious about the venue, its easy enough to access from a number of different MTA lines or needs a few minutes walk past them. Keep on the lookout for what is scheduled there and see for yourself.

Pretty cool venue. Visited on this day to attend a vintage fashion expo. It had more than enough room to accommodate plenty of vendors! They even had a little cafe in a corner which suited me very well! The premises was nice and clean, temperature appropriate, the people that work there were really nice and I had no issues. I was comfortable entire time I was there and would love to attend any event hosted there in the future.

Outsider Art Fair 2018 January 18-21, 2018 The Metropolitan Pavilion hosted a beautifully curated collection of diverse artist at this years Outsider Art Fair. I was lucky enough to score two tickets to attend last Sunday 1/21/18. (Thank you Katey G. and Yelp). The Art Fair consisted of several stalls of various artist and their depictions of art in all different forms & mixed medias. Painting, photos, clay, sculptures, 3D anything you can think of was there in some form. Some of the displays were difficult to determine the influence or to interpret the artist's final production. Like a wall of store plastic bags seamed together and for sale for $3000. In those cases I guess I'm just not cultured enough but there are some people out there who are and can appreciate it. However, somethings I did understand was a Bell and Hammer piano or Hand painted movie posters from Ghana. Nonetheless, I feel art is like Beauty it's All in the Eye of the Beholder! My guess and I enjoyed this event.

I've only been to this venue for the New York City Half Marathon expo. It was conveniently located on W 18th St between 6th and 7th Ave. There were a few subway stations nearby. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, it was pretty spacious, clean, and more than adequate to handle a race expo where there's more than 20,000+ participants.

This venue space is great. Have frequented this space for various venues. Love the cleanliness of the restrooms as I never had to wait online. The lighting is just right, not too dark or too bright. This is definitely a versatile space that can be used for many types of events including wedding receptions, etc.

Yes, the views are amazing, however the weather has to be just perfect. Especially if you plan to use the outdoor patio. Which, why wouldn't you? The space itself is not for large groups, wedding party size approximately 50. Plus the wait, bar & other service staff. The location is prime, if you plan to take a car, remember this is NYC & traffic is bad. You can probably walk faster than a cab or car service. Especially during the month of December. NYC gets more visitors in December than all year long. The venue has 2 bathrooms for women which is not good, however worked for this crowd. Think of this location as a once in a lifetime, only if you have the funds for this location. As guests we were thrilled to be invited to such a lavish wedding!

Rooftop wedding in the heart of Manhattan with incredible views of St. Patrick's Cathedral & Rockefeller Center. What more could you ask for? It's makes for one incredible experience for not just the bride and groom, but for all of the guests who are always completely blown away. As close as it is to being perfect, there are few things to keep in mind: 1. If the weather doesn't cooperate (as it didn't during the wedding I shot there, when it rained right before the ceremony), the main garden does get quite soggy. It got bad enough that the bride had to walk around the guests via the outer walkway instead of through the middle. Definitely not the ideal way to make an entrance. 2. The inside is as simple as it gets, so it's really up to you(r planner) to make it something amazing. Basically, picture a clean, white room; a blank slate. If minimalism is your thing (as is with me), then you'll love it. Otherwise, plan to get creative! 3. Space. It's definitely not for large events. Even for smaller weddings, the cocktail hour gets quite cramped. But if you're planning on getting married here, you know that already. From a solely photographer's perspective, while it does make possible some absolutely stunning shots (one of my favorite images was taken here, which you can see in the Photos section), the size of the venue as well as the blank indoor space does limit how creative you can get. If you're looking to get a wide variety of photos, I'd highly suggest you stop by another location for or after the First Look and get portraits before heading to 620 Loft and Garden. If you're set on getting married here, a gallery of a real wedding from 620 Loft and Garden is up on my site, so feel free to check it out for some wedding ideas!

Why, stop by the Holiday Home of course!! Held in a historical mansion on the Upper East Side of New York City, come prepared to be inspired and enchanted as you walk through the house, each room designed by a different interior designer, to a different holiday theme (think, New Year's Eve, St Pattys, Christmas etc) or special moment in life. Every single room here is SO gorgeous, with furniture from some of the most luxurious brands in the world. As I walked through the rooms, I imagined what it would be like to live in a house like this, a life of luxury, with cocktails at 3 and constant dinner parties. And if you're one of the lucky few who can actually afford to live in a house like this, then the Holiday Home would serve as a life sized inspiration board for you... You get a catalog at the entrance and it serves as a reference to any piece of furniture displayed in the house. The designers themselves are also there in their respective rooms and are more than happy to talk to you about their work / offer to come design your house (if that's what you're looking for). It is a $35 entrance fee that goes towards the Breast Cancer Foundation, though, even if it didn't, so worth it getting to spend an afternoon in the shoes of an Upper East Sider. Lastly, everyone's so incredibly nice (you'd expect them to be snooty but there are absolutely no airs here), though, I would dress nice and perhaps not show up in sweats if I was gonna go. Haha. There is also an adorable little heated courtyard cafe that serves up ready made sandwiches, teas and (not so yummy) macaroons. But very nice and pretty to sit at. All in all, one of my favorite things we did in New York this past trip! Perfect for getting into the holiday mood (:

This is usually where almost all banquet halls breakdown somewhere. Whether it is pasta, sides, meat or fish, something just doesn't work. Not the case here, as you would expect from Cipriani. Cipriani really did an excellent job running our holiday party. I highly recommend them.
