As a regular Metro customer of over 13 years standing, it saddens me that I now feel compelled to write this negative review of what has now become a pale shadow of a once scrupulously reliable 'organization'. If your idea of stress free travel is to have to regularly wait upwards of 45 minutes to as much as 90 or even 120 minutes and upwards then this is the cab company for you. I found myself, yet again, in this situation on the evening of Wednesday 3rd of September 2014. I had pre booked a cab for 16:00 hrs on that afternoon in an attempt to avoid the now usual 30 to 60 minute wait. This booking went relatively well for once and my wheelchair bound son was not forced to sit twiddling his thumbs in his wheelchair for a change. The main problem on this occasion came later that evening at 16:46 hrs when I thought it would be a good idea to pre book again for the return journey from his aunts at 18:00 hrs. 18:00 hrs came and went without sight, sound or scent of a black cab. Knowing the difficulties they often face getting cabs at this time in the evening I gave them till 18:30 hrs before calling to ask if a cab was on it's way. At this point I'm told 'sorry it's taken so long your cab's on its way to Marsh Lane to make a drop off and then he'll be round to pick you up'. At 18:58 I call, yet again, to ask for an e.t.a. and the same switch operator informs me that they are still trying to find a cab for my son and I, upon asking him if it was indeed he who had informed me 30 minutes earlier that a cab would soon be on its way his voice took on an extremely aggressive, snarling tone and his language became threatening. Although we were shouting over each other at one point I believe I heard the phrase 'make sure you never get a cab from us again', ladies and gents can you imagine how little I care about that. I apologize if I've rambled on here but I've taken just one of many, many negative experiences with Metro in an attempt to illustrate just what a nightmare this 'organization' has become to deal with. I have genuinely tried to remain loyal to Metro over the last couple of years, they have consistently dumped on that loyalty. Needless to say I am now blissfully happy to consider myself an ex Metro Radio Cabs customer. My severely disabled son and I will now struggle in and out of a private hire car with his wheelchair but hey, at least well reach our destination before tomorrow. If you've been kind enough read this far you'll be glad to hear I only have one more thing to say. Do yourselves a favour, avoid this cab firm like the plague! read more
