He was just finishing another job and was at my house within 30 minutes. He was completely professional and got straight to work. He made sure to keep his work area clean and worked diligently to clear a very difficult clog. He used a 75 foot rotor rooter but the drain was still blocked. He didn't give up and used a different blade attachment on the Roto rooter and was finally able to clear the drain. After he cleaned up his work area And put his tools away, I asked if he had jumper cables because the battery in my car had died. He told me that he had the same problem earlier that day and had a jumper box with him. He then realized that he changed vehicles and did not have it with him. He told me he had another job and would be coming back my way. He returned in a few minutes and helped me jumpstart my car. I can't say enough about his generosity. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs high quality plumbing work. After all the difficulties of this job his fee was much less than I was quoted from The national Rotor Rooter service company. Thanks again for going above and beyond! And doing such a great job! Upstairs suspects included an old water heater closet that had been turned into a vanity room with a sink in the 60s, and the original bathroom from initial build in 1909. I was thinking it was a supply pipe issue. Richie's plumber disagreed, he thought we should change the wax on the toilet, even though the toilet did not appear to be running, was only used occasionally, and after all I'm a mechanical engineer by training and I thought it was a pressurized supply issue. But I'm also not an AH and bit my tongue. The short: Me wrong; he right. He changed the wax, and now months later, no sign of leak. The toilet flapper was indeed leaking, only very occasionally triggering a refill, but creating enough of a trickle to surface-tension its way along the pipe and sneak out through a compromised wax ring. Score: Plumber experience, 1; modeling fluid flow with a diffy-Q, 0. As impressive as the initial correct diagnosis was the caveat left with me when they had gone. Plumber told me "probably is the wax ring, be we can't really be sure. You'll know in a few days. We might be wrong and would have to tear into the wall to look at supply and sewage lines" What refreshing and honest advice after years of bad experiences with HVAC and auto mechanics where an initial diagnosis was made confidently, repaired but also accompanied by "oh we *also* found that...we need another day." Cue another work ticket and a second bill, usually bigger than the first. Bad tank of gas? "Oops, sorry; timing belt. Our bad. JHere's the bill" or "yeah, that fan motor is all that's bad but we can't fix a $150 motor, you need an $18000 new system." It's a real and growing problem in the repair industries. Not at Richies Plumbing: they were honest about my issue, up front about the small chance something other than the wax ring was leaking, and turned out to be right. I highly recommend Richies.

The pricing was in line for what we expected given the quality of work we received. Highly Recommend!

I'll confirm one of the other 1 star reviews as being 100% accurate. When I initially reached out for an estimate I never got a call back with a quote. I should have taken that as a sign and took my business elsewhere. Kevin May was hired to do a job that he clearly was by NO means qualified to do. He half did the job. So many errors so many imperfections. He tried to get away with not properly doing things then when told about them he had an extremely nasty and unprofessional attitude as though this was a service that he was doing for free. He went to lowes to supposedly purchase materials. Only to later find out that he thought that it was okay to purchase chips, and drinks at my expense. Complete and total ignorance. He left trash outside of my home boxes old cabinets ect. he did not clean up after himself neither did he haul off trash from the poor job that he completed. The job remains to have many errors that he feels like I should be okay with. I attempted to report him to the better business bureau but he's not listed. I can definitely see why. Based on the quality of work or lack thereof its clear that he is by no means licensed. I'm not sure who could have given him five stars and why because he is horrible and lacks professionalism and his work is garbage. I will never in life use him if he were the last person standing and I would never recommend him to anybody. I strongly urge you to find you a reputable company that embodies skill and professionalism. I will be taking him to court if I continue to have problems with the job that he was paid to do. He falsely offers a year warranty which he has no intentions of fulfilling. He wants money and lots of it but doesn't want to do the work of the money. Which is sad. NEVER AGAIN...
