The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. During the summer their is an amazing large outdoor garden like terrace with lights glowing from the trees above. I could not complain about the food. Also, for a nice Italian restaurant, the prices were standard Swiss compared to equivalent places I have been to in the Vaud or Geneva canton. Thus, it all came down to the service. Upon first being seated, our server never once smiled (with anyone), it was definitely a bad day. Plus, she seemed to not be able to speak English, which we later learned was not the case. The server was pushy and irritating, and rude at the beginning. However, our local friend in town happened to be coming down the street and saw us. He stopped in to say hi. He is a frequent visitor to this restaurant and knows the owners. Upon hearing about our experience, he spoke to the owner. Following which, our server came back and seemed to be a completely different person (even spoke perfect English!). The grumpy attitude was gone, and the remainder of our time was completely night and day different. It was as if someone else inhabited her body. At first, when I was beginning to write this review in my mind I was set on two stars, however, by the end of the evening, my overall review settled at four stars. Full disclosure: I have not been to Italy, but coming to this place makes me feel like I have. Came here after a three-week-long work trip to celebrate our success. I could not have picked a better place. We came here on a Thursday night and we were able to get seated right away. The ambiance and interior of this restaurant spared no detail left behind. It was hard to believe that we were still in Switzerland. We began with a really nice bottle of Pinot Grigio wine right from the central part of Italy. For starters, I ordered the PASSATELLI IN BRODO DI VERDURA soup, which is Spatzle (Swabian noodle) in a vegetable broth. It was absolutely delicious and was served fresh and at the perfect soup temperature. I then had the RISOTTO AL LIMONE E TARTUFO as the first course. This was the most amazing Risotto that I've ever had. The truffle oil together with lemon and black truffle really put this dish over the top. For the main course, I had the SCALOPPINE DI VITELLO AL PROFUMO DI TARTUFO, which is veal cutlet with truffle cream sauce and black truffle. This was paired with some of the most amazing potatoes I've ever had. For dessert, I was graced with some of the best Tiramisu. Surely I didn't even have the room for dessert but I'm glad I partook. My colleague and I were the last to leave the restaurant at about 11:30pm. We had a delightful conversation with the owner and got to learn about the history of the restaurant and the owner's passion for bike riding along with his month-long trip to the US about five years ago. It was the best tiramisu I have had (I've been to Italy and there are variations in tiramisu but this one was simply well portioned with really fresh ingredients). Overall we enjoyed this place as the food was much better than other alternatives around the area.
