I forgot how nice Metro Markets are! Well at least this location is! I've visited a few times in the last two months for some groceries and have always walked away with a pleasant experience. The produce department is always friendly and stocking fresh items in the morning. They also have a lot of options for to-go/quick bites; sushi, fresh sandwiches, hot pizza--definitely keep in mind for lunch time or dinner! They have a very fun and nice cheese area as well, you could definitely throw together a charcuterie board that's impressive with all the offerings. The bakery looked divine! I recently had their cupcakes at an event and they were SOO good. You'd never know they were from a grocery store! There's always someone at the self check out that's very proactive in helping customers too! read more

Customer service! I was in the self checkout lane today and witnessed the worker assigned at that duty to be very rude to an elderly customer with only 2 items checking out ahead of me & needing some help. After I checked out I went to customer service to talk to a manager about the incident and was told "oh shes in the back". OK. Go page them please! Then I tried calling on the phone and it took more than an hour to get through to the manager. If this is the way you are running your business and treating your customers I will grocery shop elsewhere. read more

This store has really gone downhill. It started once Kroger took over & is getting progressively worse. They rarely have the large self check lanes open so we are all squished waiting at the small self check lanes by produce. You can barely fit all your groceries on those small platforms. I was rushing trying to get my stuff packed because there was a long line. Unfortunately when I scanned my coupons, one was not accepted so the self check cashier had to come over. There always seems to be issues with their coupons (the ones that are sent to your house from Kroger). At Meijer, you basically put the coupon in the slot & you don't have to involve the cashier. I'm sorry, I understand this particular cashier has a physical disability, but she clearly is not capable of doing the job. I have heard her, on many occasions, rudely yell at customers that she can only do one thing at a time. She questioned my coupon saying it was the wrong ounce. I said it only comes in that size. She begrudgingly took off the coupon. As I said, I shoved all my items (which also contained 2 46 oz orange juice, 4 bottles 32 oz coffee creamer) into the thin plastic bags. When I was leaving, I grabbed 4 paper handled bags (which I have done in the past). She yelled at me & actually grabbed the bags out of my cart & said I couldn't take them. I said I was going to put my groceries in the paper bags so the items wouldn't roll around in my trunk. She told me I could only have 2 according to store policy. I was taken aback at her meanness & was totally embarrassed in front of the other customers. I had recently broken my wrist & obviously had a brace on. I cannot believe she would treat someone so disrespectfully. I, as others have also posted, will find somewhere else to spend my money. She is a horrible person & should not have any contact with the public because she has no knowledge of good customer service. Arrived at the store and not one container of Maxwell House Coffee on the shelf. To top it off they won't give out rain checks because it's a digital coupon. Why do people still shop here? The manager is inept. Today, there were around 50 people waiting in line for the useless self checkout kiosks and ONE open cashier. I went over to the manager and asked her to open more stations. She screamed at my face saying "I'm doing the best I can!" Clearly, Kroger, you have a huge problem. The best she can only means that she is out of her league and should be let go or corporate has too many stores and doesn't know how to deal with them. We are in a nice neighborhood filled with people who have options when it comes to grocery shopping. Shop for Food Poisoning Here I shopped there in April 2025. I used the ladies room while there and was blown away by how disgusting it was. Feces on the toilets and lying on the floor. Digital coupon for an extra $1.00 back in my pocket worth the return trip? No. That digital coupon seems more of an issue, but I'm always sucked in, wanting to receive a savings. I should have looked at my receipt before I left the store. That was my error. I had used my savings card and digital coupon cart, I thought. The screen dollars had shown $4 was taken off for the shrimp I purchased, I just didn't notice that it was a dollar short. The extra savings using the digital coupon. I returned 2 days later and the customer service person said how does she not know if I already received the dollar owed? Did I use the digital coupon? After a couple of minutes and feeling like she thought I lied, I asked for a manager. What a a nice breath of fresh air she was!! So polite and smiling. I explained what happened and the person behind the counter was told to give me my dollar. The person behind the counter couldn't resist to tell me the proper procedure to receive my credit due. It was their error and I get a lecture. What about cueing the registers to match the prices the offer. It will be a while before I return to that store. It's too much work to shop there. I took a picture of the savings of the item, had the coupon in my digital cart, and then had to drive back to get that $1.00 savings...only to be called a lier and to get a lecture. I left my receipt and the dollar on the counter. This is how Metro Market gets money back in their store. The manager was the only good thing in the whole transaction. My wife and I realize that it is Saturday and following a major snowfall and that the store would be busy. Having said that, it doesn't matter what day of the week, whether it snows or not; this store like other Metro Markets only keep ONE lane open with an actual live cashier. We stood in a line at least 10 carts deep waiting for the SELF-CHECKOUT t(of which there are 8-10 registers open) to become available. (The lone staffed checkout was at least 15 carts deep, blocking shelves to accommodate the shoppers in line.) Since Kroger took over from Roundy's it seems to have gotten worse! Please, please, PLEASE open more staffed register lines!!! read more

This is an impressive grocery store. They have pretty much everything! The sushi counter, massive deli and juice bar are wonderful features for the hungry shopper. There are also some good deals offered. Unfortunately, you don't get the deals if you don't have a loyalty card. If I lived near here I'd get one, but the trip was more expensive than I thought it would be. read more

Pretty good MM, mostly clean though workers not all that clear on how to wear masks. A little understaffed, like most supermarkets now they seem to think customers should work harder for our groceries and use the self check outs. I feel like if they are making me do some of their work I should get a discount. Pretty good selection of produce, flowers, baked goods, a little short on seafood. Prices are okay, plenty of parking. This store is the worst! More than one experience with their staff responding with nothing they can do if the app discounts don't work and if they are out of product and can't provide a rain check. You also have to watch their food by dates. Recently their whole milk refrigerators were closed down. How confident am I that once the refrigerator was fixed that the affected product wasn't left to sell? Don't have a lot of faith. Today I was told a Kroger coupon didn't work as Kroger and Pick and Save aren't the same store. Hello! Why was tagged it in the app for this location? Then I was told by the same customer service person (on self checkout) that Metro Market/ Kroger had the best prices and I wouldn't find prices cheaper anywhere else. I commented I wasn't looking for cheap. She told me to go shop somewhere else! Also I could go to customer service if I wanted to check more on coupon. For a $1? No thanks. Well, its a grocery store. It has your typical fair of items or sale. Nothing really special or out of the ordinary. If it's on my way, I would stop in for normal goods. However, on my last visit it was particularity awful. Went to use the bathroom, and an employee was clearly using the facility for over 15-20 minutes writing an essay on his phone or something. Additionally, while checking out, there were no standard check-out lanes open, only the self-checkout. But there were three employees standing and talking as we self-checked out and had several issues with there machines. read more

I had pick up service at store on Bluemound, Brookfield, WI on Sunday August 8. My 1/2 gallon of milk expired the next day on August 9, 2021. I was also given garlic that was rotten. The worst part is the packing of the groceries. I did not realize they were so heavy, I picked them up with both hands and severly damaged my rotator cuff. I was advised by both an Orthopedic Surgeon and Physical Therapist not to shop at that store because of their practices. So, I am done with that store. Soooo zero stars . Review is based off a cake I ordered TWO WEEKS ago . I ordered a cake for my sisters baby shower two weeks ago . Original order was a full sheet cake . Half chocolate half vanilla with strawberry filling . Kid we ordered from was super confused about baby shower cakes and baby decorations in general . He was younger so I'll give him a pass ... We figured it out and placed the order . Today we went to pick it up and it was a quarter of a sheet cake , just chocolate . Not kidding ...No strawberry filling and no baby decorations we originally ordered . We asked what happened and whoever made it read it wrong ? Apparently everyone at this bakery is incompetent . Unbelievable. They said give us 45-1:30 and we can get it done . Like anyone has time to wait around when they have to host a baby shower and get everything else ready and decorate . You guys suck . Way to ruin a baby shower. I could hear baby crying on the inside . His day was jipped. At least you get more than one baby shower ... Had my daughter run in to get 2 bags of green grapes that were on sale for .99 a pound. She had problems with the internet and therefore the digital coupon was not coming up. Asked for help, the lady took the grapes from my daughter and said sorry you have to have the coupon. She then asked the supervisor on duty for help and she said the same and walked away. 55 minutes later, the internet finally worked and she was able to purchase. 2 bags of grapes. Do better on hiring actual workers that can assist customers without an attitude. Will never ever shop that location again. Pathetic. read more

I've had great experiences at this store. The floral workers have really helped me numerous times. However, on 03/24/21 I stopped at 6AM when the store opened. I quickly gathered the few items I needed and was at the front of the store by 6:05 to pay and get on my way. The woman at the service counter came over to start opening the self checkout lane. I politely apologized for coming right when they opened. I know it can be frustrating for workers the same as having customers come in a few minutes before closing. This rude woman not only didn't acknowledge my comment but said "this is going to take a few minutes so relax". I shared this story with my girlfriend who immediately described the same woman and shared a similar story of a 6AM visit to the same store. Metro market is definitely different Bluemound road is still under construction and people tend to go to fast. but once you are in the parking lot you can relax. it is a busy location friendly clerks. Great walk in cooler for beer, OK snack section but no boiled peanuts here. The aisles are some what congested and narrow. they have a great amount of premium local micro brews/ craft beers. check out lanes moved fast and they also have an attended self check out. so you can card yourself. I went back to Metro Market to exchange a half gallon of milk I had previously purchased with less than a half of a cup out of it. I walked up to the service desk and said, "Hi, I was wondering if I could exchange this half gallon of milk because this one is sour." The woman at the service desk didn't bother to say hello, but looked rather irritated and asked me when I bought it. I told her some day the previous week. She said, "You don't know when?" I replied, "Not exactly sure but regardless the container has a sell by date 7 days from now." Her response was, "We only guarantee freshness for 10 days from the date of purchase. Yeah, okay, you can go get another one." Her tone was very snippy. I wanted to ask her where the store's freshness policy is because I'm guessing most people would expect if a product has a sell by date, they would expect the product to be fresh until that date because otherwise why would they buy it, unless the store discounted the product, due to the sell by date being close to the actual date? Same treatment happens when prices are incorrect. When you bring it to their attention, they make it seem as if they are doing you the favor by refunding you the amount they overcharged you in the first place. read more

Man, can I just say that I really enjoy this place? For some reason in my mind I expect Metro Market to be hoity-toity and costly, but in reality it's a classed-up Pick n Save. The sale prices are literally the same as what they have going on at Pick n Save each week - sometimes Metro Market just has different stuff, in a good way. Their deli rules. Their produce department is more robust and interesting than most Pick n Saves (but no more expensive). Everything is clean and shiny, and they have a lovely bakery section. I've never had to stand in line when I've come here, usually in the morning before work or on my lunch break. I tend to go for the self checkout, and it's always clear and open. I always find what I came for, plus a few additional things that I didn't expect. I only wish it were located more conveniently for me (I live at 121st and Greenfield and work at Barker and Bluemound - so this is kind of in between and off my typical path). Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because my heart belongs to Woodman's, and that would be cheating. read more

Compared to its good-value cousin, Pick n Save, Metro Market is posh (though I don't find it at all expensive). The customer service is good, the store is kept up very well, they offer samples of higher-end items (cheese) and the selection is usually pretty good. My only gripe is that, in the international section, there are a dozen choices of certain items (prepackaged pad thai) while other common items are missing (wide rice noodles). My favorite parts of this store: the deli and butcher. These people are beyond courteous and will go to all ends of the earth to make sure you have exactly what you need. read more

I work at a large Brookfield Business complex located on Bluemound. For YEARS, beginning with Chef Doug, my colleagues and have been frequent visitors to the outside grill at the metro market on Bluemound Road. We have come to expect the daily menu, especially burger day and ribeye Fridays. We talk about Memorial Day as the start of the outdoor grill however this year you choose to not have this excellent value-added service to your shoppers. Please reconsider this wonderful experience. I don't recall a burger day or ribeye day when you didn't have a line 10 people deep between 11:30 and 2pm. I suggest you consider at least having outdoor grill wed, thurs, friday (burger, brats, ribeye). Keep the price reasonable 5/6 bucks max to keep the traffic high. Remember it's all about foot traffic and when I am at metro market I typically grab other items in the store for the office. I feel that this is a huge disservice to the Brookfield lunch crowds. Please get the Grill up and Smoking soon.... Also, as a side note how come the butchers don't make the sausages in house anymore. I used to buy 10-20lbs of custom sausage per summer from one of the butchers and now they have told me that corporate took all the equipment out of the store... Sorry but you lost my business on that that front... purchasing my meat from sendik's... You need to focus on foot traffic to your store and fun promotions like the grill and homemade sausage make the customer feel like they are going to a local market instead of a corporate conglomerate, which is why you have made this store feel like. Whomever oversees the marketing strategy for Metro Markets needs to rethink its philosophy. read more

I come to metro market for my backwoods. Doug has a fresh pack set aside every time. It might not seem like a big deal but it's difficult to find fresh backwood cigars in Wisconsin and the fact Doug remembers I smoke backwoods and that I always ask for a fresh pack is a great example of phenomenal customer service.
