In July of 2012, I had a catastrophic AC Melt down with the out side units compressor. I was having trouble with over heating the previous summer, and would set the sprinkler system on it for the hottest part of the day(s), to keep it cool and running, YUP! it worked, most of the time. 2012 comes along and the system finally craps out. I researched several AC companies, but choose to use the one closest to my address, for convenience mostly; I chose ME. I called and they sent out a Tech, and gave me the spiel, and went the additional to find out about the warranty; it was covered. They replaced the compressor in the unit, and all though it was working, since I was discontent with the volume (3 ton), and its constant running during the day(sounded like a little toy plane @ high rev), I told them I wanted a 4 Ton upgrade, and I would eat the cost; The unit was larger than required for this house. Without any complaint they called Trane, and with some whining from Trane they convinced Trane to eat 1/2 the cost of the new unit; that was great for me, as the upgrade wasn't going to be cheap. After installation all was great in Coolville! The next month I had them come in and up grade the furnace. For 31/2 years it ran great, but this last week the system went tits-up. I called ME, and they sent a tech, and to my amazement the diagnosis, was total electrical failure. they dismantled, removing the board, electric moisture cut off, transformer, taking all of these parts to Trane for replacement parts. With in an hour they returned and fixed the alleged problem. VAVOOM! It started right up, and ran fine. on the 4th day Coolville was toasty @ a whooping 90 degrees in house again (mostly because I was prepared and running 5 box fans to move the air), total systems failure. Called them back, and the next day they came back out, and they got it started again, 7 hours later (ran constant for the 7 hours) after the unit cooled the house, after it stopped, total malfunctioned again. The plus, it did it at night, and climbed to 85 degrees, so was bearable with fans. the next day they came out again. after some sweating in the attic, they found the next culprit, an easy problem to miss as it had not completely failed previously, and was working 1/2 A#$ed, and replaced the problem. By the way the last visit was a freebee for parts and labor, as their management determined I had suffered long enough. I once again have a new system, and working great. To make a story short, if you want to call it that at this point! These guys and gals, will not stop until the problem is corrected, and you are satisfied, as well as schedule promptly no matter their schedule. I had my doubts at first, going into the 3rd round, but they came through with flying colors, and where beyond professional, even through the bitching session I put the tech through while here. I even ask for a different tech, who might have a little more experience, and different Ideas for the fix. All in All, Oscar is a great technician, and one couldn't ask for better. these guys are out standing, they're there when needed (meaning; they won't schedule your problem days out, after you've been cooked down like a pot roast). Cost was minimal (labor only), as I determined I didn't need the additional warranty offered at purchase, I had the Trane warranty only. bottom line, buy the added warranty if your on a budget, go to Walmart and purchase cheap fans to move the air while you wait, if your system fails, and certainly call these guys (ME) for your Air and Heating troubles. They are thick skinned, will listen to your BS, making you feel like you're in charge, while still rectifying the problem. Thanks Oscar! read more
