Both of these venues are always super busy when they have big events, so using public transport (which will also help avoid parking fees) will make your trip to the event way less annoying, so you can enjoy your show/game a little more. The Target station entry and exit is near most of the entrance gates, too, so you won't have a ton of walking to get from the train to your seats, and kill your feet. There are attendants also, who will make sure you get to the right lines and also check your train tickets. Make sure to have your ticket handy, so you don't have to waste time digging for it when they get to you in line! Sometimes, they will add extra trains to the schedule for larger events, as they expect more people to use public transportation for them. So keep that in mind that you'll have a few more options on those busier days. In my experience, the Light Rail trains are clean and well-maintained for being as heavily used as they are. We never had any problems like breakdowns or getting stuck behind another train, either. So definitely give the light rail train a try for your next event at Target Field or Target Center!

We parked at Mall of America, found a kiosk very easy, bought a 6-hour pass for the Blue Line to Target Field, and waited for the train. Trains and markings were easy to see and, it was hard not to miss other Twins fans milling around in the area waiting like we were. Took the train about 35 minutes or so to make it in to town and drop us off at Target Field, but we didn't have to look for a place to park, and pay a high price for parking. So, we were both very happy. You couldn't beat the price for the 6-hour pass for seniors ($2.00) and we got a nice ride back to the Mall with our drop off about 100 yards from the car. How sweet is that? Now ... if only the Rays would have won!
