Any event at this stop will inevitably be packed at these two venues, so taking the mass transit and not having to park will help you attend with a little more ease (and you won't have to pay to park!) The Target Field train station lets out right near many of the entrance gates, and when you are arriving and leaving, there are several attendants helping to direct people to the correct lines (and checking tickets, so be sure to have it out and ready to show that you paid to get on the train!) They sometimes add extra trains to the rotation for big events, as they know more people will be taking the transit options. The Light Rail trains are clean and well maintained, and we never experienced any issues with breakdowns or getting stuck, etc. Definitely give them a try for your next event at Target Field/Target Center!

I love this bike event and have attended for the past 5 years! Riders bike all over Minneapolis…read morepaths and streets, which many are shut down to allow for the massive amounts of Tour cyclists. They have something for every biker, no matter what skill level you are. This event is definitely family friendly. In the beginning years, I would ride the longer 50+ mile routes. Now, they have shortened the options down to 16, 25 or 32 miles that day. With multiple routes to choose from you can't go wrong! It's a beautiful experience to view the city and see how all the paths connect. Minneapolis/St. Paul have hundreds of miles of paved paths, so this ride can show you how to navigate them, rather than be intimidated. There is great signage to know which ways to turn to stay on course. The helpful rest stops supply delicious food and often music/entertainment along the way. The best part is the finish line! Here, you can get your free beer, visit the vender village and listen to a live band as you sit with fellow cyclists feeling proud of yourself!

We also found their 10-4 hours a little inconvenient as we like to get up and out early while on vacation. Besides that, the staff were very friendly and the store/info center is nicely appointed, if a little sparse. They do sell postcards if you're looking for some. Parking is metered street parking, but only $1 per hour parking. The check in building seems brand new and has a nice bathroom in case you need to stop in before your ride. The employees were super kind and our driver was extremely hospitable and fun to chat with. The $4 all day ticket saved me $240, before tax & I had the added bonus of cardio! It's also incredibly easy to use. This particular station is clean, with great signage & clear maps, pricing, kiosks. One direction goes from T1 to T2 (free), then to Mall of America, the last stops on the blue line going that direction & connecting to the red line,I believe. We went the opposite way, towards Target Field, the last stops on the blue line for downtown & connecting to the green line. Our stop was government station, -10min walk to our hotel with a -15min walk to our event. I'll be doing this more often, when the weather is feeling cooperative! Follow the signs in T1 towards T2 & the lightrail. Take the tram & follow the signs again (there's an elsalator down). If heading only to T2, no ticket required. If going to Mall of America or to downtown, you can get your tickets (several options) from the kiosks. Trams run a outliers 10-15min. Easy Peasy!

I had to go to downtown St Paul so I took a bus from the Metro Transit Terminal which is on level 2, gold ramp. There is an indoor waiting area where you can see the bus coming and there is a board inside with real time updates for the bus (Route 54 serves the airport). You can download the Metro Transit app to purchase fares ahead of time or pay on the bus, but the app makes it easy. You just activate your ticket and show it to the driver and off you go. I made it to downtown St Paul in a half hour. Coming back on a Sunday morning, it only took me 20 minutes to get from downtown St Paul to the airport. It is easy to enter the bus lobby, go up the escalator and go right into the terminal. It is a quick and easy way (and cheap too) to downtown St. Paul. One note, the bus I took going to the city didn't have any room for bags but the other bus was more roomy.

The reservation system online is down, so we made a reservation through text. It seemed sketchy, but they don't collect payment until after the boat ride is complete so we had nothing to lose! The cost is $100 per hour for the boat and it can fit up to 6 people - it was a great value! We booked a one hour tour and went all the way to the locks by the Stone Arch Bridge. It was cool to see St Anthony Falls up close and our captain was great company and had lots of cool facts about Minneapolis and the River. You can bring your own food and drink onto the boat, so we split a bottle of rose. There is a table in the middle with cup holders and bench seating all around the bow of the boat. It's electric so it's very quiet and easy to have conversation. We had a great time and for such a great price, we will absolutely be bringing friends and family to try this out!

The home was donated by the Irvine family and is a great example of Tudor architecture. The library was one of my favorite rooms. There is free street parking available.
