Metro transit does a decent job trying to keep the areas clean, considering the amount of litter gathering in a day. The system is efficient on their timing and I appreciated the efforts to make the cars more secure and safe. The train rides were a nice experience until about 2020 when things started to change. That year walking back to a seat some young show-off tried to block my way as his friends laughed. All I could do was walk right past even letting our shoulders bump, yes we have to show no fear sometimes. Another time a passenger screamed at me for no apparent reason saying he didn't want me walking past him. I've seen cars with litter, people smoking and sleeping on folded down seats. Jump to 2022 and problems seem more cleared up with more transit police kicking people off and the system scrubbing urine stains off the floor. There used to be soft cloth seats which had to be replaced with cheap hard sitting plastic.

The street entrance is on the corner of Target Field, pay your fare in the lobby and then take a short flight of stairs down to the platform and you are set for the train. The free wifi on the train is an extra help to make your conte better. Just look for the cars that are labeled.

Any event at this stop will inevitably be packed at these two venues, so taking the mass transit and not having to park will help you attend with a little more ease (and you won't have to pay to park!) The Target Field train station lets out right near many of the entrance gates, and when you are arriving and leaving, there are several attendants helping to direct people to the correct lines (and checking tickets, so be sure to have it out and ready to show that you paid to get on the train!) They sometimes add extra trains to the rotation for big events, as they know more people will be taking the transit options. The Light Rail trains are clean and well maintained, and we never experienced any issues with breakdowns or getting stuck, etc. Definitely give them a try for your next event at Target Field/Target Center!

I the day time this stop is pretty quiet and lots of students here. Sometimes you will get a few rowdy people or persons but mostly stay to yourself and you'll be fine. Train times vary as the train is under construction in some areas.

There was a 4 hour departure delay that pushed our arrival too late, so we had to cancel and drive instead. thankfully we got a full refund, but totally let down after looking forward to it for so long. It is pretty cheap ($4.50 for 6 hours per person)! It is very punctual as well. It has two lines: blue & green! Two of the exits are perfect for customers staying at the Marriott at the Mall of America as they are terminals for the Minnesota/St. Paul International Airport.

We parked at Mall of America, found a kiosk very easy, bought a 6-hour pass for the Blue Line to Target Field, and waited for the train. Trains and markings were easy to see and, it was hard not to miss other Twins fans milling around in the area waiting like we were. Took the train about 35 minutes or so to make it in to town and drop us off at Target Field, but we didn't have to look for a place to park, and pay a high price for parking. So, we were both very happy. You couldn't beat the price for the 6-hour pass for seniors ($2.00) and we got a nice ride back to the Mall with our drop off about 100 yards from the car. How sweet is that? Now ... if only the Rays would have won!

Although I've been inside this beautiful edifice many times, I've only just used it as an actual…read moretrain station for the first time. Such a grand building looks like it could do with a lot more passenger train traffic than it actually gets. But I love coming here, no matter what the reason! There are two busy multi-state Amtrak lines that pass through here. It is also served by local bus routes (Metro Transit, etc.) and national ones like Megabus and Greyhound. The bus platforms are close to the train platforms and are easy to negotiate, and the light rail station is out on 4th Street directly in front. There is a pickup-dropoff area on Kellogg, one floor down from the main hall, where it's easy to get taxis and rideshares, and there is a Hertz rental car place down there as well. There are some shops and a restaurant! Check out my review of 1881 Eating House on their separate Yelp page, but there is a bike shop, a book shop, a toy train shop, and a travel store to check out. And there are often very lively events going on, especially during the holidays. Even if you just show up to stroll through the building I think you will enjoy your visit. It's such a beautiful building that I'm proud of how well it represents Saint Paul to travelers.

This area has a nice mix of businesses: you can grab some falafel, pick up some liquor (I suggest a…read moremid-range single-malt Scottish whiskey) and browse a couple of record stores among other things. There's a co-op grocery store just a few blocks north and if you brought your bike and reusable shopping bag you can ride along on one of St Paul's rarest finds: decent bike lanes. It's also just about a 10 minute bike ride if you continue north to the St Anthony neighborhood's quaint tiny business district on Como Ave. I think at the station they mention walking there, but that's 30 minutes one way: at least 3x longer than most people are willing to walk from a station. If you're not biking, hop on the 87 bus which has a stop on Como and walk a few blocks northwest. And how could I forget that mysterious Khai Hoan Billiards joint (Vietnamese, I think) just a bit west of the station that has no info on it anywhere online, not even Yelp. One of these days...maybe.
