The class is very small but it allows for individual attention from the teacher. I consider myself to be in decent shape but there were some things in this class I could barely do! I mean that in a good way the class was great and definitely an intense workout, I was sore for almost 5 days afterwards. The classes are a bit pricey but I think it is worth it since the classes are so small.

I always seems to hobble out while feeling great at the same time. The instructors at The Pilates Room are clearly sadists and thoroughly enjoy watching others in pain. But, that's the fun of pilates and personal instruction. The method of instruction is quite traditional and the way they set up sessions ensures that you will always be challenged. Everyone is required to take 6 private lessons when they first join the studio so that the instructors can teach necessary movements and techniques while they evaluate your level. Thereafter you are able to move into semi-private lessons with a total of two or three students (a little easier on the wallet) if you wish. You are matched with other students at your level so that you can move through the exercises together with no one person struggling to keep up or waiting for the others to catch-up. They studio has lots of equipment which is all well taken care of. Occasionally on particularly warm days the space can stink of sweat, but if you open the large sliding doors you'll soon be able to breathe again. While it's massively expensive because you either have to do one-on-one sessions or semi-privates, it's worth every penny. I'm completely addicted!

When I checked in, the lovely girl at the desk knew it was my first time, took me for a quick tour explained how the classes work, told me a little about my trainer, facilities ect. It was really nice to go into a really top of the line gym filled with beautiful people and made to feel right at home where as it can otherwise be super intimidating. I did Accelerate which is a spin class. The bikes were top of the line, with digital monitors telling you exactly what intensity level you were on, rather than just guessing by turning the crank half a turn. I also liked that it kept calories and time. The room was dark, and the music was on point, was like working out in a club. Our instructor James, one of the head trainers was fantastic, the class flew by with tons of variation and was a killer, but in a good way. I also appreciated that he was thorough of little details (shoulders relaxed, heads up) because you can get a really sore neck from buckling down and scrunching all up in spin. My posture and core thanks you! It was completely full and its obvious why. Make sure to book early to ensure your place. The locker rooms are really nice, showers, hair dryers, full body towels if you do decide to shower there, and lockers with digital locks, so there is no worry about losing a key. Also you can order a protein shake ahead of time that will be ready for you at the desk post workout. The last thing I noticed and it seems silly, but it smelled so good in there, like a spa. I don't think I have ever described a gym as smelling good, and that is an almost impossible feat with everyone drenched in sweat. But, there you have it Core Collective, has ticked all the boxes.

I was visiting London from the US and using my Class Pass. (I have to say the London Class Pass…read moreoptions are amazing.) So I decided to check out some of the Core classes after reading the reviews. Core is located in the back of a building and around the corner from Byron. Its a very upscale, modern facility. I took Velocity, Accelerate and Resistance. I spin a lot in Los Angeles and the spinning in London whether you go here or Psycle is just not like spinning in the US or aka Soul Cycle/Flywheel. Out of all the classes Accelerate was my least favorite as they didn't have clip in shoes. (only if you brought your own). You need your sneakers to strap in which I haven't done strapped in spinning in years. However the spinning style isn't as core focused as US spinning with a lot of hunching over the bike instead of holding your core up. However I thought both the Velocity and Resistance were both excellent classes. Loved the instructors as I had never taken classes like this and they explained all the moves patiently. They pushed you just enough but it wasn't like bootcamp where they are yelling at you. Very experienced, nice and professional. I esp liked Resistance as my class was only 5 people and intimate. I felt almost like I was getting a personal training session. Music was fantastic in both classes which makes the time fly by. The lockers are gorgeous as well as the showers. The cafe upstairs is very cute and sadly I wanted one day to sit there and eat or have a cup of coffee but didn't have time to do it. Also there is a Whole Foods near the tube station from Core that post workout I grabbed a smoothie and protein bar for the way home. Overall def recommend this place.

The woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive, and the teacher was an absolute nightmare. Instead of the warm and encouraging attitude you would normally expect from a yoga teacher, this woman snapped at people if they did something wrong, and I even saw her grabbing and pulling on someone's pony tail to correct their posture. Further the class was only focused on hamstring stretches, which ended up being very painful towards the end of the 60 minute class. If anyone needed to take a break, you would immediately be scolded by the yoga nazi. Very unprofessional - will not be returning.

The instructor, Gok, is awesome. Full of energy, extremely fit, and cool. Being my first time, Gok was patient to show me the ropes and correct my form. There are 10 students per class, and is open to all levels - you can work as hard as you wish. The studio is clean and modern. Pilates reformer classes are on the ground floor, and the TRX and Barre classes are held on the lower ground floor. Although I didn't try the Pilates class yet, I had a quick peek into the studio and was quite impressed with their equipment. The reformers are up to date and appeared brand new. The woman working the reception was very friendly and will give you a quick tour of the studio upon checking in. The unisex locker room is open plan and very clean. Each locker has a key, so you don't need to bring your own lock. Also, towels and filtered water are provided. There is even a shower. Overall, I had a fantastic first time experience. I would recommend giving it a try if you want a hardcore workout.

Various types of peeps, young, old, all walks of life working hard for two hours straight. Not for people that just want to come for a facebook update, be prepared to work! The coaches are amazing and will always remember who you are and what level you're at so they can help you progress. Come for a good workout or come to learn how to box proper -- not boxercise!! No membership required, pay a flat entry fee of £12, it's cheaper if you do pay for an annual membership: £10 p/session, block of 10 for £90, or monthly for £70. Then 'KO Circuit' is for general public, if you're interested in amateur boxing training, in general you'll have to come to KO Circuit first, have a chat/get invited. Both classes are super hard work. There's also proper kickboxing on Saturday arvos. They won't let you rest and they'll push you to your limits. And you'll like it;) What's pleasant is that they remember you, your name and progress you make. It makes you feel part of the family. £12 for a session or £70 a month is not a cheap business, I agree, but you get what you pay for. Quality. The KO Circuit class works by 3-to-1 basis, 3min of intense training 1min of rest. People of all levels are coming to these classes so you can train with and learn from them. Beginners are taken on the ring and taught individually how to punch and walk so no worries, if you're a newbie, the coach will take care of you. But be prepared to suffer afterwards and realise the existence of the muscles you never knew you had! I couldn't walk properly for two days after my first session;) There are female only classes on Sunday if you're a female (duh;)) and don't want to sweat much. Otherwise I'd say go for the normal circuit. If you don't have your own gloves they can lend you a pair for the time of a session, but if you think you'll be boxing more than once, I'd say buy your own ones and you won't have to bear the smelly, sweaty, someone else's used gloves on your hands. Lockers with keys and showers are also there. The atmosphere in All Stars is quality, people are committed, walls full of pictures of boxers and fights and in the middle of the room stands a boxing ring on which you train sometimes and where sometime there are fights. Real ones. What else can I say, I totally got hooked and I'm looking forward to my next All Stars KO Circuit!
