Classy, modern, chic. Excellent menu with equally great service. Gets crowded fast so reservations recommended. Nicer part of town with great open views. Ordered the steak and it was excellent

Great service and food, reasonable price for prestige. This restaurant is nestled at the corner of the beautiful Bicentennial park in Vitacura. They have a large indoor and outdoor patio seating, for which the indoors are saved for those with reservations. I dropped by after a run in the park for lunch to try their well renown ceviche and was sat outside with a heat lamp without a reservation, I was very comfortable. They had several types of ceviche on their menu, i tried their classic one and it did not disappoint. Ample servings of fish, scallops, octopus and shrimp were garnished beautifully and cured in lemon and leche de tigre sauce. One blunder is that their delicious bread came out after the ceviche but hey i used it to compliment the ceviche tartness and it worked beautifully. The servers were kind and spoke some English; a very basic understanding of Spanish will do well here. Incredible place i will be back for more.

There's not much that can be said about Mestizo that has not already been said, but this is always our go-to place when we have guests visiting from out of the country. It has an excellent, diverse menu that is not too overwhelming with options, but truly has something for everyone. The mixed drinks are all top-notch, too (my husband always gets the Mule and I love the Peratini). If you love unique architecture and beautiful ambiance, this is the spot for you. The design is very modern and unique and the dining room is actually indoor-outdoor. A warning if you sit outside--Santiago has a big smoking culture, so you will be enjoying your provaleta (possibly the best in Santiago with its tomatoes and caramelized onions on top with soft toasted bread) and empanadas (deep fried goodness) with a side of cigarette smoke. I've had many of the dishes including risotto and even the Caesar salad. Nothing disappoints here. It is "gourmet Chilean" that uses traditional spices (merquen) and recipes (pulpo, anyone?) but in a very elevated way that's not snobbish or pretentious. You can come here for a nice occasion or just because it's Tuesday. The service is always lovely and the servers will forgive your choppy Spanish (almost everyone here is well-versed in English and is very accommodating). I recommend you come at sunset because the sky over Parque Bicentenario with the water and flamingos in your view cannot be beat. Cheers!

One of our favorite restaurants in Santiago. The ambiance (beautiful view which overlooks the bicentennial park), service, and quality of Chilean food certainly exceeded our expectations on our first visit. The first time we came here, it was for dinner around 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night, which is pretty early as Chileans eat fairly late. I recommend you make reservations or go on the earlier side if you're trying to go for dinner as this restaurant is popular and gets very packed. I recommend the braised risotto (flavorful and creamy), gnocchi with truffle (delicious hearty dish with braised meat), empanadas (pino)- very crispy and came out hot, and Perez Cruz cab sauv 2016. When we came a second time on a week night, it was not as good as the first. We made reservations for 8:00 p.m. and weren't seated until around 8:45 p.m. The bread that was brought out with the salsa was cold on the inside. We got a few plates to share. The catch of the day (not sure what kind of white fish it was over a bed of quinoa) was very fishy, angus steak- served on a heated pan was very overcooked and tough, bravas (served with an egg on top which made the French fries extremely soggy). The second time we came here was very underwhelming. Overall it was a positive experience, I would probably stick to the recommended dishes I mentioned above.

Delicious dinner with friends. We all got Pisco Sour We shared pulpo bravo. For me pulpo a la parilla. For David Entrena with fries. For Marissa pizza with cheese and mushrooms For Harman lamb with potatoes. Wines with dinner: pinot noir, malbec, chardonay, and carminiere. Delicious dinner. Check out my photos.

A view of the restaurant from the park. You need to zoom in a bit. It integrates beautifully with its natural surroundings.

Good food but even better drinks! And the views... flamingos, mountains, and bicentennial park. Excellent service. Our waiter spoke English. We tired a few different things. The ceviche was excellent... as were the empanadas. Good place for tapas.

Mestizo - couldn't you you follow me home to Saint Louis? Okay, I know it's farfetched but this place was so awesome!!! A colleague of mine recommended I try mestizo so I planned a lunch there the Sunday I arrived in Santiago. When my other colleagues arrived 3 days later, I had no hesitation taking them back for dinner! First of all, walking into Mestizo on a warm sunny day is almost overwhelming in itself. The restaurant has a very modern feel and overlooks the beautiful bicentenario park - the view alone would be worth going to see! Service was casual but very accomodating with very friendly servers both times I dined in. For lunch, I had the ribeye steak with white rice - it was cooked excellently and very well seasoned. The rice was so flavorful as well - I was so surprised as I didn't expect anything other than white rice! When I came for dinner, we started with the trio of empanadas and I had the beef short ribs (asado de tira) with gnocchi and black truffle. Holy cow - this might have been the best beef short ribs I've ever had...the pasta component was amazing as well. Empanadas were awesome as well! Both meals, warm bread was served with a kind of salsa which was really great. I had to try a pisco sour as it was my first time in Chile and this was excellently prepared. Be mindful if you visit that there is no English menu but if you speak some spanish, you should get by fine. I felt so privileged to visit Santiago for business and Mestizo was one of a few reasons I absolutely loved the city!!!

From the ambiance, the setting, the location to the food I would recommend this place HANDS DOWN! The views and the setting is just amazing. Sitting here on the park with a great view and great weather and great people I couldn't have been happier. I will warn you on Saturday morning for Lunch this place gets packed and the wait will be long. They don't open until 12:30PM so the lunch rush is there when they open. We had to wait over an hour, but the staff was so kind when we told them we had a wine tour to make and they were accommodating. See what we ordered below [cant find menu online so the names will not be exact]: Cheese - the app that was melted cheese was amazing. It came with bread slices and it was delicious. Risotto - the risotto was also AMAZING, probably one of my favorite dishes of the lunch. I believe it was a braised lamb, or some kind of meat and the meat was very on point. Tuna Tartare - FAVORITE appetizer. The flavors were amazing and I just kept wanting more. Ceviche Sampler - The three different types of ceviche came on this one and they were ALL great! The flavors were amazing and i didn't expect anything less. Octopus - This was my least favorite appetizer as it came with potatoes and in a chorizo flavored oil. the dish was too greasy and the flavors weren't that great. White Sangria - definitely the way to go. the drink was refreshing and had a taste of cucumber. It was AMAZING.

We dined here our first night in the city. The concierge recommended this place after we explained we wanted amazing food, wine, and a top notch local experience. We were not disappointed! The service was superb, the atmosphere was modern, rustic and eclectic. It was a gorgeous setting with open fire pits and decadent views of the urban surroundings. Sexy and fun. The food was all divine. I liked the grilled octopus the most and the syra we had here was 5 star. Prices are so reasonable it's amazing! Of the many dining experiences we had in Chile this place is in my top 3. Go there.

Great food great ambiance! Service was just OK but the food was great. Pachas are ok but the empanadas of ceviche and the pulpo are great. Had the tuna for main course and really enjoyed it. The risotto looked amazing.

The plus here... most of the folks (other than us) seemed like neighborhood locals. When you're traveling, go where the locals go :) In fact we met the owner who was sitting at the table next to us with some German expats, which just added to the warmth and depth of our experience.

The meal started well with friendly service and the Salmon tartare cones. They were delicious! The tables on the patio are wonderful. We ordered the salmon and the Sea Bass. I was particularly looking forward to having Chilean Sea Bass while in Chile. Ironically the salmon was the hit and the Sea Bass was dry. Also, after we chose to order just a glass of wine each instead of a bottle, our waiter abandoned us. He stopped checking on us and we had to ask for the check (albeit typical in Chile) after quite a long wait. Please note this isn't a bad restaurant, it's just not consistently great for a 5 star hotel. There are many options for good dining in Santiago, this one is average for fine dining.

Before we can even decide on an appetizer, we were greeted with freshly warm biscuits that were stuffed with caramelized onions and a cone of tuna Crudo (on the house!). Pro Tip: Request a taste of several wines, including the regional Carmanere (originating from France, but rediscovered in Chile). Camilo provided us with exceptional service and even surprised us with a parting gift! It was a pleasure getting to know him and hope to cross paths with him in the future.
