It's the place to get a cut in the north shore, solid barbers and better environment.

No wait, two boys haircuts in minutes, no tears and open on Mondays! Clean and modern barber shop with bright lighting and clean bathrooms. Both boys cuts were just as I wanted, short and neat, with attention to detail. I've taken them to other shops in the area, but I'm relieved to have found this place. The barbers were young and friendly with my boys and took the time to be nice and chatty with them to keep them distracted. My youngest was quite vocal about his displeasure with sitting still, and he came through it with a smile and a very nice hair cut. Love the lime green barber pole, and the moustached signage. Multiple flat screen TVs with news and sports, not that we needed them, with zero waiting. read more

Best barbershop around! The guys in here are so awesome and really make it an awesome experience. I bring my nephew here and he loves it, they make him feel like one of the guys and his hair cut always comes out perfect. Not only are the people awesome, but it's pristine as well! Highly recommend! read more

During my time there even a simple boy's haircut was apparently a challenge task. As well as their staff is extremely rude, we where sitting for a half hour and got skipped twice after being acknowledged by the staff. Not only this but the staff appears so have a extreme rude bias. read more

Great group of guys! As with all barbershops, there's typically one barber you wait for, but I've experienced cuts from different barbers within this shop and I'm always satisfied. All 3 of my teenage sons go here as well and they have been satisfied too. If you're in a rush, you can even schedule ahead with certain barbers. Drop by and check them out sometime! read more

Messina's Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Danvers, Massachusetts

Absolutely the best barber shop in the Boston Area. The place is very modern and has a great atmosphere. Tony (the italian owner) is the best barber I've ever been to! He is so meticulous with his cuts and he makes sure it is perfect before you leave. I will never go to another barbershop or barber as long as this place stays in business!! They cut people of all ages and show great generousity and love to people of all ages (kids, senior citizens etc) they are legit and the most PRISTINE barbershop in greater Boston location. read more

This isn't a barbershop so much as a place for "bros" to hang out. Cutting hair appears to be an after thought since they're not very good at it. I watched anxiously as barbers gave hair cuts to patrons and simultaneously carried full conversations with their friends. It's a very unprofessional environment and if i had kids I would not feel comfortable bringing them here. The cut itself was a painful experience. Literally. It hurt! Very aggressive use of the clippers and my neck was destroyed with the straight razor. I still have a big pink scrape. read more

Love getting my hair cut here. The guys always are having a good time and that feeling passes through the clients. Haven't had a bad cut from these guys yet read more

This barbershop was great. The staff had a good vibe, great customer service, and Nate did an awesome job on my cut. I was only in town for two weeks and I needed a cut 1/2 way during my stay. These guys took care of me for sure. Major recommend!!! read more

Excellent haircut, great barber (Dana). I'll be back. At first, I thought the Fantastic Sams in the next block had taken over, so don't be confused and look for the green sign. read more

Can't imagine getting a haircut anywhere else in the NorthShore area. Lately my schedule has forced me to look in boston, but if you're nearby and can make it to Messina's, GO. I used to work with Tony (Cuttz) and he is the man. Whether you want a fade with a line up or a comb over you're good to go. Cool interior with funny staff. If you live within the area, head to Messina's read more

Lmaooo I had to start out with a burst of laughter because some of these older negative reviews are hilarious. Like seriously has nobody been to a real barbershop with grown men or adults before? Or watched any movie? Haha if this is too much for you then you wouldnt last 15 minutes in a latino barbershop. Listen we are all big boys here if you want one of the best cuts on the north shore along with some hilarious stories and some great tunes at an afforadable rate, look no further. Tom Gs review had me on the floor crying because that was most likely a true scenario but re told his way. All the barbers there are great at what they do especially with the kids. Once they are in the area with or with out their parents the kids bop comes on and the sports game are running full circle. Rob in particular is a natural with the little ones and he even has a cool super mario figure as a display on his work station. I've been coming here since opening and I love it, always feel like a brand new man with my clean cut especially when my man dan lets his artistic side flow on my noggin haha. You will always feel apart of something there whether if its the workers or the clientele making you feel welcomed. They do appointments if you know them well but mostly walk ins, expect a moderate wait time because they are always busy even on slow days and have a nice batch of regulars. read more

Messina's Barbershop - Can't get cuts like this at supercuts haha - Barbers Near Me - Danvers, Massachusetts

A barber shop is a barber shop. It's not a hair salon or fashion design shop. You go in get a haircut. Chill. Enjoy good conversation. Then go on with your day. Messina's BARBER SHOP is just that. There is going to be bad "language" (refer to movies and what conversation happens in barber shops i.e. Gran Torino). If you want the fluorescent lighting and wives talking about husbands insufficient salary bringing their model child in for a trim, goto Delaria. I admit, I'd love to get my haircut and get out sometimes because I have other things to do. But let's be realistic. They have a huge number of clientele and it's more than likely gonna take a while. Not that long if your not waiting for a particular barber. The staff most definitely cleans up the language when there are kids around. They're actually very good with kids. All of them! Fact of the matter is, if you want the best fade on the north shore and hear some interesting conversation along the way, go to Messina's. Plain and simple. read more

Best barbershop in the country. I've scoured for good barber shops wherever I've lived from east to west coast. ALL these guys cut well. I just read the two bad reviews about this place, i disagree with what those reviews are based on. As long as they keep cutting the way they do, they can swear, shun, talk trash, and even smell like it too for all i care. Keep up the good work guys!! read more

I have been going here for last 1 year and never got disappointed. I show them a pic in my phone or just tell them what I need and they do the perfect job. Weekend mornings are lil busier with 30-40 min of waiting time but it's worth the wait. Price for Men's haircut is $17-$23 + tip, depending on kind of style you want. And yes, there is always interesting conversation going on in there. read more

Unbelievable. Incredible customer service and a fresh cut to boot. Tony cut my hair and did a truly remarkable job. These guys are truly master barbers and know exactly the right kind of cut to give you. The only drawback is that they're cash only - I wanted to leave a bigger tip! read more

This shop is a JOKE! Sat and waited for a haircut for over an hour. Was never greeted by the staff when i entered. The employees cutting at the time. They all had customers in their chairs and 6 people waiting. The employees openly talked about banging girls and the crazy vacations they took and how the people on the trip couldnt hang. Meanwhile the 6 people waiting foolishly wait. The staff has no sense of urgency. A fourth employee walks in to deliver the coffee and then cut hair. Doesnt announce hes available to cut just allows anyone to jump in the chair instead of looking/asking to find out whos next. As someone who is from out of town, this was a horrible barber shop to go try and get a cut at. Not to mention ALL cursing and im from NY. So that must tell you how bad this service was. read more

Been here a few times and had my hair cut from different barber and never had a problem always turn out nice I get a lot of complement from people these guys here got mad skills and their funny ass hell good funny environment it's never dull here at all I am a loyal customer I'm never going anywhere else super cuts don't got shit on these guys ... read more

Went here for a few years but stopped going because of the ridiculous wait you have to endure to get a half decent haircut that I can pay half the price for. Got good haircuts here then terrible haircuts here. Went back a few days ago to give it another chance, they had an opportunity of small window and they missed it. And let me tell you they MISSED it. They don't seem to have any clue on how much half off the top is; didn't think that meant buzz cut. Will not be coming here anymore. For whoever is reading his save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

waited 25 minutes. Barbers Talked about what they watch for porn in detail and how one barber wanted to jerk off in the bathroom during his break. Haircut took 50 minutes. Was the worst hair cut I've ever had. Guys seem nice enough but no idea what they are doing and one of the most unprofessional business I've ever been too. 4.5 stars for this place is lie. 50 minutes for a fade, and it's a hack job? Really? read more

This place gives the best cuts I've ever had, hands down. No other place even comes close to their quality. I got a cut from Dana - he took his time and paid attention to every single little detail for my fade up to a hard part with a combover, and the result was fantastic. I've never felt better walking out of a barbershop. I'll most certainly be back. If you're in the area, this is the place to get a cut. read more

First time in love it, got a great cut and beard trim. I'll make sure to keep coming back thanks guys!

4 barbers, busy spot which means people know they do a good job. When waiting you think...Damn these guys take forever to do a hair cut. When you are in the chair you think damn these guys are meticulous and do a nice job. Straight edge razor for neck etc. Which you don't see much anymore. For those concerned about the conversation in the shop...consider this a PG13 spot. Tvs are tuned to channels not for little kids and conversation is guys talking about guy stuff. If you don't like that take your child to Snippets. ;) read more

Great place for a cut. Walk in be ready to wait, it's pretty happening there. The art on the walls are pretty interesting to look at, and the guys cutting are very friendly. They are welcoming and still knows what to do very well with your cut. If you can't take too much more of the wait, there's likely to be a game on the screens in the shop. Thanks Messina's. read more

This place is unbelievable. Leave feeling and looking great every time. You may wait a bit for a chair but that is only because they put in the attention and detail into every cut. read more

Went in for a hair cut...... I waited for an hour after I called and they told me, no wait. The "barbers" we're talking about where they were going out that night, and how "fucked up" they were gonna get, and sometimes cutting hair..... I got a regular hair cut the took almost an hour.... Terrible business!! This place is more like a club for "bro's" than a barber shop... read more

They can cut hair decently here. But they really don't pay any attention to the client's needs; don't bother asking either cuz they are too busy talking to other people and discussing their latest conquests. I'm from NYC but the language and the lack of professionalism is probably why they attract a certain clientele. First and last one here. Walk a couple blocks down for a real and authentic barber shop....Zollo's! read more

I've recently moved to the North Shore of Boston and am appalled at the lack of good barbers in the area. I've looked all the way from the tip of Cape Ann in Rockport down to Danvers / Peabody. The wait times are long and many barbers are getting on in years and don't quite understand the needs of today's casual businessman. Others cater to the very young with buzz cuts and mohawks. Finally I found Tony at Messina's who got what it takes to do a trim to the correct length and makes it look effortless. The conversation is good and the four male barbers were all pleasant and took great pains to please their customers who were as young as 9 and as old as 70. The wait was 45 minutes and they take no appointments, so be prepared to cool your heels for a few minutes. It's well worth the wait! read more

Great place awesome haircuts only drawback is sometimes the wait is way to long and the barbers get lost in shooting the breeze then getting haircuts done, I've literally waited over a hour and while I waited I saw at least 8 people leave, so while I give 4 stars that's for the cuts, keep up the good work guys but little less gabbing and and little more hustle read more

Best barbershop around.....every barber is great. No need to wait for your favorite Barber at this shop, they're all good.

There is no better barbershop in the country. All of the guys here are highly skilled gentlemen. I always love coming here because i feel like im amongst friends. The place is always clean and they make it a point to make everyone feel comfortable. Great to see such a great bunch of young men doing great work. read more

Went in today for a cut, and could not believe the language that was being tossed around. F-bombs a flying! And there were kids in there, too. I left. I'm no prude, but that is no way to run a business. The owner should have better control over his staff. Thumbs down. read more

Exactly as described in the other 1 star reviews. No sense of urgency or professionalism on the part of the employees. Just a lot of crude language and inappropriate topics being discussed. They definitely appeal to a specific clientele. read more

I wanted to give a try to a new barbershop. I have a friend that is a master barber at Sportman's Barbershop in Beverly on Enon St. He and the other barbers are well skilled and very courteous but I figured I give a new guy on the block a try. The shop is clean and has a lot of flat screen TVs. Their are four barbers. Now, my seven year old daughter was with me and it wasn't an environment for a young child. I understand the barbershop mentality. Guys exhibit that stereotypical male bravado. But I think some of the guys in the shop went a little to far. One of the guys began talking with one of the other barbers using expletives that start with the letter F loud enough for me and my daughter to hear them. He saw me stare at him and in his defense apologized. As I continued to wait to get my hair cut another barber started with saying other derogatory language. I spoke up to the owner and didn't understand how he was allowing this language in his shop. He said sorry in an insincere manner. He said to me you are in a "barbershop". I know how barbershops run successful businesses and as far as letting barbers use foul language in earshot of patrons is not conducive to good business practices. Also, the shop is in a town that has a lot of families and situated in the heart of town. I'm sure that I won't be the only parent bringing their child into their barbershop. Anyway, like I said the place is clean and I'm sure the barbers can do good work and are skilled at doing all the haircuts that young kids like. I just think they need to change their idea of what a "barbershop" should be. read more

These guys are so talented but they are so concerned with texting and talking to each other it takes forever to get my sons haircut. Very frustrating! read more

The. Absolute. Worst. Meathead central. Went in with my 7 year old son and 10 year old daughter (not getting a cut, obviously), and waited for an hour before I gave up and left. The barbers were beyond slow. Glaciers move faster. Talking is common in every barber shop I've ever been to, but these guys can't do both at the same time. Stop, talk...cut. Repeat. One barber was so entranced by his cell phone that he swung a customer around in the chair twice before realizing it. Amazingly unprofessional, especially some of the talk with kids in the shop. I went to George's in Saugus for years, but tried this place after we moved here. I'll be taking the drive back to Saugus now. If you like to listen 20 something's who say "bro" "fresh" and "can't hang" 3,000 times a minute while your legs become atrophied from waiting, be my guest. read more
