My daughter has grown so much in both confidence and curiosity since starting here and even visits her favorite teacher Ms. Castro. The sports programs are another huge highlight! There's such a great community spirit, and it's clear that the staff..shout out to Mr. Kennedy...values teamwork, leadership, and fun just as much as skill. What I love most is how inviting the environment is. You can feel the pride and positivity in everything from the classrooms to the playground. In addition to providing a safe and secure environment, every staff member truly loves what they do and cares about each and every student. It is a home away from home and I know that each day that I leave my child in their hands, that she is more than well taken care of. They are extremely communicative and share classroom updates, school news and photos of my child each and every day. But my personal experience tells a different story--one where those values were ignored when I needed them most. I was recently removed from St. Bernard for an incident where I acted in self-defense. I didn't start a fight, I didn't go looking for trouble--but when someone put their hands on me, I protected myself. I didn't expect to be rewarded for it, but I definitely didn't expect to be punished either. The school's decision to expel me shows just how broken their system of discipline really is. Instead of investigating the situation fairly or listening to both sides, the administration rushed to judgment. They didn't care about context or truth--they cared about image. To them, it was easier to kick someone out than to admit that their staff might have failed to prevent or de-escalate the situation in the first place. What's worse is the message this sends to other students: if you stand up for yourself, even to protect your own safety, you're the problem. That's not justice. That's cowardice disguised as policy. St. Bernard claims to be a place that prepares young people for life. But life doesn't punish people for defending themselves--it demands it. If this school truly wants to teach real values, it needs to start by practicing them. Let me know if you want to add your personal details, tone it up/down, or include anything specific like what happened in the fight or how they treated you afterward. From day one, the teachers and staff have been supportive, communicative, and deeply invested in each child's success -- academically, socially, and emotionally. What really sets Stetson apart is the culture they've created. The school places a huge emphasis on empathy, kindness, inclusion, and confidence-building. They support students with varying abilities, and work hard to make sure every child feels seen and valued. My kids genuinely love going to school, which speaks volumes. We also love the parent communication and transparency. Their online portal is fantastic - we can log in anytime to see grades, test scores, behavior reports (both positive and negative), their academic goals, and exactly where they are performing relative to grade level. That kind of real-time insight is priceless as a parent. Stetson is also wonderful about keeping families connected to daily life on campus. They are very active on Facebook and frequently post photos and updates so parents can see the fun, creative, and hands-on learning happening in classrooms. The field trips are amazing, and the project-based, experiential approach really keeps students engaged and excited about learning. We're actually moving soon, and honestly, I don't know how my kids are going to adjust to another school after having such an exceptional experience here. Stetson has set the bar incredibly high for what we believe a great school should be. If you're considering Stetson Academy, I wholeheartedly recommend touring and talking with other parents. For our family, it has been nothing short of an outstanding community.

Making strange remarks about funding challenges in such emails and claiming "they don't have an associated church to help them like other schools". - Excluding children from "rewards" or "special activities" if they didn't contribute to fundraising or if they didn't contribute enough, by setting a "goal/price tag" to certain rewards, creating division and emotional stress among children all ages. - Punishing children by not allowing them play during recess when they think they are misbehaving or not performing enough academically. - Giving children a hard time if they need to use the bathroom during class. In my personal experience, there sure is an effort for marketing, like many photos of smiling children posted on social media. But I would advise everyone to pause for a moment before signing anything. These are based on my personal experiences and the experiences that I was informed of by other parents. My opinion is that everybody should have an education attorney review the the contracts/papers provided by this place before signing anything and conduct a thorough research on these issues and talk to other parents who pulled their children.

Because we applied a bit late, we were placed on the waitlist, which we completely understood. What was disappointing was the total lack of follow-up after that point. Despite reaching out directly to the admissions officer to inquire about our waitlist status, we never received a response -- not even a simple notification that a spot was no longer available. When a family pays a $100 application fee, there is a reasonable expectation of communication and transparency throughout the process. To add to the frustration, we continued to receive marketing emails about summer programs despite never hearing back about our child's application. The disconnect between their marketing outreach and their admissions communication was striking. We can't speak to the school itself, but based solely on the application experience, the lack of follow-through left a poor impression.

It also makes me feel comfortable that they are doing everything in their power to help my child succeed and thrive. I love that they allow him to excel academically (even past his grade level) as well as support him with challenging subjects (teachers stay current with where he's at and are skilled at providing support very quickly if the child needs it while also keeping parents in the loop so we can help when needed too) while allowing him to stay with his grade level of peers so he's not only being cultivated in the classroom, but also learning to be social amongst peers his age. A big concern of mine was coming out of covid, my child wanted to so desperately make friends, but I know sometimes kids show no mercy. At Sonder Creek, overall it's been way over my expectations. Very involved parents, attentive staff that keeps you in the loop, and students who are open to connecting to one another.  My child has loved the STEM programs at school (especially the after school robotics class) as well as learning both Mandrin and Spanish (coming from an English speaking household, it's been amazing seeing him now speak another language which we will continue to encourage moving forward). He also is asking to do the after school Art program and this is coming from a child who started off barely wanting to hold a pencil correctly.  The community here is so special and you get to see that when everyone comes together. This was our first year we participated in Trunk or Treat with his school and it was such a blast; we will be doing it again next year. The international potluck is a family favorite to attend (combo of incredible foods from all over as well as mini performances from the language programs with the students is so darn adorable) and the Christmas Concert is absolutely precious. Sonder Creek is our child's school and we cannot recommend it enough.

The school looks very appealing. Unfortunately, there has been much turnover within the staff, to varying degrees of quality. Recent months have proved very concerning. There has been a lack of control surrounding gun-related content among the children, which I never thought could be an issue at a preschool. One child had very specific, graphic violent language (my initial review included a few of his phrases and was flagged by Yelp). This child told me he was making guns from legos, and said other deeply alarmingly violent things to other children, observed by staff. We and other parents expressed our concerns over this issue for months on end, and the staff hemmed and hawed and sat on their hands. Many meetings were offered, but there was no corrective action taken. We left because we wanted to protect our child from gun-related content, but there were other issues. Despite touting otherwise, there is no "curriculum", no learning goals established week to week or month to month. The plan seems to be to survive the day, understandably. We had hoped for more kindergarten preparation, and less "daycare" as our son got older and more capable. There also was not one, but two, separate instances of teachers posting pictures of students to their personal Instagram accounts, obviously without parental consent. This school looks super sweet, but optics deceived us, as there clearly is no global plan. Every childcare facility will have its issues, and there will always be other families and staff members with different values than you - but it's up to the school to ensure there is a safe learning environment, which this school failed at, in our experience.

My search for…read morethe right place for my children was incredibly stressful like many parents, I'm very particular about who I trust with my kids. When I came across L'Academy, I called to ask a few questions, and they immediately offered to schedule a tour so I could see if it was the right fit for our family. The moment I walked in, I knew this was the place for us! My daughter started at L'Academy when she was just over a year old in the baby room. She had never been cared for by anyone other than me or her father, so naturally, we both cried that first day. But the staff handled everything with such warmth and care. They welcomed her with so much love that her tears disappeared within seconds -- and mine soon followed. One of my favorite things about L'Academy is the parent app. It keeps us updated throughout the day with details on meals, nap times, diaper changes, and even adorable photos of our little ones (shared securely only with parents). Now, my daughter is over two and in the toddler room, and her development has been amazing. Her speech and knowledge have grown tremendously -- she can sing her ABCs, count to 20, and even count to 10 in Spanish! (Neither her father nor I speak Spanish, so I know she learned that from her wonderful teachers!) The staff is incredibly attentive and proactive. If there's ever a minor incident, they immediately intervene and document everything in the app for parents. I recently enrolled my second daughter, who is now six months old, and this time there were no tears at all -- from either of us! It's such a relief knowing both my babies are in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment while I'm at work. As parents, we all know how hard it is to entrust someone else with our children. As an admittedly overprotective mom, I can confidently say L'Academy has been the perfect place for our family. The teachers are truly amazing, kind-hearted, patient, and full of genuine love for these kids. Seeing the way they interact with the children often brings tears to my eyes. My daughter talks about her teachers constantly and how much she loves them. Thank you to the incredible staff at L'Academy for caring for my babies as if they were your own, and for giving this anxious mom such peace of mind. You are all truly a blessing!
