I'd give MM a higher review BUT the person who you have to deal with to hire this service, the one who manages the phone, makes the appointments, etc, is HORRIBLE. I've spoken with her numerous times and each time she's pre loaded for a fight, combative, wants to prove the customer wrong instead of simply solving a simple problem (scheduling). She can not be wrong. And has no idea what it means to serve a customer. The women who clean are pretty good. But the person you have to speak to to hire them can ruin your day with one call. The first time I spoke with her I figured she had a bad day. Then the next time, same, and the next, same etc. She's just a monster. read more

I've used this company a few times but never again. The woman running the office is not honest. Beware of FALSE QUOTES and random extra charges that they don't inform you of... CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. I called to get a quote to clean my mom's house. I explained that she was selling it and the house would need to be cleaned, including all appliances. We discussed this very clearly on the phone. I asked for the quote, which I was told would be $410. On the day of the cleaning, I went to the house, gave each cleaning woman an extra $20 tip in cash. They did a decent job (although later I realized they didn't clean under the fridge and I had to finish that part myself.) But my bigger concern was that my credit card was then charged $510 !! When I called to let the manager (I believe Jessica) know that they made a mistake, she told me that she charged extra fees to clean appliances. I asked her why she didn't include that in the quote when I called. She had no explanation. Also, adding to the shadiness, they didn't email me a receipt until I requested one on that phone call... I assume because they didn't want to call attention that they were charging me $100 more than she had quoted me on the phone. When I said that I didnt think that was right, she said "well, I'd offer you a discount on your next cleaning but since you sold the house, I guess you don't need that." I informed her that I own 2 other properties in Santa Fe but would NOT use merry maids again... I have an out of state phone number for my work (maybe that's why she thought she could con me) but I grew up here, live here and I'm telling everyone I know not to use merry maids. I can only hope there was a miscommunication with the scheduling lady at the office and the people out working. I was charged $385 for a less than 1200 sq ft house. Two ladies came and said they would be done in 2 hours. I had requested a deep cleaning. The prior year I had done a remodel and I felt like widow sills, etc might still be dusty. I left them 20% and had to run an errand. I never saw them leave on my ring camera because someone unplugged the modem. They swept the floors but never used wood cleaner. Merry maids said they bring all of there own cleaners but they asked me for cleaners. I had hard wood floor cleaner that I would have been happy to give them. IDK something is fishy and way over-priced. Somebody please open a cleaning company in SF. read more

They are a bit pricey, but I like that I can call them anytime for a cleaning. I use them about 4-5 times a year when I need extra attention to things like bathrooms and kitchen, or before I have guests coming over. With other cleaning services they want you to subscribe to a schedule, which doesn't fit my needs. The day-to-day cleaning I can handle myself, but I like a good professional cleaning on occasion. The maids have always been kind, efficient, and done a good job. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they are expensive. read more

Service was excellent with one crew. Those people left the company and the subsequent crews have been a disappointment, particularly considering the high rates Merry Maids charges. If you get a good crew, you will be happy, but if not, Merry Maids doesn't appear to supervise or follow up with training, so your chances of having a good experience are minimal in that case. The office staff initially was helpful and responsive, but that tailed off with time. Now they forget to return calls they promise to make, make mistakes about cleaning appointment times and generally don't seem eager. I would not recommend using Merry Maids unless you get a crew you like and who do a good job. If you have a crew who are not terrific, things will not get better. The people Merry Maids send are honest and careful, even if not always hard working. read more

I recently moved into a new apartment, and merry maids was tasked with cleaning it the day before I moved in. I couldn't find any evidence that they had actually been in the house at all. At first I thought it was fine. It then I took off my shoes and noticed that there where tons of dust and pet hair covering the floor. On closer inspection I found that the bathroom was absolutely filthy! Grime in the toilet, shower, and all of the fixtures. How does a professional cleaning crew totally over look the only bathroom in the house. My land lord hired the crew but wasn't able to check out the apartment after they 'cleaned'. Leaving me to think that Merry Maids totally took advantage of the situation knowing that my land lord would not be back before I moved in. Shame on Merry Maids. read more

We have hired several different cleaning individuals in the past and was reluctant to hire Merry Maids as they looked like they were going to be more expensive. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made! They are always on time, consistent, and happy. The team approach keeps their energy up and gets them finished quickly. It seems that they always do something extra, like a window, vacuum an extra room, of clean the fridge. We have been very happy with Merry Maids, going on maybe 4 years now. read more

I love Merry Maids and I do love my ladies. I have used this service since I was injured and my home sparkles when they are done. I find that other people complain about the price but I say what is my time worth? And could I make my home sparkle like they do..no...I am a fan. read more

In some respects I agree with the other review. If you can get a good crew and they stay with the company you are in luck. I have had a good crew leader and am very happy with the service. Any problems I have had are taken care of by the office with no problems. The have been courteous and professional. I have the service twice a month. read more
