TL;DR: You will pay $140 for two people to just wash (almost) all of your dishes and take out the trash. After using Merry Maids, I have greater empathy for the Fyre Festival attendees because I now know what it is like to be promised a grand service only to find out that you've been scammed out of your money. I paid Merry Maids to do the following: 1) clean the kitchen and the bathroom, 2) fold my laundry, and 3) take out the trash. I did not ask them to vacuum the non-bathroom areas, but I did request light dusting. I paid for two hours worth of cleaning. I was concerned about the costliness of the service (since other cleaning services I've used were not that expensive), but the account executive assuaged my fears by discussing their BBB rating, and I naïvely took that at face value. Two maids arrived at my house on the morning I requested the service. Before I left the house, I gave them a quick tour (I live in a one bed/one bathroom apartment) and let them know what needed to be done. I went to my exercise class expecting to be pleased with the service when I got home. When I left the exercise class, I saw a phone call and two text messages from the account executive; she said that they were only able to clean the kitchen, and she needed me to authorize more time. I was perplexed and livid because I realized that I paid $140 for two people to do the dishes and wipe the countertops. I texted the account executive back, and shortly thereafter she called me. She told me that since two people came, they could only work for an hour; so, she continued, one person cleaned the counters, and the other washed the dishes. In addition, she told me that they spent a lot of time cleaning up water because the dishwasher was leaking. I asked her why they didn't lock the dishwasher before turning it on, and the account executive, who seemed to have an epiphany as to why the dishwasher was leaking, acknowledged that the maids didn't think of doing that simple action. I came home to find that the kitchen counter tops were clean and the trash was taken out, but the maids left what they swept in the kitchen on the floor in a pile, and some of the dishes were still not clean!! The bathroom tub and counter tops were hastily wiped; the floor was neglected. I sent a photo to the account executive, and she rationalized it by saying that they had to stop abruptly because their time was up. Absolutely unprofessional! I called customer support multiple times, but no managers could be reached. read more

Do not hire this company! This has to be the most unprofessional and by far the worst cleaning company I have ever hired. These pictures will show the reason for this review and these were taken when they said the job was done . Then more pictures were taken after the owner sent out a crew for a re- clean , because shortly after receiving the pictures she said she was so embarrassed that her employees would leave it that way ! I was then assured by the owner the job would be done correctly before I came home after a 10 hour flight ! I expressed to her how much I needed my job completed , due to my stressful job in healthcare and being a full time caretaker for my handicapped daughter , while raising my granddaughter ! All this took a lot out of me and I had NO PROBLEM paying extra if it took more time I told her . Sadly her word was NO GOOD and I walked into a home where I had to re-mop my floors after a long flight , bath my granddaughter because her feet were so black just shortly after getting in the house! Laundry that is thrown outside of a bedroom door with not even any care of putting it in the laundry basket right next to it and no attention to detail even after a second clean. ALL these pictures are from a company who said the job was completed!!! Cleaners are so sweet but the quality of cleaning is terrible. Company's response is to just send people back out to make the bed they didn't make it or clean the counter that still has crumbs and a dirty paper towel on it- I hired a cleaning service because I do not have time. My husband was so upset I even paid them because you couldn't tell they were there. I don't fault the cleaners- I fault the owner after looking at reviews. $350 for a deep cleaning that was a joke before the standard weekly cleaning even started. Pros: "Maids" are friendly and do a decent job. Cons: Customer service is pushy and unreliable My wife won a contest last year for a free in home cleaning. We were excited and called to claim our prize. A representative came out to our home and gave us the hard sell. I get it, they don't make any money on a free cleaning. After refusing to sign a service contract and simply claim the prize of a free cleaning, we scheduled a date about two weeks in advance; the day before my Daughter's 4th birthday party. The date of the cleaning comes and no one shows up. We call the office and they argue with us about us having the wrong date. We have the paperwork in our hands and are clearly right, they should have come that day. Eventually CS gives in and tells us they will send someone right over. 4 hours later three maids arrive and rush through a cleaning. What was supposed to be a three hour "deep cleaning" turned into a 1.5 hour rush job. The ladies were very nice and courteous, but it was obvious they were called to squeeze us in as scheduling had screwed up. Then recently my wife won another gift certificate for MM. I told her not to even bother, but she wanted to give them another shot. Again the sales rep comes to the house and again gives us the hard sell. Even though we had a $200 credit, because of the prize, they asked for our credit card information. Today I open the Amex bill and low and behold they charged me for the service that was supposed to be free. I called the office and got a person who didn't seem to care that I was charged when I shouldn't have been and told me that they'd look into it. When I asked when to expect a call back I was told today by 5 pm or Monday, to which I replied, that is fine, but if I don't hear from anyone I will call Amex to have them handle it. To which he replied "We encourage that" with an attitude that clearly said "whatever". With so many cleaning options, I would highly encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

I was shopping around for cleaning services for quite some time. They're all pretty much the same price but Merry Maids impressed me when an awesome individual came out and went through my house room by room with me to know what I wanted cleaned and how I wanted it done. I was able to practically customize my cleaning. When the ladies showed up for the first cleaning, they were right on time and super friendly. We spent a few moments together so my dog would be comfortable with them when I left for work. They also left a note communicating a few things to me they thought I would like to know/were important. And best part yet, the cleaning was amazing!! They did such a great job :) read more
