Beers are why people come of course. It's about $7 a pint. Best one we had of these was the Tawny Ale. This is an Irish Red of medium strength. It's about $12 for a soft pretzel. These are massive so they're great for sharing. One of the dips looked like peanut butter. This was actually fudge if you can believe it, and you can get cheese as well as mustard. For sure it's one of this city's main attractions. It's got lots of beers, and because it's in the Pretzel City, get one of those to munch on. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

It is located along the Wisconsin River a short drive outside of Madison. Vintage Brewing is right on the river, giving the patio a really pretty setting. The patio is large and has a great spot for bands with plenty of tables for the audience. We decided to order dinner while we were there. I am not a beer drinker so I ordered the Wisconsinite ( a blackberry brandy old-fashioned). It wasn't bad, but definitely more on the sweet side than I care for. We shared the fried cheese curds, which had a great flavor, though not the best I've had. I really enjoyed my blackened salmon salad. The salmon was delicious and the salad was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich. They had some fun swag for sale, and I came home with a cute pink t-shirt. It has quite a few beers on tap to choose from in a few styles. As for the food it's pretty average. There's a lot of meaty things. Crowded place with a bar area and tables for groups. It's best known for the beers obviously. There's a pretty great variety on tap. A lot more in bottles and cans. It's about $7 a pint. Best we had of these was the Oktoberfest. This is a Marzen lager that's rich and smooth. As for the food it's mostly meaty choices. It's about $5 to get the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. The rest of the menu has smoked brisket and pulled pork so the place is meaty. Got to say the beers are the best things to get here. It's closed Mondays and Tuesdays. He offered food recommendations, served as photographer, laughed at our jokes and even brought us milk for our coffee, as the only creamer was French vanilla.
