So we took the leap to get some help with cleaning our home. This place seemed to have good reviews and pricing so we gave it a shot. They recommend a deep clean for the first clean and we felt that is a good idea as well. When they arrived at first they said a deep clean was not really needed. We said we don't mind paying for the deep clean to get started. They had finished their last job early so they asked if they could arrive early. This was no problem. However when they were here they seemed rushed to get done so they could pick up their kids from school but yet one left to go grab some smokes In the middle of our services. When they were here we had some things going on and really could not do a full inspection of our home after they were done. At first everything looked good but now we are seeing the mess ups. Most of it is missed stuff. However they ruined my 1 year old over the range microwave. It's like they used sand paper to clean it. It is completely scratched and un repairable. I would like to be contacted by the owner to see how we are going to fix this issue. Please see pics to see how my home was left. Anything they asked us to move or get out of the way was completed. We tried to be as accommodating as possible. In the end we are not very happy with the over all service as well as pretty angry about our damaged microwave ****Update Review**** Michelle the owner promptly called me regarding my concerns. Very professional. I would like to point out that the company I'm apart of relies on yelp largely and reviews mean a lot so I thought it would be best to leave the original review and let you know how she handled the issues. She is going to have another crew come out and do an another good deep clean as well as address issues with the microwave. She was very apologetic even though it's was not actually her fault and is going to promptly resolve the issue. We appreciate her professionalism. ****additional up date***** With somewhat dealing in customer service my self it's nice to see a business owner with great customer service. They came back to our home and did a satisfactory job this time around. They also provided us with a new microwave to repair the damages. DISAPPOINTING SERVICE. Times are hard right now on everyone (covid pandemic) and I definitely understand how hard covid has made life and how difficult running a business can be - but the service conducted by MerMaids is unacceptable. There was no communication for days and the mermaid's team failed to show up for scheduled cleanings several times without giving any notice. My guests arrived at an uncleaned cabin - fortunately, they were kind enough to stay and clean it for me. It's really unfortunate because we used to be very happy with Mermaids as we had been doing business with Michelle for a while & mermaids was our go-to cleaning company! I try my best to be super understanding of everyone's personal situations, so the first few mistakes were okay and I worked around all of the miscommunication - this could only work for so long though. After making sure to schedule well over a month in advance with Michelle, I had thought that the cabin would be taken care of, or at least I'd receive notice that Mermaids couldn't show up to clean. It got to the point where I had to check-in and re-confirm cleanings with her and ask for my invoices so I could make sure she was getting paid promptly and that the cabin was getting cleaned before guests arrived. I would've happily taken it upon myself to clean the home before guests arrived, but I trusted that Michelle and her team would uphold their commitment to the dates that I scheduled. She failed to communicate any of her personal and business complications. That is unacceptable - especially when you're responsible for the well-being of guests that are involved and you're trying to run a business! Spare yourself. Do Not put your trust in this company - you will be disappointed. read more

Okay, so I have been waiting to post a review for sometime, because I was hoping to see some improvement and thought maybe if I kept the same housekeepers, they would eventually 'Remember' everything that was agreed upon hiring the service. Not once did they ever complete all the tasks that were agreed upon and they did only enough to make the house appear to be fully cleaned. There was ALWAYS many things they skipped, and a few things they NEVER did that was on the agreement. Light fixtures, baseboards, toaster over, tops of higher dressers, top of over-the-range microwave, top of refrigerator were commonly skipped, only the tops of the dining room chairs got done routinely, leaving the bottom part dusty. They skipped my wood trunks in the living room, the end table on the far end of the living room has been skipped several times. Have you ever seen anyone get a broom and dust pan and spot sweep, and immediately spot mop that area??? Wow!! After the second time I saw that, I was like, "Can you please sweep the entire floor, after that, can you please mop the entire floor?? Lol. I had to send a message to Michelle, who owns this lousy business and ask her to please ask her workers to move the chairs out of the dining room before sweeping and mopping. I've had many housekeepers before as do my parents and we've never seen anyone clean like that. The girls were really so nice and easy to talk to, that I wanted to try working it out with them, but it seemed that they were just not competent enough to get it all done in the time allotted. They worked relatively slow, which was fine because I don't, and never will pay hourly for this kind of service as they milk the time to get paid more, so time was not important, they could work slowly if they wanted to and it was fine. About the only thing that I feel got done right was the vacuuming. I don't like my floors to be vacuumed quickly because you can't get all the dirt up. If you can still hear dirt coming into the cleaner, then there's still dirt on the floor. So for me, they vacuumed more slowly, but it still could have been done better. I do want to mention this too, because I think it's helpful for anyone looking for a good housekeeper. The owner Michelle did the first cleaning with her sister and daughter, and frankly, I was disappointed and was already looking for someone else...kept them on until then. But for the next cleaning, new girls were hired on, Nicole and Tawny. Like I said, I kept them because they were nice girls and I thought they would eventually get it right. Sadly, they just couldn't. Let me say this. They were better than nothing. They didn't break anything, and on the surface the house did look clean enough. What I worried about was having to do deep cleaning soon because they left so much undone. I didn't ask for anything more than what I have received before and what my parents currently receive. I've been waiting for a full time opening to hire their housekeepers, but they are so good, their clients are keeping them, making it hard to get onto their client list. I have to say though, the ONLY reason I am taking the time to write this negative review is because they were going to just leave me hanging without any type of phone call or message letting me know they didn't plan on coming. I messaged Michelle's phone twice, then Nicole's asking why they haven't made the next appointment. Finally Michelle sent me a message that they weren't going to be able to clean my house anymore. When in all actuality, the reason is because I always called them out on their work, or lack thereof. The last time I did make a fuss because my baseboards were beginning to look dusty. Every housekeeper I've ever had was able to quickly suck the dust up with the vacuum cleaner...but not Mermaids. I complained that the tops of dressers, microwave, and fridge were not getting done...basically everything I mentioned at top. So rather than really do what they agreed upon and actually clean the entire house, they quit. It's terribly hard to get people to do a good job these days. Too many people want to be lazy, don't want to do the work, but still want the money. I will continue to wait on my parent's great housekeepers. By the way, my house is only 1916 sf with no clutter and it takes 2 girls 2 hours to not even get the whole house done with Mermaids. My parents have an almost 4,000 sf house (twice as large) with tons of nick knacks, with 3 housekeepers who get it ALL done, floor to ceiling in 2 hours flat. And get this, they only pay $35 more each cleaning than I did. I do not recommend Mermaids. Sorry. :) read more

I was very disappointed with their service. I expected to find everything spotless and to find almost nothing done was very disappointing and embarrassing. Especially when the buyer of my home had sent a friend to clean up after Mermaid cleaning was to have cleaned the night before. Only to find the floors and window sills I'm cleaned. The stove, fridge and counters were not cleaned. I had left the home fairly clean to begin with and paid for and expected even more thorough cleaning. Very little if anything had been done. They came back and still didn't go the job I expected or paid for. read more

Michelle, the owner, is amazing! She is super quick with her responses. She came personally with her crew at our home on our first meet. Her crew were kind and paid attention to details. They knew exactly what they were doing. They did an amazing job! You can even smell how clean and sanitized it was. And because this was my first home listing on Airbnb, Michelle made sure not to be nervous and that everything was going to be ok. Michelle personally supervised and made sure the finished product was up to her standards, and I must say - her standards are even higher than my own. Not only did they clean the entire house (including every cupboard, shelf, and drawer) they even boxed up some of the items left in the guest bath so it would be bare and ready to show! Omg these woman are AMAZING!!! My mother was in the hospital for a week (really bad story) anyways I wanted her to come home and not areas about cleaning and what not. I found Mermaid through Yelp, saw their ratings and called. It was a Saturday and they were done for the day. She asked when I needed it by and I a said Sunday, they don't work Sundays. Yet, they still did me a huge favor by coming at 930am on their day off. They truly accomadated me. I truly appreciate that. I needed a local company for a move out cleaning at my home in Hesperia. It was a last minute decision to hire someone but we finally decided to go for it. I sent MerMaids cleaning a message, and Michelle's response was almost instant! They were available exactly on the day that we needed them (two days after our initial contact). I gave Michelle my information and confirmed the appointment. On the day of the cleaning, two young ladies arrived at my home on time and ready to work. They were very personable and respectful throughout the process. The immediately told me they would be there 4-5 hours which was fine because we had last minute packing to do. We had MerMaids clean our house today. Michelle was in constant contact and very responsive to messages. Cherry's team cleaned for us today. They did a great job. There were through, extremely pleasant and really easy to work with. Everything I asked was promptly completed. Prior to completion the ladies let me know when rooms were finished and asked for my approval before moving on. After completion the team lead did a final walk through of the entire house with me to make certain it was as I expected. I greeted the New Year by a weeks hospitalization. My indoor dogs and cats were cared for, but needless to say, the house was an animal mess.
