Finally, decent coffee has arrived at the airport. I hold a number of grievances of paying through the nose for a dingy cup of murky coffee when I fly. So thankfully, Merlo has answered my prayers and has established a small kiosk at the entrance of the Qantas Terminal - perfect for people grabbing a coffee before checking in, and for those forced into dropping off/picking up said flyers.
As can be expected from Merlo - the coffee is strong, smooth and packed with a healthy dose of caffeine. You can opt for take away or drink-in. There are a number of wooden tables and chairs scattered around the little kiosk so you can park your weary, travel-lagged bum and luggage and enjoy an early morning pick-me-up. Prices are comparable to those at other Merlo chains ($3.70 for most regular take-aways) and cupcakes and sandwiches are as well ($3.50 for a cupcake, $7.50 a sandwich).
During Christmas, the little kiosk is decorated with tinsel which is very cute and adds to the comforting feel of knowing you're about to see loved ones, and most importantly, indulge in a delicious coffee. read more
