Now this is no ordinary cafe, its a beautiful family owned brick house, which is also a cafe that is attached to their antique shop, selling various bric-a-brac vintage collectables from everything you're sitting on, to large garden sculptures & more. This gorgeous cafe only has a small selection of food, such as fresh toasties made on site daily except for their delicious cakes, & pastries which are sourced from a secret supplier. The atmosphere is super peaceful, located on a quiet street & is a perfect place for your next coffee catch up with friends. Speaking of coffee, these guys make a good cup. In the past they have used other brands but are currently using @bellissimoroast, from which they have created their very own blend that is smooth, dark, & not bitter. This went perfectly with our roast beef & cheese toastie & the amazing sticky date pudding which also had a hint of ginger. Yum!! If you find yourself on this side of town, The Brickhouse Cafe is worth a stop.

It's her local and it was the perfect excuse to see why people rave about this suburban wonder. The coffee was strong and easy to drink. I hadn't ordered any food but my friend insisted I try some of her avocado on pumpkin bread toasted. Whatever these guys are doing with their avocado - heck I don't care if they're singing to it before they serve it up - it's working. It was creamy, nutty and and a little garlicky. Just order it. There'll be no regrets. The bread does change daily, however. The staff are more like friends than waiters. My friend and I waxing lyrical with the barista about grammar and such. It helps that she's a regular and gets along with them like a house on fire. But still, that's just the kind of people they are. Friendly, jovial and a real community. If anything a visit here will warm the cockles of your heart as you meet some genuinely nice people.

Lauren does everything in this tiny little cafe in Hendra to improve her quality of life and those around her, including her customers. Food is yummy and everything is made from scratch is what is surely the smallest commercial kitchen on the planet. But more importantly, the feeling of belonging is beautiful. While it may also be home to their roastery, we can't blame them for wanting to share the space with locals and coffee hunters alike? Simply Duo? How about, simply delicious!…read more Have been to Simply Duo a couple of times, both for a weekend breakfast. They open at 7am so are great for when I wake up early and want a nice weekend feed. Prices are reasonable, and the breakfasts are nice and simple. Eggs, bacon, avocado, mushrooms and a slice of toast made up my most recent breakfast. All fresh and well cooked. The mushrooms are great, though I wouldn't be surprised if they're just fried up in some butter. I got this for about $15, probably a bit under. The rest of the menu sits around that price and offers what you would find on most Australian breakfast restaurant menu's. They use their mushrooms and avocado quite eagerly on the menu - which is great for those of us who appreciate it. What they don't have is hash browns, which though my partner and I love them, actually makes our breakfast choice a lot easier. And most likely healthier. Simply Duo seems to be run by a family, though I can't be sure. Whoever you get served by is generally cheerful and friendly. A good local business. The coffee's are nice and go down well with breakfast. The actual shop is long and narrow, and seats around 30 people. There is some outdoor seating just out the front as well. It's warm and inviting, not over decorated, but has a homely feel to it. What I haven't been to yet, and am itching to get to is dinner at Simply Duo. From Wednesdays to Saturdays they open up as a Vietnamese restaurant! The menu isn't huge, but offers a wide variety of dishes, and from all reviews I've heard good things. I think it's a great idea for them to be opening almost as two separate restaurants - at least my interest is piqued!

First impression: popular amongst the lyrca-clad cycle locals. This is generally a good sign. The interior of Hello Garry (I'm going to take a stab in the dark that the tall, slender man behind the counter was Garry) is fairly simple and void of any great personality. There's the main counter and the standard menu written on a front-facing panel blackboard. You can choose from all the regular coffees (Genovese beans), avocado on toast and a few other simply prepared items. Be warned (we got caught out and had to duck back up the road to the service station to get out cash) that they don't have EFTPOS. Our iced coffees and chocolate were quickly delivered to our outside table and the wait staff were so friendly. It definitely has a family-owned and run feel to it. I liked it. There was a steady flow of people throughout the morning and not once were we made feel like we'd sat outside longer than welcome. I did notice most of the customers coming in were grabbing take-aways and if they were sitting in it was only for coffees or drinks. While I don't think I'd travel out of my way to especially visit Hello Garry frequently, it would be somewhere I'd go on a regular basis if I was more local or in the area.
