While searching for a wedding photographer, both my wife and I were introduced to the notion of hiring Pete through another newly engaged couple at a "takeover" event @ Artifact Coffee. After a night of good food and talking wedding shenanigans, we scheduled a face to face with Pete. We met Pete at his office / home. You can tell right away that this guy is completely immersed in his profession by his collection of cameras, lenses and awesome setup for integrating his profession with modern day technology. After sitting down with him, he asked us where we were going to hold our wedding. Once we told him we were holding it in a small vintage town in Lambertville, NJ. He immediately pulled up on his TV, from an iPad via Apple TV, a couple of wedding's he shot that were similar to our wedding. Immediately we were impressed. What was more impressive was that we thought each wedding he shot was UNIQUE. Now the only part that was left was the $$$$. Warning: Pete is not at all a cheap photographer. He may even be expensive to some people, but I feel that the job he does justifies the cost. For those wondering, he does negotiate on cost if items needed to be added or replaced. *Fast Forward to Wedding* The wedding shots came out perfect, so perfect that we even bought two parent brag books (two copies of our album in a smaller size) for each of our parents due to how shots were so spot on. The only shots that didn't come out as well were the shots where our DJ went above and beyond his responsibilities and gave us free upgrades (yay! you cant beat free) to up lighting and laser lights. Now what laser lights does is kills your photos by putting polka dots on everyone's faces. *Sad Face* What is even more amazing was the fact that Pete was able to edit the photos on the fly in lightroom/photoshop while we were there during one of our post wedding meetings. This says a lot as he is comfortable with the pressure of us being there as he performs his magic. Due to the nature that my wife's family lives in Hong Kong, we needed to look for a photographer for our second wedding. Now wedding photographers in HK are freaking expensive for what you get. Even if the photography is good, you have to pay their expensive base price along with the expensive add ons which are not made well, along with someone that does not speak English very well. So based off the price, we had a brilliant idea and asked Pete what it would cost him to shoot our wedding in HK. Lucky for us, we were able to negotiate the price competitively to what we would pay for a photographer in HK and accommodations. What we got out of it was quality photos on our wedding day along with day after shots at various places, because who travels half way across the world to just shoot for one day at one location.

This was the last vendor we added and we were super impressed with the results. Kevin went above and beyond just recording the wedding ceremony. He created a beautiful story of our day from our meaningful trailer to our heartfelt highlight video. As a bride, I did not notice him the entire day/night yet somehow he caught ALL of the best and most meaningful shots. I am forever grateful to have all these moments captured as so much was going on we didn't get to see/remember all of our wedding day. With all of his cameras and set up it felt like we had multiple videographers. Kevin's creativity was more than we expected and for that we will be forever thankful!

My only regret is not booking sooner, because the video he created is hands down my favorite memento from our wedding day. I am very type-A and a project manager by trade, so I can't help but micromanage anyone that comes across my path. Not only did Gene work beautifully with me, but he made the entire process SO easy. Planning a wedding can be so overwhelming, especially because I've never worked with wedding vendors before, and that made me a little nervous. Gene's process was so simple and I can't even give any constructive criticism, because everything was better than I could have imagined. I met with all of my vendors ahead of time, except for Gene -there was no need to. He took every detail I gave him into careful consideration and no request was too small or large. When I initially contracted with him I took quite a bit of time looking at all of his videos from other weddings and trying to pinpoint things I liked and things I didn't like to try and tell him what would be best, but everything was so well done that I knew we were in good hands! I was anxiously awaiting our wedding video after our wedding day, and he delivered it a week ahead of time and it was beautiful. I cried tears of joy the first time watching it, and then again when I watched it with my mother and then again with my grandmother. It's truly something we will remember forever. If you're on the fence about booking a videographer, get off the fence and book with Gene. Find a way to add this into your wedding budget, you will not be disappointed.

While the 18 months leading up to the wedding were marked by smooth communication and helpful guidance, the wedding day itself was marred by disorganization and a complete lack of coordination. The Breakdown: * Pre-Wedding: Love was attentive and helpful during the planning process, offering valuable insights and support. We met monthly in the beginning and twice a month as the wedding date got closer. Unfortunately, this positive experience did not translate to the actual wedding day. * Ceremony Disaster: Our ceremony started an hour late due to the late arrival of chairs. The vendor had their own internal issues but this was a direct result of Love failing to include setup in the contract, leaving the vendor understaffed. To make matters worse, guests received no guidance once doors were open, leading to confusion and a rushed entrance. The wedding party was also unable to sit. I instructed Love to reserve the first two rows for the wedding party so that they were seated during the ceremony rather than standing with the bride/groom. However that did not happen, which we had clearly communicated and rehearsed. Total confusion as they could not sit as rehearsed.  * Missing Items and Oversights: Throughout the day, we encountered a series of missing items and oversights: no lighter for the unity candle (had to ask someone from the audience for a lighter -- very embarrassing), no microphones for the ceremony (majority of the guests could not hear us), 15 missing uplights at the reception, chairs/place settings were missing from tables and guest were unable to sit, and even our bouquets were not readily available for photos. * Lack of Communication and Awareness: Love did not communicate with us that the chairs were late and ceremony time had shifted. I had to ask what was going on and why we had not begun, at this point we were 20 minutes past start time. Love demonstrated a concerning lack of awareness regarding the wedding day timeline. She started speeches during dinner service, creating a chaotic atmosphere with speeches competing with the clatter of dishes. * Poor Coordination and Execution: The reception "room flip" was handled poorly, with guests witnessing the transition instead of enjoying cocktail hour. Furthermore, meal cards were not placed at the bridal party table, causing confusion for the catering staff. The day was so chaotic that we forgot to do our welcome/thank you speech and Love did not even remind us.  * Unresponsive and Slow: Love was consistently difficult to locate the entire day and seemed to move at a slow pace, despite the numerous issues unfolding. She was missing the majority of the wedding but she did manage to get instagram content. A few of my guests were asking who/where is the planner. She was missing in action and when I initially voiced my concerns she was not apologetic at all.  * Lack of Leadership: Love was largely absent and unresponsive, and her team seemed completely unaware of the plans and timeline, despite prior discussions and rehearsals. In a post-wedding meeting, I expressed my dissatisfaction. To add insult to injury, Love offered a paltry $800 (only 10% of her total cost) refund in exchange for signing an NDA, preventing me from writing a review, which was a huge slap in the face. I politely declined as this is unacceptable considering the thousands of dollars spent on her services and the significant distress caused on what should have been a joyous occasion. While Love may excel at pre-wedding planning, her inability to execute on the actual day created a chaotic and disappointing experience. I urge other couples to seriously consider whether they are willing to risk a similar outcome despite the initial positive interactions. On one day that every woman dreams about, I was literally left in tears and filled with frustration. My dream wedding was literally robbed from me. While no wedding goes off unhitched with zero problems, no one should experience that many hiccups given the money and time that was spent. Also be aware as her instagram does not depict my disastrous wedding day. Granite the day was still beautiful and the pictures she has posted are gorgeous, thanks to our amazing photographer. But it should have been 100x better with the amount of money we put into it ($60K plus) and over a year of planning. The wedding dress: I got my Martina Liana dress from K&B Bridals and was comfortable every step of the way. This was honestly the thing I was dreading most. I suppose most brides are excited at trying on multiple dresses in front of their friends and family. This is not me. I initially felt very self-conscious about parading around in a fancy dress. Kate was AMAZING and really helped me through this. She listened to my preferences and got a feel for my tastes and was never pushy and always honest. 2. Photographers - Alysia and Jayson were beyond amazing. I could go on and on about them but will save this for another review. They made us feel extremely comfortable and we genuinely had fun with them. The day of the wedding, it was also unbelievably valuable to have their calm presence amidst all the chaos. 3. Faye Daniels Designs - I LOVED the custom jewelry pieces made by Randie and her team! What was very nice was having them available down the hall when I was picking out the dress. Randie came right over and we came up with the perfect rose gold hair piece with pearls and hand-made gold plated leaves to go with the dress. It came out beautiful! I also ended up getting earrings for the moms which were perfect wedding gifts. 4. Travelworks International - With all of the planning that already goes into weddings, I was SO thankful to have Kelly take one more thing off my plate and I could not be happier to leave this part up to her as the professional. I had a misconception that travel agents were also more expensive but this could not be further from the truth! We booked a very reasonable trip to Maui, she worked with us and our budget seamlessly, and it was unforgettable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
