Dr. Nannapaneni is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and personable. My treatment was painless and smooth. I felt confident in her expertise from the moment she entered the room. She explained the steps she would take during the procedure and asked if I had any questions or concerns before we began. I had an outstanding experience overall at Merit Dental, located in Southern Pennsylvania, where she works. The office was exceptionally clean and well-organized. The staff was warm and professional from the moment I arrived. There were no surprises regarding procedures or pricing, and they took the time to address all of my questions without rushing. The dental hygienist explained everything clearly and was very gentle while assisting Dr. Nannapaneni. I typically dread visits to the dentist, but this one was truly pain-free and even pleasant. I went for an oral eval and was advised that an extraction was necessary when in actuality the tooth could be saved, according to a second opinion. The cost for the evaluation and x-ray was incorrectly processed by Merit, so they sent me the bill. I had to sit on a conference call with my insurance company and Merit to discover Merit electronically billed the visit without record of the payer ID, so my insurance company had no record of a claim. When I called Merit about the bill before my insurance company became involved, I was either sent to voicemail, with a promise to call me back that never happened or I spoke with an office employee that was short and rude. In fact, the office employee was rude to the insurance representative on the conference call. The office admin staff have a lot to be desired. They truly lived up to their 1 star rating! read more

One of the worst experiences in my lifetime. As I told the office manager I wouldn't send a hermit crab to this office and I stand by that. My husband needed a crown they did the impression on a Friday 10/31. The following week my husband was in such pain I called the office and left a message as they were close on Friday 11/07. Monday rolls around and not a single call from the office. I called them telling them he is in a lot of pain and they squeezed him in that day. He was told that the temporary was thin and that a small portion of his root was exposed. They did offer to get another appoint to replace the temporary, however he opted to wait for the crown thinking it would be done in a few days anyhow. Almost a MONTH (11/20) from the date he got the impression I call the office wondering where the heck this crown is. The main office staff placed me on hold when I asked and then lied to me and said she had "just" got a call from the lab and the mold broke and my husband would need to come in to repeat his impression. This didn't sit well and felt like a lie. I requested that he get a referral to an Endo as I think he needed a root canal. I also had to scower the internet to attempt to find a customer service number to make a complain. Not easily found but I did find one. I then receive a call from the charm school dropout manager who should understand that humility and awareness when you made a mistake is HUGE in trust with your patients. The manager told me that because my husband was in such pain they didn't' send the mold. Which is an outright lie. I proceeded to ask her what the standard was when they get a mold and when they send them out. She told me they do send outs on Thursday. They didn't know my husband was in pain til MONDAY 11/10, which means 11/06 the mold should have been sent out per their standard. She was very eager to talk over me and not once apologize for this. At one point she stated, " I am going to put in his chart that you are refusing to get him out of pain" For an office manager I think ya'll can do better. If you read the below reviews, she isn't great at her job and doesn't really "people well". I think it is hilarious that they send me a bill for a crown $725.00 that was NEVER made nor that tooth restored. I would think that would be fraudulent billing as the insurance stated to me that they cannot bill until the restoration is complete. How can this be complete when it was never sent/ or the other lie the mold broke? Ironically, they also have an issue with canceling appoints-we were once told that a hygienist had a family emergency (which I can absolutely be understanding of) however the front office told me at my next appt that it was because the hygienists car got repo'd. Where to start... my husband I have had our appointments canceled by the office for lack of dental hygienist a few times now. They called to let us know with a days notice. I haven't been to the dentist in over a year because of this. Disorganized office and inconvenience with scheduling. I half don't want to reschedule with them bc I feel like it will be canceled again. What are the odds of so many canceled appointments between my husband and I? I find it interesting that only the negative reviews are shown when you bring up the business on Yelp and the "not currently recommended" reviews (which are positive) are not shown. I had a cracked tooth and they took care of me the day I called, and I had only been there a week prior for an initial evaluation. I cancelled a routine checkup a few days before my routine checkup and they put me on the waiting list. It has been over a year since my last checkup so they had to do a deep cleaning but Sandy did a great job (no pain) and the bill was reasonable. So far everyone has been professional and personable. Ignore the negatives and check them out. No, I am not an employee or a friend or family member of anyone at this business. I moved here 18 months ago and took a shot because they are convenient. I have received excellent dental treatment from Dr. Tassia Masgalas at Merit Dental in Manchester, PA. If you read the two negative reviews I saw on this site, you can understand why the clinic refused treatment in those two cases. To the contrary, my experience has been extremely positive, and I would strongly recommend this dental practice to everyone. My prior out-of-network dentist recommended very expensive dental work, some of which turned out to be unnecessary. I switched to Merit Dental because it was in-network with my medical insurance, and I'm glad I did. They handled the dental work that was actually necessary, and my insurance covered most of it. My copay was fair. Dr. Masgalas did a great job. She was extremely personable, as was all the staff there. read more

I had scheduled a hygienist cleaning 6 months ago. Because of issues with my gums I have been getting my teeth cleaned at my periodontist ever 3 months and going to Merit for fillings,etc. They called me an hour before my scheduled appointment to tell me that since I had not had a cleaning there, and my dentist had retired I would have to be treated as a new patient. I can understand this but why did they call me now when they had 6 months to tell me. They even called me yesterday to remind me of the appointment. This is the most disorganized facility I have encountered. They always have lame excuses as to why they have issues. I will now need to find a new dentist. read more

I was refused service for a wisdom tooth based on 2 'no show' appointments - 1 of which they fabricated. I was told they prefer to have clients who keep appointments rather than those who call when there is a problem. I would be ok with that accept they did not stand by their own policy and told me they would call me back with an appointment time which they never did and when I called to find out why claimed I had set up an appointment and was a no show for that appointment. I got a letter explaining their decision which just echoed what they told me over the phone. I guess it is more convenient for them. I was referred to another dentist who also did not handle the type of problem I had which led me to another dentist and later an oral surgeon all the while experiencing mouth pain for 3 weeks between trying to set up appointments. I don't recommend them based on the treatment I received for missing one appointment 5 years ago. read more

Staff is unprofessional and unequipped to deal with children. Dentist is impatient and one of the nurses was obnoxious and loud. They did not put an anesthetic on my child's tooth prior to filling a cavity. The dentist walked out mid-procedure, after she experienced a panic attack, and threw me a referral to a pediatric dentist. read more
