Meridian Speedway - Meridian speedway family friendly sign - Race Tracks Near Me - Meridian, Idaho

What a fun and thrilling experience. This was my first time here and I had so much fun watching the races. I enjoyed the indoor bar and loves the different seating options. I felt very safe with law-enforcement there and look forward to attending more events. read more

When it comes to family-friendly locations, there's just something special about the Meridian Speedway. The excitement of the races, kids having fun in the bleachers, the cheap food (and sometimes free 16 oz beers for adults), and having the opportunity to meet the racers after the event....it's just good, clean fun. We arrived at 6:30, which was 15 minutes before the event began, and there was plenty of free parking, no line to get past security, and plenty of bleacher seating. Guests of all ages were having fun and I think it's awesome that there were even some designated areas where there's no drinking and smoking allowed in the family bleacher section. All staff members were incredibly nice, the announcers kept the jokes, trivia and giveaways going throughout the event, and the races themselves were exciting. We attended a race Halloween weekend, so they had the racers run over pumpkins, side over water, and even go backwards at one point. There were a few crashes which the kids loved (everyone was safe), and it was a great mix of both teenage girls, boys and adults racing so the little girls had some awesome female racers to look up to. Overall, the price is hard to beat and there's hours of fun to be had. If you're looking to enjoy a night out on the town, this place is worth a visit! read more

What a show... rock on... trophy dashes down... heats and mains to come... rock on!!!

What a unexpected fun evening. We went to the Smash o Rama event with our friends and teenage boys. We all had a blast and lots of laughs. Ticket prices are so reasonable. Hot dogs were inexpensive and good. The only negative is that it was crowded because it was a sold out event. Even with the crowded event we will definitely be back. read more

Meridian speedway. It's actually kind of fun! We try to go to a few races every year. We get a kick out of the high school kids that race. And it's even more fun watching the parents of the high school kids. Tonight's races were dominated by the girl drivers which we all thought was pretty cool. They have some silly heat races that the kids really seem to enjoy. And can't lie I think they are pretty entertaining as well. All and all its a good time to be had by everyone. I will say it's a little redneck to drink beer out of a Tupperware pail...... But what the heck. :) read more

Beer, hotdogs, lots of excited fans, and loud race cars! Yeaaah! We had a great time. Buying a ticket to get in was quick. They were very polite and professional. This prevented any sort of line from forming. The parking could have been better. Their doesn't seem to be any specifically designated for the Speedway. Folks were parking in the local business parking lots. Fortunately I had a tip to park at the Meridian bowling alley. I did learn that next time I should bring hearing protection like ear plugs! read more

Early on a warm Saturday afternoon I traveled with a dear friend and her sons out to Meridian Speedway. Her eldest son was slated to take to the track for his first race that evening, and I wanted to be part of the cheering section. Because the young man had to be out there early to report to the pits and get ready for some warm ups, I found myself walking into the venue almost by myself- and I'm glad for it. From the road you don't see much at all. The backs of the grandstands and the gates.. but inside.. oh inside.. it's beautiful! The emerald green infield surrounded by the banked oval track, the bright signage of sponsors on the walls. The skies were blue when I visited, and seeing the flags ripple in the sky I could FEEL the vibe of races past, and the excitement of the events to come. My friend Nancy and me started by reserving some seating (blankets on the benches) for friends and family. We were on the west end, near the handicapped seating platform- right next to the restrooms and not far from concessions. This was military appreciation night, and I was so proud of the way the folks at Meridian Speedway honored our military. The color guard, a parade of military vehicles and an amazing rendition of the Star Spangled banner by two active servicemen on electric guitar. The restroom facilities were clean, what items I enjoyed from the concession area were tasty. Meridian speedway is famous (or so I'm told) for their fried pickle spears. I didn't try them but my friend did, and found them a bit disappointing. I didn't particularly appreciate all the people smoking by the restrooms, but what do you do? I will tell you, if you go.. dress for the weather. I neglected to use enough sunscreen and got a bit crispy.. and when the sun dips below the horizon it goes from hot to BRRR in about 2 seconds flat. But when the lights are on on the track, and you feel the thrill of all that horsepower going around that track. it's easy to forget about such things as sunscreen! I'm not a big racing fan, but I do enjoy the excitement- as well as the chance to support the guys at Hull Motorsports! 00 Larry (Bo), 13 Jonathan and 14 William.. you guys rock! read more

If you're lucky it's a night when they give rides around the track.. lots of fun big huge line so be prepared. I think it's $11/adult and under 6 is free, can't beat the price to fun ratio here guys! read more

Joshua, I think the Meridian Speedway is a magnet for San Diegans. I, a native Dagoian, was invite to an afternoon at the Speedway by my good friend Andy. By "speedway" the Meridianese mean "1/4 mile high school track." Custom builts race at a neck-breaking 70 miles per hour. OK, now to the good part. They have BEER in a PLASTIC BUCKET with a HOLE cut out of the LID In the heart of Uh-murrica/God's Country--where, in 2007, they still sell freedom fries at the concession stand-- the singer dude forgot the words to the National Anthem. I won a shirt with WWRBD (What would Ricky Bobby Do) and "Shake n Bake" printed on the back. This one lady had three faces tattooed on her thigh. The End *passout* read more

We went to the firecracker event on the 4th of July. Good ticket price! The only thing I would say is, if you as a company don't like how people park then have someone direct the guests (no it wasn't us). Also can you find people who are a little less mop head personality to run your concession. One last thing, I realize that your company wants to make money, so no outside food or drinks, but water? Come on now!!!! It was 100 degrees! We will be back. read more

Such a horrible experience. Tried taking my family to the "eve of distraction". We purchased our tickets online and the email clearly says to present the barcode and the email to be scanned at the gate on your mobile device for entrance. We got to the gate after a 40 minute drive there and a 15 minute walk to the gate followed by 15 minute wait in line. We were told to go home and print them off because they dont have a scanner. Security was very rude and horrible. Lots of in happy customers. Shame on meridian speed way for ruining our evening and stealing our money! read more

Great Family entertainment. Going to give the coffee crew an A for effort and an A++ for friendliness.

First off, I would like to apologize to all 15 of my Yelp friends for my extreme level of inactivity as of late..... no excuses here, but I do have a lot to write about since my last post. So I will start with this place..... Meridian Speedway ----- conveniently located in Meridian, Idaho. Now, you are probably asking yourself, "What the fuck were you doing in Meridian, Idaho, you idiot??" I know. I know. A foolish place to be, especially for a liberal from San Diego. Long story short... my sister and her husband moved there for various reasons, so I went to visit. I went there in May, but it has taken a lot of emotional breakthroughs for me to accept the fact that I now have family ties in a place known as Idaho. I think their license plates say "Great Potatoes" or some shit like that. "Oh really, you guys have killer potatoes....???" Snore. Now, your second question is probably something along the lines of, "Why the fuck did you go to a goddamm 'speedway' in goddamm Meridian in goddamm Idaho????" Well, the speedway was hosting MMA cage fighting and the cover was only $10, and hey, I was in Idaho... it was either that or attempt to drink an 18 pack of Natural Ice with the rest of the locals and argue with each other over who had the coolest Iron Cross or Skull and Crossbones tattoo. So the night moved on at the speedway, and the country music was a wailin' and the fighters were a fightin' and the crowd was a hootin'. The third fight was about to start, and a local favorite was walking down the aisle to his corner and he was wearing a cowboy hat and a shirt that said "I HATE HIPPIES" on it. The crowd LOVED this. "Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh, I fuckin' hate hippies toooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" These were the sentiments of the members in the crowd behind me, to the side of me, and in front of me. Now, I am not a huge fan of hippies or anything, but needless to say, I was a bit uncomfortable. So I decided to go grab myself a beer to ease the tension that was building up in the crowd. At the snack bar you can feel free to treat yourself to a bucket of beer (on tap, basically a pitcher's worth) along with a side of Freedom Fries. And if you are really feeling up to it, get yourself some Chili Freedom Fries, or even some Nacho Cheese Freedom Fries. "What the fuck?" I ask myself. "People still sell those things???" Well, apparently Freedom Fries are here to stay at the Speedway. So go ahead and get em' while they're hot. Meridian Speedway gets an instant star for allowing onlookers to witness full contact carnage for only $10. This place truly appreciates violence. And another star for proudly promoting irresponsible amounts of drinking for only $6 (the plastic bucket of beer). Oh and beware, knives are not allowed inside, but American made hand guns are supported and welcomed. Only American made though. read more

Well I don't even know where to start. I got a pair of tickets free from my neighbor. Thanks Larry. I'm not a race fan but the redneck watching was endless. This speedway needs it's own "People of Meridian Speedway" website. It truly was a show. These people think they are the next Dale Jr. The main race only had 3 cars. The wing something cars. It was boring. The food was ok but what the hell do you expect in Meridian ID. read more

I have always wanted to drive a racecar and this past weekend, my dream came true!! For our anniversary, my husband got me a Rusty Wallace Racing Experience package for the Meridian Speedway and it was awesome!! The instruction was very clear and was easy to follow and the thrill of actually getting into the firesuit, putting on the helmet, and sliding inside the car was awesome!! Everyone was very nice and made me feel at home. The only reason that I didn't rate my experience as a 5 was because there was someone on the track with me who didn't listen to instruction very well so I felt like a good part of my time on the track was getting out of his way and not focusing on the car and how fast I could take it! read more
