I placed my sister there, while on vacation, as prior to our vacation she broke her arm and she is mentally not able to stay alone period. She was treated very well, and we had people stop by to see her as this was of course a temporary solution. Respite for myself and care for her. Unfortunately, nursing home get a bad rap, and they get the bottom of the barrel coins to keep their facilty running. The people who are hired are not always the best, but some make up for those that don't have that compassion. My problems was the room, as they seemed rather dark and dismal. My sister of course had to room with another person. She is on SSI, and unless you can fork out the bigger bucks to place them in a more nicer place, we get these less then nice locations. But aside from that, we were pleased and she did well. I put 4 star for the building and rooms. We didn't have any problems. Again this was for respite care. read more

Do not trust management. From the Don to the HR are horrible. I went in for an interview got an award letter back in September 2025. Saw a female cna that work there the same day, that worked at their sister facility Monte vista she quit there and came here. She cursed me out over a parking spot i was in that she got for employeeof thr month. I had to make a statement an turn her in, i was working agency. So I asked the Don what Her name was bc i remembered her face from the last facility. And from there everything went south. I believe I am being blacked balled. I left the first interview with my award letter. The following monday I had to go in for my 2nd interview I was told they couldn't find my nursing license, it was bc it was a compact license. She said she would reach out after she confirmed my license. OK so the following day I get a call from HR that the position has been filled, just that quick! Lies! That they will contact me when something became available. Mind you today I get an email from HR to come fill in an application bc they had double weekend available. I went in and ask to speak to the DON first name starts with "A" i wont mention names bc they might try to sue for mentioned name. Im sitting waiting she walks up front realized who I was looked me dead in my face and acknowledged a worked that was already on shift sitting in the waiting area and said to her, you looking for me? They joke an cackled and the worker made a joke saying yea im looking for yoy to jump you! Wow! How distasteful! Knowing that I was the one looking for her. She "A" came back up front a few moments later saying you were looking for me? I asked her about the previous application and interview as well as the award letter. "A" the Don claimed that the award letter states they can decline at any time, I said thats fine I understand but the HR emailed me today stating there was a position open for double weekends, she acted as if the HR was wrong she didn't know what she was talking about. They dont have anything available. An she would have a word with HR! I said you guys are wasting my time are you serious? They are dead wrong. They dont give a shit, they rather hire the wretched people who keep up mess just like management. Im glad I dodged a bullet. But you lost a great nurse with that foolishness. Meridian Care - An offer for a job - Physical Therapy Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

This place was horrible. There are only a good handful of staff that worked with my mom that I would ever recommend. They are poorly mismanaged, the care quality was horrible. My mom was constantly getting sick and not being taken care of. Constant rashes all over her body and they could never seem to figure out what it was and basically just kept testing different things on her. They didn't take care of her teeth. A lot of the nursing staff was so rude and could tell they didn't want to do their jobs. My dad would pay some of them just to do their job THAT THEY ALREADY GET PAID FOR. And they still did a piss poor job. Make sure you're there to watch them do actual therapy because they won't actually do it and just charge you or the insurance. My mom's trach was always dirty. She had constant UTI's which ended up turning into sepsis and she passed away. Always some sort of crap from this facility. For the love of God find somewhere else to take your loved ones. Because this was not the place if your loved one isn't vocal and can't move. I'd never recommend this place to anyone. And to the awesome staff workers that were good I hope you guys find a better place to work at because you're too good for this "Facility" that's a joke. To all the crappy people working here yall should be ashamed to claim to work for the medical field because you're a sad excuse. Find a new occupation being the medical field wasn't the right choice. NOT TO MENTION THEY OPERATED WITHOUT A DIRECTOR FOR AWHILE. So there's that. The charge nurses there are rude as hell and don't even do a good job. At all. You're too good to work there but I'm happy my mom had y'all to help while she was there dealing with the other crappy workers there. When my Mom died I couldn't even go get the balloon or Mother's Day card I bought her 2 days prior because they POPPED IT AND THREW IT AWAY ALONG WITH THE MOTHER'S DAY CARD. Utter trash. Go somewhere else if you want your loved one to have a fighting chance. As my mom went from recovering slowly to passing away in 2 months out of nowhere because they can't even change out a foley. Please rethink this business. The medical care is more than sufficient, but the billing is highly suspicious. My father passed away under the observation of Meridian Care and there were no complaints medically. But a review of the billing showed extremely vague discriptions and excessive charges. For several months we argued to institute an end of life direction (at the instruction of my father), finally requiring a doc's intervention to initiate. They were resistant to allow them to continue billing, both my father and his insurance. Final billing showed a personal charge to my father in excess of $20K in the last 90 days of his life. My Grandmother was at Meridian Care after being put on a ventilator. First for rehab then as a resident. She was treated like family there. Aside from their jobs - The staff would pop in often to check on her, to ask if we needed anything and just to say HI. Everyone was so warm and friendly - we all felt at home there. When she was sent to the hospitals we were always anxious to have her return because she received much better care/attention there! The activities were fun, I liked that they had Sunday worship and that everyone can attend events/activities. Even on a ventilator my Grandma would be taken to participate! Patients aren't just left in their beds day in and day out. What impressed me as well was Management knew the patients BY NAME. EVERYONE was approachable and easy going. My Grandmother passed away at Meridian and even now we (the family) miss the people there. Price wise - while my Grandma was at the hospital there was approximately a $250 a day charge to reserve her room, which was a single room. We didn't see a problem with it given the attention my Grandma was given and how she was treated there. Yes more staff is needed on weekends but the ones who are there are hard at work getting to everyone and took their time doing things right rather than rushed. No place is perfect but for us and for my Grandmother Meridian brought happiness and comfort during a very difficult time for her and peace of mind for us. I would recommend Meridian. Our experience was far beyond what we expected from a "nursing home" and in fact we didn't see it as that - we saw it as a home away from home. read more

This "Facility'" Promised alot of care & understanding, & that they preformed 'miracles' in 2013 when my father was there..therapy was scheduled everyday, but was not preformed, always a different excuse, mostly not enuf workers. while Dad was there for 4 months, he was taken for therapy only SEVEN times.. TWICE his oxygen tube was disconnected bc the wheels of his bed had rolled onto it. the day b4 he passed, the oxygen hose disconnected from the machine, and even tho he kept saying he couldnt breathe, they didnt listen and didnt even try to find the cause until the second time he complained. at that time, there were alot of flies in his room, my mother brought theyre attention to it, but it did not good. She purchased a fly swatter to try and kill them to get them under control since they couldnt be bothered. A sick young man was brought to his rm in the other bed, he got sick & since he couldnt talk, & in a vegetative state, my mother took it upon herself to advise the staff he was sick. They disreguarded it. the following wk my dad got sick & couldnt eat & lost alot of weight. they then placed a feeding tube in the hospital. while there, the young man that shared dads room had an open wound that the flies had entered and laid eggs, maggots! FINALLY they sent him to the er to be cleaned. My dad passed away there, at nite. ALONE. there are no NO staff there at nite, theyd rather be smoking cigarettes. the laudry smelled of feces, my mom would bring her own sheets for dad, then take them hm to rewash them herself. I would say all the reviews are correct...the good and the bad. the people there are very nice and welcoming. Most of the CNAs are hard workers and extremely caring. You never see the doctors and its difficult to get in touch with them. The family plan meetings are a joke maybe you'll get 1 or 2 support staff to show up if you get a meeting. Like with most things in life if you don't push for it you wont get it. The only thing wrong with that is your screwed if you don't know your rights because they won't tell you. We learned the hard way. he people are loving but I agree the billing department is shady. Bills are vague and your given a lump sum bill without any warning which for us was over 10,000.00. I don't know about you but were not rich people. Thank God when we found out I was able to take my mom home that same night because the bill was increasing by the minute. They new the bill was increasing daily but did not inform us although we had 2 family plan meetings while this bil was increasing monumentally . I have called different places for help but they told us basically we should have know. Again know your rights!! And speak up ! because these places will cheat you if your not careful. Don't let the smile foul you:) Oh, schedule and demand a family plan meeting for your loved one periodically with all support personnel present or a representative from that department present.
