Unfortunately this is my last year at Berkeley College but I won't ever forget the wonderful moments that I spent here, the people I met, and the amazing things we did together as a family Thank You Berkeley College for giving me the opportunity to be the best that I can be. However improving the academics and staff and faculty at the White Plains campus would be excellent. Incorporating a cafeteria that on campus residents and commuters could use would be a great benefit. Finally expanding existing campuses like the White Plains, NY campus can no doubt bring more students in and create more classes and programs.

There are so many great things to talk about I don't even know where to begin! Affordability: This school is by far the most affordable option out there and you really are getting the bang for your buck they have soooo many programs to choose from. A lot you can't even get anywhere else around Connecticut like restaurant managment for example! They also have a great nursing program that will cost you wayy less to get in than any other school while getting just as good knowledge :) Staff: i have been here since 2013 and probably 98 percent of the teachers have been fantastic. The best part too is that they have numerous teachers for each subject like math or english 101 so if you dont think one is working out for you, you have a lot more option. Credits: All the credits you take here our state schools will except so if you plan to transfer to southern, westconn, eastern, or central after this your covered! Im looking to transfer next semester and my advisors are telling me since I have so many great credits already finished at Ncc it will only take me around another year instead of 2 years to finish :) Campus life: Even though people dont think you really get a college experience at a community college it is really what you make of it honestly you can. We have great clubs like anime club, art club, business club, even things for community service. We also have a great cafeteria with honestly pretty decent food. The school itself is always spotless and beautiful. I have made tons of life long friends here and the great part about community college is most of them live in your area so you can still hang out during things like winter break because they are not going to fly half way across the world. Misconceptions: A lot of students don't want to go to community college because they thing they will be surrounded by older People who they cant relate to or people who did really bad in high school. That is really not true, sure you are going to get a diverse group of people like anywhere else. I can tell you most people here are really motivated and friendly.

I was invited and joined the honor society Phi Theta Kappa. I was heavily involved and promoted to an officer in the society for my dedication. I graduated with full honors. As a result, I was able to secure public and private scholarships. And the school's foundation because of my involvement in the honor society. student government, and stellar recommendations from my Professors awarded me additional funds out of the school's foundation. I finished my degree in software engineering at UConn Storrs basically for free and debt free. I heavily recommend trying this institution.

The business department is terrible. They rant and rave about it, but you'll soon realize 90% of the classes you take are nonsensical intro classes where you learn nothing. Do not expect to go to Iona for business and learn anything useful for a career. Now, most expensive private Colleges have premium dormitories. They have 1 building built during this century that they like to show off. The vast majority of their housing is decades old, falling apart, dirty, dingy, and dusty. It's horrendously overpriced. Far more expensive than an apartment and you lose all your rights living on campus subjected to unlawful raids/inspections. The food on campus sucks. They force you to buy a campus meal plan and for what you pay it should be far better. There's a reason they force you to buy the meal plan and it's not "to foster an on-campus community." It's a money grab plain and simple. The campus itself is tiny with very little to offer. The surrounding neighborhood is full of crime with a history of murders at the local high school right next to campus. All in all--tuition should be $10,000/year and dorms $5,000. You're splitting a tiny room 5-10 ways no apartment costs that much...it's a scam! You are paying for a bloated administration that takes exorbitant salaries and accomplishes very little. You're not paying for a high-quality private education. All you get is a piece of paper and 4 years living in a tin can. Don't waste your time or your money.

I came to this location to get a deep conditioning treatment followed by a wash & set... I have…read morevery long and thick hair so I figured it would be good practice for the students as I've been to school salons before... I had visited the week before to get the info and prices... I returned the following week as I was told I'd need about 2-2.5 hours there... There was a heavy set man who assisted me and inquired about the pricing from an older brunette lady who told him the price... I actually was given a higher price than what I pay in my nor al salon for a wash & set which was surprising for a beauty school ($60) I entered and first impression is hiw old and deteriorated it looked... I almost wanted to walk out as the seats were in horrible condition and everything was either broken, falling apart or just looked so old as of it should be thrown out... this place needs a huge face-lift especially with the tuition that they are charging for such shambles... The students were just sitting around and talking... I was directed towards a very sweet woman but she barely spoke English so she didn't understand me... She proceeded to do my shampoo and she was great and then they used a basic salon conditioner as a "deep condition" as it smelled like cherries which is a dead giveaway and I had been informed that the conditioner was of a higher quality but it was not... she then placed me under the dryer for 15 mins and then removed the leave in and took me to her work area to do my rollers... she was about to put the rollers in without putting anything at all in my hair until I asked her about it and she went and got someone bc she didn't understand me... finally after her struggling to put one roller, another student came and helped her... she seemed to know what she was doing but the rollers were not tight and they were spritzing the hair with lottabody setting spray but the hair wasn't soaked which it needs to be when applying rollers... finally she finishes and puts the net and they try to fit me under a dryer that fits the rollers... 1.5 hours later ... im told they're done ans they take them out... the hair is not set at all and looks crazy when all the rollers are taken out... I tell them that I'm not at all happy about this and I finally settle for a blow dry by the one student who did my rollers... she seemed to know how to do a blow dry but then there was another student working on the other side of my head who was only blowing out mid shaft to the tips and never at the root so all of my hair was lumpy on the while right side when they tried to say okay you're done... not until I was like ummm, my whole right side of my head is all lumps and kinks so the girl blew it out... 4 HOURS LATER and there was not one teacher or professional helping these girls out or knew what to do... the older lady just kept saying well shee doesn't want to stay or there is nothing we can do about it... mot an apology, nothing... just a shoulder shrug, like oh well... Wow! Horrible experience and location... these girls are getting robbed because that's not a school where they're not leaning anything... The older folks need to have a better bedside manner to thise coming and spending their money here l, especially of you're charging $60 for no one knowing what they're doing. Do better by your students...
