I attended this school for 2 years and have to say, there is a reason I moved back home. Freshman dorms are OK, but after that you are screwed, there isn't enough housing so they just converted a bunch of singles into doubles, yeah, not fun. My sophomore year I was in a room with bad heat and no insulation in a place where the snow got so bad they had to shut the college down for a few days! When my roommates boyfriend sent me emails telling me to kill myself, I reported it to my RA who told me to try and suck it up as she was leaving for Study abroad next semester. When I was rush to the hospital with what turned out to be kidney stones, campus safety first told me it was just food poisoning because they had had 3 cases that week. Never mind that the head of the French department spoke French as a THIRD Language and the heads of the theater department had the lowest ratings on Rate my Professor. I am sad that this place is clearly a commuter college, disguised to look like a traditional school. read more

I transferred from Hofstra to attend M'ville and never looked back. My private, small, intimate environment allowed me to shine, to grow, and to seek the success that was awaiting me. Also, financial aid was extremely generous. I think of it fondly and still donate to show my gratitude. It may not have the cache of an Ithaca, a Cornell, or another hot east coast school, but Manhattanville was more than a college for me, and I can not say that about many institutions. HOLY COW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS. I had the pleasure to attend my boyfriend's sister's graduation from this fine institution. It felt like it was easy to fit in here. The students all seemed to love going here and were proud of their Alma Mater. If you have the spare funds to send a child here...it seemed like a wonderful place. On a charming side note Dr. Molly Smith (the president) had the most lovely voice I had ever heard (it reminded me of Mother Maggie from that Family Guy episode). read more

I went there for 2 summer sessions and found both professors to be EXTREMELY nice! The guys working at the post office on campus were EXTREMELY nice as well and totally saved my butt from embarrassment and maybe even trouble on that first day of class. They were understanding and VERY HELPFUL! They went out of their way to help me find a building I couldn't find and was late to class because I couldn't find it! I think the post office guy if I'm not mistaken told the other guy in the post office with him that he'd go and show me where the class was and he would be back. If not mistaken which I could be, but kind of think I'm about 95% sure his name was Jerry. He reminded me of my grandpa that's why I'm pretty sure the name stuck in my brain! He brought me to the building which was way in the middle of campus and if he wasn't with me when I walked in to class VERY late not only would I have been humiliated because it seemed that I was the only one who couldn't find the classroom, however I think I might have got in trouble for being so late to begin with!! He seemed to know the professor and everything was alright! I thanked him for helping me and he said no problem! IF YOU EVER NEED HELP AND IF THE POST OFFICE GUYS ARE NOT BUSY, I AM SURE THEY WOULDN'T MIND HELPING YOU AS WELL. All in all the rest of the summer sessions went well and I recommend this college!! read more

Personally, love this school. From, the professors to the close commute to the city, this college has everything I need. I have done my fair share of college shopping, and no college felt more open and welcoming. The communications program which I am majoring in has internships and major based classes that will help you acquire skills both on and off-campus. If I had a do-over for picking my college process, I would choose Manhattanville again and again. read more

My son transferred from a Suny School to Manhattanville after his sophomore year. I cant say enough good things about this school. Its truly a gem. The campus is beautiful, its in one of the most prestigious areas in the country. It has a very good sports program, d3. What is most impressive to me is the small class sizes and professors who will do all they can to help you succeed. Your safe here, you are with good people and of course they have White Plains NY to have fun at night. The bus will take you there and pick you up. They are pouring money into the school. My suggestion is to visit the school, especially if you are interested in playing sports there. You will be treated well and you will be set up to succeed. My only regret is not sending him here for all four years. read more
