Last Winter my elderly parents decided to move to retirement living, and send the contents of their home to be auctioned off. They had nice antique furniture, clocks from the 1880s, Madame Alexander dolls in the box, a large collection of Waterford glassware, unused quilts from the 1930s, lamps and so much more. They filled up a truck and came back the next day for the rest. They did not auction off everything at once, and about 95 percent have not been accounted for. They put some things supposedly on consignment. Their dining room furniture was sold piece by piece at different times. The china cabinet went for$30.00, the table and six chairs went for $40.00. They have no idea what happened to the buffet. A nice sideboard that they paid $3000.00 went for $40.00. They supposedly put some of their things on consignment. Where, they have no idea. A dozen antique quilts went for $60.00, along with carpets, cedar chests, desks, a new sewing machine still in the box and etc. Since last Winter, they have received checks adding up to no more than $300.00. Last month, they received a check for $3.75 for some unnamed item sold on consignment. It seems to us that their things have been stolen! Being a family business, they seemed very personable but we feel that their business practices are dishonest and have decided to report them to the Attorney Generals Office. read more

To say my blood was boiling is an understatement. I inquired about a dresser this morning and was told it was available. My husband and I drove 45 minutes to pick it up and about 10 minutes away I noticed it was marked as sold. I reached back out to make sure we hadn't driven all that way for nothing. The message wasn't responded to UNTIL WE WALKED INTO THE BUILDING. Had I known that it was an auction house that I was going to, I would have known to ask about payment but that information was nowhere in the listing nor the messages. The woman at the desk said it was sold and that she had no idea who had sent what messages. That's false because my name is attached to my fb message...which is also on my ID. I will never get that hour and a half back and am extremely disappointed with the way this interaction went and how delayed the response time was. Will never inquire about anything from this place again. read more

The auction I attended on 5/27/2021 has permanently deferred me from any future bidding or buying from Mercury Auctions. I have been a customer of theirs when it was called Garrisons and had no problems or concerns until it changed ownership to Mercury. I have always been prepared for the items being quite dirty and nasty, but what I thought was a good deed I was doing to bid on and buy the remaining 7 boxes on a pallet of their mystery boxes, when they stated the proceeds are donated to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, was a stunning shock to me when I did open them. They actually filled them with TRASH, filthy cloth items and nasty-useless junk. I filled up our dumpster with the crap I purchased. I am thoroughly disgusted with Mercury Auctions. So many clean auctions in the U.S. that it does not make sense to bid, buy and tote home nasty junk and trash from any auctions. read more

I am amazed at the lack of professionalism and inconsideration. You are set up across the street from my house today, June 24th in Chehalis. There was no information about what was going on until after you started. We were not invited or notified. You put your sign in my yard without even knocking on my door or asking for any permission. There has been no street parking for not only today but also the last few days. You literally have a microphone and I can here every word from my backyard. Had I known about this event prior not only would we attended and likely bought and bid on items but we would have invited friends too. You should have spent a half hour handing out flyers, inviting surrounding neighbors and warning them of the heavy traffic, parking issues, the loud microphone and how long the event is going. Completely rude. read more

Garrison Auctioneers are dishonest and do not provide the service they promise when consigning with them. Don't even think about using them unless you want to get ignored, lied to, and just give away your items. After months of waiting we have not received a penny. Contracts mean nothing to them. I am filing a complaint with the Washington Auctioneers Association as soon as I am finished writing this review. They are that bad. read more

I provided Garrison Auctioneers with over 800 units of pristine new-w-tags and new w/o tags clothing. I provided pictures of each item and items were individually bagged with numbers that corresponded to written descriptions in a spreadsheet. These were totally eBay ready; descriptions included measurements. I had put a ton of work into selling these clothes and I hoped that GA could find an eBay seller interested in the lot. I suggested they sell the clothing in lots (they had never sold clothing before). Instead they sold it individually at a start price of - I'm told - $1. They delighted their customers. Meanwhile, they told me I actually owed them money for their labor. Fortunately I had amended our contract so that I would not owe money if they somehow managed to claim enough labor that I would have to pay them. I should have listened to my intuition. Mary Garrison sang praises for her business and their integrity. Meanwhile, what they didn't sell is stuffed into garbage bags and I have to drive over 200 miles to pick it up. I truly believe they did not make any effort to earn money; how you can sell 400+ units and wind up in the hole is beyond me. I believe I was overcharged for what little work they had to do, and that they manufactured excuses for charging me what they did. I do not believe they made a good faith effort to sell the clothing for the most money possible. It was a terrible, terribly frustrating experience. read more

This is the most dishonest auction or business I have ever dealt with. They took our entire whse. in Shelton. I found the inventory sheet my husband valued wholesale for $25,000. I moved with my son to New York because my husband passed away. She keep telling me she was waiting for the best price. Three months passed and nothing so I called and sent her an email. Then she started selling the floor covering marmoleum for $10.00 a 20 yd roll. It was all new. The Ardex floor prep 80 bags sold for $300 instead of $5200. Todd came to our warehouse and told us anything he questioned the value he would call my son. Mary fired him, he must have been to honest for her. The crew who came to move the items were totally dishonest their time since we were paying$60 an hour for the 2 of them. 45 minutes to fuel the truck and they didn't realize the code recorded their time . They had some idiot who knew all about flooring. He said all the speciality glue was frozen. We rented a heated unit. They threw it all out, another lie. Mary should be reported. Of course her charges were more than all the tools, flooring material, propane tanks, pressure tank for well, gates from our farm just to name a few. She dummied up the amount they paid for everything. This was all I had left from my husband. When you have to steal from a widow you are beyond low. When I really blew up all of a sudden they sold it to this kid who was mentally challenged . I am trying to find other people she did this to and maybe we could go together and sue her. Buyer beware! Participated in an online auction that coincided with a live auction. We won an item online and several others over the phone during the live auction, but when we went to pick our items up the next day at thier auction house they said we didn't win our online item even though they charged our credit card. They said a different bidder actually won it. Then 2 items we won on the phone were missing. After making a phone call the person said a different bidder also won those items, and she suggested a refund. After insisting that we won the items, they searched the auction house and our items just happened to be found! Un- organized and un-professional. read more
