Unassuming and freaking tasty. Risotto was off the Chain. Drinks were nicely made and cannolis were top 5. Ice cream filled and left you wanting more. One of best restaurants attached to a Hilton Garden Inn. Don't let its attachment to a hotel cause you to pass by - stop in. Just the wife and I, but I suppose the kids would have been welcomed. read more

The server and service was great but the food really disappointed me. We ordered carpaccio and it came out frozen solid... I almost got a brain freeze. We got the rigatoni and it was served in a broth and was flavorless. I was shocked seeing it come in a broth. Trying to pick up a noodle it would break into 3 pieces making it impossible to eat. Honestly disappointed the waiter we loved said it was not good. Would have left a one star if our server wasn't so good. read more

Mercato Mio - This is the terrible, nasty, flavorless rigatoni (falls off the fork ) - Italian Near Me - State College, Pennsylvania

If i had to describe this place in two words: unassumingly delicious. I am staying at the hotel it is located in and I am pleasantly blown away by this restaurant . AWESOME bartender/ incredible food. HIGHLY recommend the meatballs. I 'll probably be back tomorrow night too, there are so many things on the menu i'm dying to try! read more

Disappointing. We had a reservation. Service was not great. Only a hostess, one waitress, one bartender (home football weekend). Maybe 12 tables in the whole house but only 65% full. Took forever to order drinks. Had the flatbread and bread basket apps and we enjoyed them. Hostess had to clear our table. Entrees were under seasoned. I had the Gemelli dish (not the worst pasta I ever ate). Forgot to add, the waitress was the worst. Not a smile, not a care. I gave her, her 20% but she did NOT deserve it. read more

Below average hotel restaurant. There are aren't too many tables, so if you have a bigger group, good luck. The first night, we ordered drinks and sat in the other side of the lobby. Most people weren't happy with their drinks. Why have a specialty cocktail menu if you aren't going to make the specialty drinks? My friend ordered the blueberry mule and said it had no blueberry flavor in it at all lol. The prosecco drinks used cupcake prosecco- yuck. My specialty margarita was hardly drinkable and the salt was not margarita salt. Bartenders didn't make drinks in the order we ordered them. The next night I got a salad and an app and waited over 45 minutes for it when the restaurant was basically empty. Go somewhere else! This was the by far the worst part of this Hilton. read more

Decided to stay in the hotel and try this restaurant out in the lobby. It was very underwhelming and for their not being many guests service was very bad. We sat there hungry watching our food under the heat lamp for about 10 minutes. Luckily when it got to us it wasn't to cold. The brussel sprouts were underwhelming and. Ended seasoning. Also the Mac n cheese had a great look but the taste was missing. Best part of the meal was the flatbread pizza by far and main reason for 2 stars and not one read more

This place was delicious, however it is EXPENSIVE for being a hotel restaurant. I would feel better about the food if it was at least $5 cheaper. Drinks were good! read more

The worst Italian food Ive ever had. That's all..... so bad.. Djeez.. look at how the green presented... it almost feltlike they grabbed some food from the fridge and put them together. read more

The service was fast and efficient and the food was good. I really enjoyed the Citrus Spring cocktail. I had Nonna's chicken, which was very tasty. The dish could have been brought to the next level if the chicken had been grilled to order instead of reheated. The overall rating is relative to comparable restaurants in the area. read more

I ordered the rigatoni while my boyfriend got the lasagna (we did pick up). The lasagna was okay and I personally thought the rigatoni was lacking. The sauce was a simple butter sauce but I felt like could be given MORE on the sauce side. The meat was messily prepared atop the pasta. My boyfriend's lasagna was better, tho. The tiramisu felt lacking- it was super soft and lost that nice firmness a tiramisu has (overly soggy). read more

Had been reading about this place since we first moved here two years ago and decided to give this a shot last evening. Was missing out on a wonderful trattoria all this time. Between the two of us we had the carpaccio which was very tasty, rigatoni with lamb/short rib was fabulous, and the pork loin with polenta was outstanding. What a great find. Will definitely be returning. Khory was our waiter and was most accommodating, friendly and very attentive. We will ask for his service every time we return. read more

Being attached to a Hilton Garden Inn, you would not think the food would be good. However, it was. The family had the Salmon, Risotto, Alfredo Mac and Cheese and the Nonna's Pasta. Appetizers we had the Flatbread Artichoke and Bread Basket. Everyone had a great looking and more importantly great tasting meal and the proportions were sized perfectly for the price. Our Server Julia was very attentive, pleasant and nice to talk to. We would eat here again, to bad we don't live in the area, we would make this a go to for a nice dinner. read more

You don't go to this hotel restaurant for the food, you go for the convenience. After a long day of driving, it was so nice to not get back in the car. My husband had the mozzarella salad and liked it. He found the thick sauce on the meatballs to be sweet. My overcooked grilled chicken had been reheated, probably microwaved. The breadbasket rolls were awful - reheated and dried out. The service was excellent and super friendly! read more

This is genuinely the most horrible Italian food I've ever had. The sauces on these dishes we're literally watery and flavorless. Every person at our table felt sick after eating here, NEVER EAT HERE read more

The food and service was excellent! Meatball appetizer and focaccia bread basket with roasted tomato jam, roasted garlic, and whipped ricotta. My father enjoyed "Nonna's Lasagna" as his entrée while I enjoyed the wild mushroom risotto that was recommended to me, paired with their Pinot Grigio. Overall nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We left way too full and with lots of leftovers! read more

Our family and friends shared appetizers and dinner here during our stay. The food was delicious!! Beef Carpaccio, Lasagna, Meatballs, Mozzarella Salad - everything was excellent! The service was top notch and prices were on point. We would definitely recommend dining here even if you are not staying at the hotel. read more

You might dismiss this restaurant because it's on a hotel property... that would be a huge mistake. We were stunned. Started with an incredibly tasty and delicate carpaccio. We went on to eat the pork loin and the ribeye, along with three incredible vegetable dishes, Brussels sprouts, carrots, and cauliflower. Amazingly seasoned, cooked perfectly, even... artistically. This experience WAAAY exceeded expectation. If you are in State college, GO. read more

We did not eat dinner here, but went because it says it was an Italian market. It's not an Italian market. There's nothing you can buy other than to sit down and eat dinner. With the price of gas we were pretty disappointed because we drove all the way over there thinking that we could get pasta or sauces etc. and it was actually an Italian market as advertised on the sign out front. read more

When you think about eating at a Hilton Garden Inn, your expectation are likely pretty low. Mercato Mio is definitely the exception. I was really surprised at the menu options as well as the presentation. The winter panzanella salad was excellent. Minestrone soup was fresh and hot, and the brussels sprouts were generously sized and really tasty. There was nothing I didn't like. A must try if staying at HGI...and worth a visit if in the area. read more

Honestly - I can't think of a worse meal that I've had in recent memory. Service - rushed, rude and the farthest thing from a professional waitstaff as you can dial up. The food - clearly reheated premade, frozen nonsense. The pork entree was horrible - dry, tasteless. I don't do these reviews at all. But if this stops others from spending $200 on dinner for three when you would have been better served at an Olive Garden - worth the effort. read more

This new Italian restaurant in The Hilton Garden Inn needs some help! We dined at this restaurant on February 26th and we were not very impressed! It has a very small menu so my husband and I selected the lasagna. We also ordered bread (it doesn't come with the meal). The food came out very quickly but it was cold and the waitress failed to tell us it wasn't a traditional lasagna, it had no red sauce just cheese and sausage. The flavor was just OK. It might have been better if it was warm! The drink menu was actually more extensive that the food menu, we should have just stuck with the wine and skipped the food! Needless to say we won't be back! read more

The mushroom risotto and kale salad were both excellent. Table service was great, wait staff is very knowledgeable.

The food and service are above top-notch. The seafood risotto is delicious, as well as the lasagna. The chef is a great guy, and an even better chef...you would be sorry not to know him. Their Breakfast menu is AMAZING!!! read more

The high-end ambiance created expectations for me that the food simply did not live up to. Pricey even for Italian and presentation seems to be prioritized over taste. The appetizers that we ordered, nonna's meatballs and the soppressata flatbread, were the highlight of our meal but not enough to make the experience positive. The rigatoni I ordered was cold and there was an abundance of pasta with a minimal amount meat or sauce to add any additional flavor, which also led me to question why it cost $25. Not likely to visit again. read more

Super yummy and delicious! The lasagna is fabulous! We love ordering it for take out.

Went to eat when they first opened. Had a limited menu. Appreciated that they were doing a slow roll out rather than too much too soon. Waitress was enthusiastic and loved talking about the food. Will definitely be a favorite place read more

Got delivery, was not impressed. The pasta was ok, but relatively bland, and there were only 5 tiny clams on the pasta. The salad was pretty small for the price. Might try in person and order something else. read more

Fabulous! Had the mushroom risotto & kale salad. Definitely the best risotto I've had! Kale salad was excellent as well. We also ordered the bread basket & olives. It was a lot of food. I really liked the bread basket. Fun! My husband enjoyed the olives. Very highly recommend! read more

Poor, disorganized service and, at best, mediocre food. Disappointed all around as this was a graduation dinner. Do not recommend.

Ordered the bread basket. The bread taste like a rusty griddle. I doubt the sanitary of their kitchen.

First time and the Nonna's Pasta was the perfect amount of red spicy sauce! Will definitely go back!

This place is fantastic. We've tried half of the items on the menu at this point and have enjoyed all of them. The mushroom risotto and nonna's meatballs are my favorite. I'm told that the kids chicken sandwich is delicious too...although my son never shares. Take out service is very good. Well packaged meals and always hot. It's nice to have an Italian restaurant in the area that serves some unique items - especially the side dishes. read more
